everything feels so researched, not complex in spite of something or to look cool, but all are part of a network and everything has its role in the ecosystem, and you feel like an outsider looking at a documentary, and the characters feel like every shade of actual humanity, undecisive, not conscious of their surrounding until they domt have a choice to, 9/10 would have like an attenborough voiceover

I really hope Netflix gives this show the push in popularity it needs to get a season 2. It’s such an awesome sci fi story and the world is so beautifully horrifying. Like you said I think season 1 ended great but I would love to see what other ideas this show wants to explore and what that whole ending teaser with the cult is about

I binge-watched the entire show today and DAMN the character dynamics, worldbuilding, and the last episode's montage gave me an epiphany
so when this came out i was withdrawling BAD from weed. (constant heavy smoker for 14 years) and i had the worst anxiety and my dopamine system was all out of whack.
this mixed with the amazing worldbuilding and storytelling of this series gave me one of the few religious experiences ive ever had. it literally gave me a spiritual ecstasy which ive only had a few times and never from art before. im not sure if it was my vulnerable psyche that caused this elation but i will say experiencing this show in this state has become a core memory and defining spiritual moment in my life that i will NEVER forget.
im better now and my dopamine system has returned to normal and no more anxiety so all i have to say is yes the show is that good. 10/10 just fucking wow dude. especially that last episodes montage. absolutely brilliant
I watched Scavengers Reign because of you tbh and absolutely became obsessed with it. The end of Sam's character arc nearly made me cry and I can't really listen to the OST of that scene without breaking down it's so baddd out here fr
The bit about Caiman being the parasite oh my lord I didn't even consider that I'm gonna go berserk all over again. And the way you end the video about how sometimes things don't happen for any particular reason but it'll be okay, what a perfect way to encapsulate that
Anyways will be rewatching the show and forcing family and friends at gunpoint to join me 🫡
I loved every character in this show. But keiman omg, i can't say if i hate him or love him. He's written really well and the relationship he has with that um.... Thing, (i can't remember if it has a name) is so interesting. Also i think they had the most disgusting/beautiful scenes together, i honestly watched in horror every time they were on screen

I love this show so much, I really hope that it gets another season. Everything about it is so masterfully out together and it uses different themes so perfectly with one another. It’s a masterpiece
a game i loove that is so like this is in other waters. it's entirely interface-based(??) and you play as a marine xenobiologist documenting the life on this ocean planet while looking for your missing partner and what i love so much about is it how you get to record all of the life forms and see the drawings the main character does.... so good. the message is very similar to scavengers reign and the music is mwah

This show was so trippy and so beautiful. No bullshit, your excitement for it was part of what drove me to watch it. What makes me so bummed is that the show isn't available on blu-ray. I very much want to buy it and own it and have it forever, because you know how streaming platforms be.

Yes to everything you have said. For me, this is the best western animated series since 'Primal'. Both worlds feels similarly alive and breathing. I love this unique combination of elements from 'Alien,' Studio Ghibli, BBC documentaries about the awe-inspiring and batshit crazy aspects of real-life nature, speculative biology, 'Dune,' and 'Adventure Time,' all with a subtle character study.
Also, if you like the aesthetics, there is a game called 'Sable' which utilizes the 'Moebius' style quite a bit.

Just finished this series after watching the first few minutes of this video and man I wish you talked a little more about the spoliers stuff it's SO good. Also I honestly super enjoyed the exploration /adventure aspect of the earlier, slower paced episodes. Just beholding the beauty of this alien nature was awesome.

The scene of the Cayman frog thing getting obliterated by Levi is literally my favorite scene in the whole show not because of the frog thing getting beat but because it was straight up "behold the undeniable beauty of this fucking universe" and that revelation just sent me. It was so suddenly beautiful and powerful and it really summed up the whole motif of the show for me which was that nature is a cruel mistress but she is so goddamn beautiful.
I used to watch video essays religiously, then I started college and a lot of other changes came and I haven’t been able to sit through a single video since. This is the first I didn’t even think about swiping away from and sat through the whole thing. Please keep it up

Sam and Ursula is my favorite pov to watch which is kinda insane cause I adore pretty much all of the characters(including Kris she was very to watch at the very least) I just. I ADORE THIS SHOW.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said here. While I'm hoping and praying this show gets a second season, if in the unfortunate case we don't, the ending we got couldn't be more perfect. For me Ursula closing her journal was symbolic of this story coming to its natural conclusion without loose ends, and every character's arc is closed in a way that seems fitting to the self-contained universe.
Bruh I'm so glad more people are talking about this show. Being a lover of science fiction I came across the show while browsing Max and I binged it. It's amazing and criminally underrated and it better get a second season on Netflix or we riot!

Show is fantastic but they made it available only in US, UK, Ireland and NZ. I was hoping Netflix would expand it's distribution outside of what HBO did but I guess not. I spoke to Netflix's Customer service and there is no currently available information on any further distribution plans.

Mœbius was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the trailers for _Scavengers Reign._ Very reminiscent of _Le Monde d'Edena._
You should watch _Les Maîtres du Temps_ (Time Masters) from 1982. It's an animation with art design by Mœbius. Get the French version if you can because the English dub sucks.
i am so upset i saw a post about it on twitter a few days ago and ive been really trying to find a legal way for me to watch the show in my country but its simply not available anywhere in my country (no i dont have a VPN and honestly i think its stupid that i would have to use one to cheat the system to watch something the legal way)
