As I walked out those doors I just stared in awe at the sunrise and knew it was going to be okay. The music started picking up as I walked to the jeep and it was the most incredible feeling. I survived.
There never will be a survival horror game like this one. Outlast 2 wasn’t as good as this one. The dlc (whistle blower) was so fitting to the story to show more of the plot. And then when it’s all over, you just hear this beautiful music as the end and a goodbye, your character limping to freedom, and looking at the distance to see Miles not sharing the same fate as you.Outlast was so simple yet very unique, there never will be an impact of a horror game as this
i have proably watched playthroughs of this game 15 times now, and in this year about 8 xD, but it is just amazing and i never get tired of seeing people play this, this game will forever be loved by me, and i will always see it as the best horror game there was and im certain there wont be any better.
I love how the music can convey so much emotion and feeling, like how the music shifts at 1:30 and the emotions of escaping are happy but eerie at the same time
You can just imagine waylons expression as he hears the morning birds chirp, the rays of the sun dawning upon him and the outside air as he finally escaped the hellhouse behind him. After nearly being killed several times and being splattered with bloodshed, he can finally run home to his family and bring murkoff down.
Waylon's fate is not exactly known but we know that after the mount massive incident he and his family went into hiding, knowing that murkoff is after them or something. Maybe when outlast 3 comes out, they'll reveal something?
@@andresaud guess what outlast 2 happens just 1-3 days later after mount massive incident meaning it didin't have time to get that popular. The game comics confirmed it SO THE MURKOFF IS FUCKED
I just realized the weird parallel that both Outlast and Whistleblower had. Outlast was the bad ending of the game. Stuck with more unfortunate luck, going through far more hell and having a character who was rough and vengeful and of course, the inability to escape and what led Miles to his unfortunate end. Whistleblower was the good ending. Unfortunate but easier luck, less torture and hell and Waylon was the more passive and heartfelt kind of protagonist who had a family and a reason to escape. While Miles was just a man doing a job but met deadly end, he does what’s right by helping Waylon escape. Helping the good man leave and get the story, expose Murkoff and end the nightmare once and for all. While Miles died with an unfortunate end, Waylon lived. Went home, saw his family, got the word out and lived... as a hero. The Parallels between Outlast and Whistleblower make this ending and closing song, all the more impactful. No other horror game would even live to this standard and at the end of the day, both Miles and Waylon have the same thought. “I am free”
I somehow liked Miles more. It's just, he went there, gone thru so much pain. And at the end, he doesn't get out as a human. But basically, he is the most powerful person on earth after this. He is the Walrider, but not like Billy, who was locked in the asylum, he is free. He could theoretically just kill the most powerful people on earth and no one could stop him. He is kind of free too. That's the only nice thing about the Outlast end (and that he helped Waylon). It's somehow sad that Waylon was afraid of him in the end thinking he was evil because of him being the Walrider while he just wanted to escape too and tell everyone, brought there by Waylon himself (writing a e-Mail to him).
idk about waylon having a good ending, he had to run away after leaking the stuff, and considering how dangerous murkoff is I don't think he's going to rest
This soundtrack make me feels emotional because it gives that emotion of hope and freedom that someone is desiring and you finally get it just beautiful 👌
I’m about to finally finish High School, and I’m gonna play this for the final time. High School was stressful, yes, but there are teachers who are the sweetest people you could ever meet

To this day, it gives me a certain sadness to see Miles in the distance in ghostly form in nanites and losing his control after Wylon got into his jeep, at the same time as joy to have escaped in one piece and sadness to know that Miles is trapped in nanites without being able to see freedom. and still united with a crazy Billy Hope who always tries to regain control over Walrider with only poor Miles to stop
When I heard this music I felt relieved. A sense of awareness that I’m still alive and I’m finally free and it’s over. The psychological tricks, pain and people. Done. When you walk in the hallway and see the church on fire knowing who did it and remembering when Miles was still alive and you limp to the very end thinking how hard you worked while you hear the military talking to each other to shoot anything that moves an realize Miles is about to die and you start running and hope to save him but your to late.
