For that system i would actually drill holes on the side panel just so the GPU is able to get more air because in a normal type of system the max i have seen is 55c which if the GPU is going in the 70's then there isn't enough airflow and would be best to have something like that or for someone that would have more heavy duty power tools could cut out a big hole on the side panel and then use a mesh like filter which would be helpful especially if said person would have like a table fan could just angle it and would have some air pushing into the system.

How do you like that cpu? I wanted to swap to an I7 but the performance is almost the same, that I5 is a pretty decent cpu

@Thomas Borisov Unless it was a typo and meant to say 200w, I think they're referring to a PCIe slot power limit which is common on small SSF office PCs. In which case, options are limited.
@@The_Prizessin_der_Verurteilung this information is totally just information but other than boot times (not to mention after a HDD hits over 80% the read/write type changes to be slower to protect data) SSD highly boosts OS operation, game loading (especially in open world games), render speeds, etc. It's just better overall, and they last literal hundreds of times longer under the same use. They also frequently use less power. SSDs really are just overall better technology. The thing is they are, truly, not always necessary, but it's best to always have a dedicated drive for the OS and a secondary and possibly third drive for mass storage and programs.

Did this exact thing with a hp z210 sff I picked up for $50 with a e3-1245, 8gb, and a 180 ssd. Added this 1650 and for under $300 have a decent gaming system.
A long time ago, i used to play with a WINDOWS XP PC that had 2.99gb ram and a quad core cpu (i dont remember what the cpu was). And it still ran a few games pretty well surprisingly. Oh and btw, by a "long time ago" i actually mean in like 2016 lol.
I used a gtx 1660 and slowly added more to it. So far I’ve added: 24GB ddr3 ram, 750w PSU, and gtx 1660. I’m planning on getting a new motherboard, and AMD based cpu, and case next. (It was an optoiplex 9020 with an i5 cpu)
honestly i was gearing up to agree with you about how these should be avoided, but now that the low profile 1650's are actually at there msrp instead of 200 dollars its actually pretty affordable compared to a full fat tower. i went on ebay and for an i3 version with 4gb of ram you are talking 60 bucks, if you dont want to resell a barebones is 50. a kit of 16gb ddr3 cheapest is 45 dollars and the cpu is 35 dollars. ssd for 240gb is 35 dollars. that is 165 before the gpu. add in the 1650 and you get 325. if you want additional storage a 2tb hard drive is 50 on amazon so 375. i cant find anything to beat that. its a temporary thing sure but for now it is the cheapest way to game. it just limits your upgrades in the future. When i went on ebay you can get for around 250 a mini tower with all the parts listed above (but with a 120gb ssd instead) and no gpu. so that is 410 dollars instead and you have less storage (ssd is half and so is the hard drive). as long as the person isn't planning on upgrading its actually cheaper atm. when the cost of low profile gpus skyrocket they will not be the good pick then. the problem with sff computers is that a gtx 1650 low profile is usually 20 bucks more then a regular gtx 1650 and thats the price difference between an sff and a full sized tower on ebay. you only upgrade your machine if you just need a couple parts. lets use an example. say you have one of these with an i3 and 4gb of ram. so you know you will need a cpu and ram upgrade before considering the gtx 1650. ram for a 16gb kit is 45 dollars. if you are lucky say you find that you can use a 4gb stick in your system (instead of 2x2) and you can get only 12gb for say 35. then you get the xeon you are talking about (also good to know that they work in optiplexes. ive put them in hp OEM machines thanks for that info) cheapest i found was 35. so you have 80 dollars. throw in an SSD (regardless of it has storage or not) a 240gb ssd is around 35 dollars. okay so now that we have that sorted out you have 115 dollars plus 160 dollars which puts you at 275 dollars. now if you bought a computer to upgrade then you can slap 60 dollars on which is 335 dollars and that doesn't include a windows key. meanwhile if you get a full fat tower for 250 bucks you get the i7, 16gb ram, 120gb ssd, 1tb hard drive and then all you have to do is throw in the gtx 1650. i know that is
Im going the Optiplex route. I snagged a 7050 MT with ssd 10 pro and 24 gb ram on eBay last night. A friend a donated a GTX 1050 ti to me Imm excited to get it .
I have that same system except I put in the Xeon e3-1270, upgraded the ram to 16gb as well, and slapped in a gt1030 (gddr5) that I scored for fifty bucks (disclaimer, the 1650 lp didn't exist when I got the system, plus it was out of the budget at the time anyway). I scored the 1270 for just under 40 bucks and the thing runs circles around the original i5 2400 that came with the system. I gotta say though, the 1030 can still rock e-sports games pretty decently and can even hold it's own on some modern titles as well with a few tweaks here and there.
This ran a lot better than I thought it would lol as soon as I heard "Xeon" and "i7 2600 without the integrated graphics" I expected low settings 720p for 30 fps
the idea is when u try to make a small form factor pc you have to be so careful so metals don't touch each other and conduct electricity, and that means that you need to be really careful about the case design, make sure that everything fits and no wires touch fans... that's why it kinda makes sense.
I have a very similar PC except you have a DELL opt. SFF 790 and I have a DELL opt. DT 7010, my specs are : CPU: i7 3770 GPU: GTX 1650 (same one by zotac) RAM: 16 Gb DDR3 the fps is very similar and for those wondering, yes COD:BOCW runs at 60+ fps on low/med on 1080p Also have the stock PSU
if we talkin about used, go amd, the rx 470 is a solid gpu that can be found for less than eu 70 on aliexpress, with no mining experience and it has a 6 pin connector
Is that case about the same size as the Dell Vostro 230? My idea is to use the case, but build a whole new B450 AM4 (3300X, maybe 3400G) but if I go with the video card, what is a good choice for the micro/mini tower? The card you are featuring looks great, but is it a good one for AMD 3000 series? Thanks is the card you used the most powerful, for its size, or are there ones that surpass it?
I have a Dell Optiplex 3010 SFF. The only problem is these SFF GPU's are way too much money. I would love to by a RX560 GTX 1050 OR 1050TI. Even this one 1650. I have 16gb in mine and a i5-4570
Hey Matt I enjoy watching your videos and I just found this one with the Dell Optiplex complete by luck cause im about to do a massive upgrade to my Dell Optiplex 390, and not like in your video with just a cpu and ram upgrade . I be upgrading the whole pc with a new mobo , cpu , memory and power supply , these are the parts i be using in a while. - B450 mini ITX Mobo - Ryzen 7 - 2700X CPU - 16 GB 3200 Memory ( 2 sticks ) - 350 or 400 Watt TFX PSU - RX 6400 4GB Speedster LP GPU The reason I'm doing this build is cause i like the shape of the case and it fits nice in my tv furniture :D BTW i got 2 cases for free so i can use one as the original with spare parts Let me know what you think
How big is the PSU that came in it? I am doing a similar setup with a 5060SFF with an i7-8700 running the 1650 from Gigabyte, 64GB Ram, and 2x 2TB (1NVME + 1SATA) with m.2 Wifi card added. Mine came with a 200watt unit and found a good 260watt, and hoping that will be plenty :)
It should as long as you dont try to overclock but when i put together one of these a few years back with a 1050ti i upgraded the psu to a cheap evga 450b just for peace of mind and i was still able to overclock my 1050ti to about 1900mhz even without a power 6 pin. Those cards were beasts when you could get em around 100 bucks.

What CPU does it have in it?
Also what power supply ?
For that system i would actually drill holes on the side panel just so the GPU is able to get more air because in a normal type of system the max i have seen is 55c which if the GPU is going in the 70's then there isn't enough airflow and would be best to have something like that or for someone that would have more heavy duty power tools could cut out a big hole on the side panel and then use a mesh like filter which would be helpful especially if said person would have like a table fan could just angle it and would have some air pushing into the system.
did you know what did my cousin do about it? he left the side panel open xD ik that would be a dust cage but he will clean it

well an idea is to get an intel optane memory to boost up that hdd istead of a ssd while taking the advantage of big storage.

Bought it in a good deal without HDD.
i went all out and bought the E3-1230, GTX 1650, 16GB ram, 500GB 860 Evo SSD, and 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD for it.
Most companies have preconfigure profiles that dont have admin privilege.
In my case, I lowkey plugged my extra SSD with separate OS and the GPU.
honestly i was gearing up to agree with you about how these should be avoided, but now that the low profile 1650's are actually at there msrp instead of 200 dollars its actually pretty affordable compared to a full fat tower. i went on ebay and for an i3 version with 4gb of ram you are talking 60 bucks, if you dont want to resell a barebones is 50. a kit of 16gb ddr3 cheapest is 45 dollars and the cpu is 35 dollars. ssd for 240gb is 35 dollars. that is 165 before the gpu. add in the 1650 and you get 325. if you want additional storage a 2tb hard drive is 50 on amazon so 375. i cant find anything to beat that. its a temporary thing sure but for now it is the cheapest way to game. it just limits your upgrades in the future.

@@haxorman6969 I had it so lying around I put it to use lol. Just bought a GTX1650 super and a 6pin adapter. Hopefully this fits !
I gotta say though, the 1030 can still rock e-sports games pretty decently and can even hold it's own on some modern titles as well with a few tweaks here and there.

as soon as I heard "Xeon" and "i7 2600 without the integrated graphics" I expected low settings 720p for 30 fps
I just wish these small form factor versions weren’t so much more expensive than the other versions
the idea is when u try to make a small form factor pc you have to be so careful so metals don't touch each other and conduct electricity, and that means that you need to be really careful about the case design, make sure that everything fits and no wires touch fans... that's why it kinda makes sense.

Dont u have to change the power supply? Average sff pc power supply watt is 200w. Is that even enough to power the gtx 1650 low profile?
