wouldnt be surprised if the 1650 in the steam survey was really the laptop version. That thing was in EVRYTHING. They were still putting them in new laptops just last year smh yikes

I almost posted the same thing. So many videos about the 1650 and they always feature the desktop version when the steam survey doesn't differentiate between 1650 and 1650 mobile. I'm sure 99% of the 1650s in the survey are from laptops. also, some 1650s in laptops have 1024 cores instead of the desktop's 896 which makes these videos even less useful.

@@schnitzel_enjoyer depends on the laptop build and ventilation as well. Have you ever changed your thermal paste and cleaned your ventilators? Basically, if the laptop gets too hot, it can lower performance because of "heat throttling". If you are not sure of how to change your paste and clean ventilators correctly, just bring it to any shop, it's a fast and cheap operation. It can really refresh your performance

GTX1650 is still very usable for story-rich games, where quick aiming is not needed and you dont need to jump like a goat all the time to dodge bullets. For story rich games does not matter if you have just 30 to 40 FPS, you can still fully enjoy the game (but usually you can get 60 fps if you lower graphics settings). I have completed Horizon Zero dawn or Assasin Creed Odyssey without feeling any performace problems. GTX1650 is actually the best low profile graphics card, its fits even to very thin pc case with width 95 mm only (you actually cant buy anything better than this). But I have to admit, that GTX 1650 is not the best choice for those who intend to buy a PC for games only (it is a good choice only for those who have very limited budget).

The 1650 is one weird chip if you look at all the variants. There is the 'standard' 1650 like this one but the 'Ti' model with 1024 shaders was a laptop only part which I always found strange, it's slightly faster even at 50W configuration but in some rare cases it was given a 75 watt power limit. Never understood why this part wasn't used in PCI-E cards since it was pretty perfect and a slight boost over the standard version.
Then the 'Super' variant which is usually slower than the Ti with every other GPU is actually faster than the 1650 Ti, has a 100W power limit and as far as I know was never released as a low profile card.
As for the 'standard' 1650 yeah, it's still quite usable. It's a shame these low profile ones are so hard/expensive to find now, Nvidia really didn't have any replacement for these models until the recent 3050 6GB cards released which fill pretty much the same niche.

Even the 8GB model of the 480/580 had a similar price to the 1060 6GB, 1070 was *much* more expensive. Why the F you are even comparing this card with 2014 GTX-900 series that were limited to 4GB.

      @@Brazkainetsb Because tier upgrade.
I mean, a lot of gamers just playing esports title, simply stayed on the same tier. I have a friend that had a 760 ti, upgrade to 960 and later 1660.
Look at AMD launched slides for the RX 480. It literally compares the RX 480 against 970 and 980. Even 2x480 against 1x1080.
And if you are upgrading from 970/80, you are likely to buy a 1070 (because you are getting more than a 980 Ti performance for lower price).
Not only that, DF showcased the 970/80 as a budget 4K30 card (games made for that year and 1 more).
And benchmarks shows that the RX 480 can do 4K30 on the budget too---that is if you don't want Nvidia, AND don't want go last gen. However, like the 970/80, it's for game made within that year, and 1 more.
Plus, Nvidia has better memory compression than AMD, since the 600 series, and improving. AMD realised this and made improvements, and showcased it starting with the RX 5000 series.
Heck, even Intel get into the bandwagon of memory compression for their iGPU.

    • @Brazkainetsb
      @Brazkainetsb 11 месяцев назад

@@AlfaPro1337 Uh, you basically just proved my point here. If AMD needed two 480s to get the performance of a single 1080 (assuming the game is very well optimized for Crossfire), these cards don't compete at all. Comparing the 480 against 980/1060 just shows how far behind they were back then, having to *cut prices to compete with older/lower tier cards*, so your statement about 570 competing with cards such as 2060 is absurd to say the least. They didn't compete in price, performance or even efficiency. Polaris couldn't compete with 1070 either in any way shape or form, even the RX-590 won't match it's performance and had a lower MSRP too.
I absolutely agree about the 970/80 upgrade to 1070, it's a pretty logic upgrade path.
The only real competions are price and price to performance ratio, and in that aspect:
RTX had no competition at all, as GCN cards don't even have RT cores and even if they had they are not powerful enough for that
Vega 56/64 were priced similarly to 1070Ti-1080 IIRC
      RX-480/580 - GTX 1060
RX-470/570 - GTX 1650 or even 1050Ti in some countries (in mine the 1050ti was somehow a little bit more expensive)
I agree with you about the RX-560 competing with 1050
RX-550 vs GT-1030 (i know they are pretty weak but hey, some people actually got them and had fun with that).

You have to default to the lowest IQ in the customer history.
Whenever a customer see the RX Flop series/Flop VII, they see it named differently from the RX 4/500 series, and easily match it against the Titans.
I mean, AMD pulled the same stunt with the R9 Not-So-Fury series. I mean why else AMD named it so differently (for Not-So-Fury and Flop)?

Low profile 3060 12GB would be interesting but would be a very chonky card. Asus have a 3060 12GB single fan model (Phoenix) which is great for mini ITX builds and it is impressively small but so thick, it actually runs very cool (better than many other dual fan models I have) but is over 2.5 slots thick because of the heatsink it needs - it's a 170W card after all, not sure you could ever squeeze it into low profile.
