Thanks Winnie for sharing your experiment with us. It was interesting. You could try it again ensuring that you use bananas that are a little less ripe than what you used the first time. In addition, reduce the amount of oil you used to fry it considerably. So you could try putting about a 1/3 of the amt of oil you used initially

I fry bananas and plantains for a living. I have videos on my channel. I use mostly green plantains and bananas because I make and sell chips.

Never tried this before, have no idea what the outcome will be, but I think another good thing will be to cut them in really small sizes and make chips, just sounds like a good Idea to me

Untried donkey years ago, without salting. It was just like frying overly ripe plantain...so it's very sweet and very soft. That's all I experienced.

One thing i observed in adding salt to plantain is it soften the plantain quickly.
So i don't add salt to my plantain.
So been banana the salt would soften it really quick, worse it's predicament.😂
I do fry banana but no salt added

I am always surprised when l hear produce like plantain, cocoa, cocoyam etc can not grow in some African countries. West Africa is so bless it beyond a joke yet blessed with clueless leadership. We should be selling countries like South Africa and others the health benefits of plantain, cocoa, cocoyam etc with a view of selling them these products in different forms.l bet you can't even grow sweetcorn, ube, coconut, Avocado in that south Africa.😂 So sell them coconut, coconut flakes, coconut sugar and some avacados. 😂 🙏🙏

You are right, our climate does not accomodate those types of harvests. Although our economy does thrive off Avocado which grows in the Eastern and Northern parts of the country. And a whole lot of other things.

Try frying it with less oil. It will carmelize or brown better. Then add brown sugar/ white sugar and cinnamon after cooking.
