I really appreciate a somewhat modern GPU that doesn't require an additional power connector. It would be nice if they would release a new version on the Ampere architecture or better yet on the upcoming 40 series Lovelace architecture that would provide much better performance per watt. Highly doubt we will see that anytime soon unfortunately.

Most demanding game I've ever seen is "The Medium". Whenever the dual reality sequences occur, fps drops below 20fps in very low settings in 4GB Cards. Even RTX 3050 4GB laptop GPU can't run it. Please try to benchmark it.
It's a good GPU for non GPU intensive games if your looking to play it competitively or expecting 100+ FPS but on newer GPU intensive game will have a hard time having 60+ FPS all the time(In High Settings of course)
Got my pc with ryzen 7 1700, 16 gigs of ram and gtx 1650 year ago. After my gtx 560 1gb, 2 gigs of ram and i3 with 2 cores, playing in Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Apex or any other game on high settings with average 30-60 fps is such a good feeling. Yeah, sometimes I wish for a a little bit better performance, but definitely not complaining (especially after remembering my old pc)
I also got my new pc 9 months ago with i5 10400f and 16gig ram and paired it with the 1650 ddr6 and its working good for almost every game from high to ultra. I was also having old amd a8 with amd r5 gpu laptop.

I got lucky, at the height of the quarantine, and found one for $150. I pared it with an older i7 3770, and have been happy with its performance in every game I have played so far.

It seems to perform in the same ballpark as the GTX 1060 3GB/GTX 970. But it should be better than both in newer titles, such as the ones you tested in this video. I can't really compare that well across your different videos though, it a bit difficult with side-by-side comparisons. Good stuff!
After 5 Years of using a PC with only an i3 G3900 With included graphics with NO GRAPHICS CARD I finnally got an i7 6700 with a GTX 1650 and I'm lovin' it!
For me this is the GPU I need, I'm running Intel Core i5-8400, 8gb of ddr4 single channel ram, and using native intel graphics. I don't play very intensive games, other than Risk of Rain 2, and for these newer higher quality games gives me lots of reasurance! BTW: I play at low screen resolution around 1280 900p, with an average of 30fps.
Great video! I just want to say something, the thing about the rx 6500 it's that is 4.0 pci and for those who doesn't have the new gen cpu's or motherboards the 1650 it's better.
The RX6500 is still a lil' bit better than 1650 with pci 3.0 but I can feel a bit laggy while playing from time to time, maybe it was just me with my i3-10th and h410 pro MB
This was one of my previous GPU, I had it on my laptop and desktop, it started to struggle with newer titles, now I'm rocking a good RTX 4060 laptop with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a very good CPU, it's night and day.
25:14 Performance varies depending on how many players are in a free roam lobby, if there's 32 players in it, you're boned either way, and it doesn't matter if you have a high end machine or if you set the graphics settings lower. This happens presumably because the game engine cannot handle more than 1 player inside a session. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. By the way, any plans to test the gtx 1660 at all?
I was expecting the gddr6 version of it but anyway thanks for the review, also planning to buy a GTX 1650 gddr6 version/GTX 1650 SUPER (if available) and imma pair it with i5 10400f for my first budget custom build, my first choice was the RX 570 but it's nowhere to be found in my country, most pc stores around here have 1650 xD
@Pixeldon I was actually going for the i3 10100f but my purpose is for future proofing, light video editing, vm's, and of course casual gaming so I think the i5 10400f is good enough xD but what do you think?
Any modern i5 is total overkill for a weak GPU like this.I3 9100 or 10100 will do the job. Also gddr6 isn't very different from gddr5 in terms of raw performance. The framerate is almost the same
@Pixeldon oh ok thanks but yeah I need those 6 cores for vm's.... but actually I really was going for the R3 3300X/r3 3100 but it's more expensive than the i5 10th gen, then I found out that the i5 10th gen is way more cheaper than the R5 3600 rn in my country so yeah going for the i5 instead and also thank you for telling me that the GPU will bottleneck the i5, but I really don't mind the issue of bottleneck cause I'm just a casual gamer who plays single player games(mostly offline) and in the future imma upgrade it to 1660 super or higher
Even now the card is a beast. I am playing Baldur's Gate 3, Hogwart's Legacy, and many other games using Medium to High settings, and some games can even go into Ultra and still hit 60fps at 1080p. More RAM obviously helps it out, but with my laptop using 24GB with this card and a Ryzen 5 3550 it has been holding its own.
I personally would only recommend this card if you can get a good deal on it or need lower power consumption and a smaller card for a small office PC case, also in the US you can get a GTX 1070 for like 170 dollars which is way faster has double the VRAM and can even do a bit of raytracing in certain titles just fine
@@CodeVenomSnakes I've used it for raytracing in some titles and it doesn't do a bad job I'd say only use raytracing in a game like Minecraft if you have a GTX 1070 or 1080 unless you have a 1080 ti then you'd probably get away with it on more intense titles

2 years ago I custom ordered a PC just for music production in my studio. I maxed out the CPU with the (then) best Ryzen 5950x, maximum RAM and SSDs in RAID to load huge sample libraries of multiple gigabytes per instrument - I chose the cheapest graphics card that was passive and could handle 3 monitors. The whole thing was silent and water cooled as well. Perfect for making music... But the card I picked was this, the GTX 1650 - and now I'm thinking I want to play a few games, and it doesn't sound like it is too bad for basic gaming in lower settings. Awesome! Cards have come on so far now that even these older basic cards are still excellent. I started using computers and gaming since the ZX Spectrum in the early 80s. Then I got an Atari ST, then finally a PC early 90s, a couple years after that and a few upgrades I chucked in a 3DFX Voodoo.. it was mind-blowing at the time! Haven't really gamed much since then. I think end of this year after I sell my home and move, I'm going to go all out and get a maxed out PC and get back into gaming.
for fortnite the fps will change massively with a 1650 if you run the right settings there are videos that can help you with this, good vid man keep it up
Thanks for the review Kryzzp! I need Nvidia for video editing and casual gaming, so this card is good enough for me. The 1650 Super is 40 USD more where I live, so I had to buy the non-Super version. Luckily, I choose the Gigabyte GDDR6 version with factory overclock, and it actually is faster than my dead GTX 970.
Any CPU that's not 2 Cores 4 Threads will be good for GTX 1650. So always go for 4 Cores 4 Threads or even better, 4 Cores 8 Threads old CPU will be fine.

13:42 Maybe my logic here is bad but here's the idea : few times per game just try to stand completely still and avoid camera movement for 1-2 seconds , just to let the bitrate catch up and load image properly. Would that work?
gtx 1650 gddr6 user here, would say its worth the $10 more. although you might need a 6-pin on gigabyte gddr6 version. some gddr6 versions dont need a 6-pin, it has a 80 watt tdp.
I got the Asus TUF gddr6 version of this card a week ago for about R200 dollars (brand-new). Works amazingly well, especially for a card that consumes 75w of power. I just finished Cyberbug and trust me. I had a very good experience. Now I'm playing RDR2 and wow, I'm playing on medium settings and it's doing absolutely great.
I'm still rocking one of these things, I'm going to get a 3070 in not too long though, that 1650 did a good job at almost every game I played in the past 3 years. A few games didn't run too well due to the low vram though( watch dogs 2, metro Exodus, warzone.)
LOL Exodus isn't a demanding game at all and 3-4gb VRAM isn't an issue.Technically it is a poor console port so there's some weird stuttering and graphical bugs on some systems
A person who grew up on 11 years old laptop and on GT 1030 with Intel 3 this is a big upgrade for me, with Intel core i7 and this GPU it's a beast! Also I'm that type of person that doesn't mind if I play on medium graphics with 50 fps or 30 fps but high graphics
For GTA, I found the most intensive area is areas with a lot of grass, the place that always kills my frames is the twisty route that you must take when doing the Prison Break heist as the prison officer role. There is a large grass area and driving over it just kills my frames. I could drop like 30 or so frames there. EDIT: I don't have a 1650 card so the FPS drop will probably be different.
It's possibly time to upgrade if you have a 1650, even at 1080p. The next gen of games will probably be too much for this card but if you bought it in 2019 you've had 4 decent years at 1080p for about £170.
3 years ago the 1650 was my first build/intro to pc gaming. I specifically built it for smite/valorant and it did a wonderful job at it! I was able to run 1440p or 1080p @120fps easily. @@matt_l2003 in my country the gtx 1650 super was way more expensive like 200 dollars more so i bought gtx 1650 it sure is great card
@@cold2389 Oh dang, yeah in my country the price difference was minimal, and in some cases the 1650 super managed to be even less expensive at times since the 1650 was specifically designed for SFF systems

This card is beastmode on all games I play (Battlefront 1,2, Battefield 4,5 and 1, GTA V, and Witcher 3). If you've been exposed to higher-end cards, it won't be that impressive but I've always upgraded and won't expose myself to the high end cards until I can afford them.
Just bought a new lapotp for programming and gaming. Intel I7-10th gen, GTX 1650, 16GB RAM and its amazing. I dont play many demanding games, only (Apex, Val, GTA, Csgo and LoL) and it runs very smooth and high quality. Amazing video!!

I really appreciate a somewhat modern GPU that doesn't require an additional power connector. Highly doubt we will see that anytime soon unfortunately.

I'm playing with my gtx 1650 on a 34 ultrawide monitor until I'll find an honest price for a gpu to complete my setup. I'm impressed lot of games are more than playable (3440x1440 or 2560*1080 in demanding games, low-lowest settings, 60 fps target). I didn't expect that.

It seems to perform in the same ballpark as the GTX 1060 3GB/GTX 970. But it should be better than both in newer titles, such as the ones you tested in this video. I can't really compare that well across your different videos though, it a bit difficult with side-by-side comparisons.

25:14 Performance varies depending on how many players are in a free roam lobby, if there's 32 players in it, you're boned either way, and it doesn't matter if you have a high end machine or if you set the graphics settings lower.
This happens presumably because the game engine cannot handle more than 1 player inside a session.

Even now the card is a beast. I am playing Baldur's Gate 3, Hogwart's Legacy, and many other games using Medium to High settings, and some games can even go into Ultra and still hit 60fps at 1080p.
