What Happened When I Stopped Minoxidil for Beard Growth?

- If you have caught my previous posting on my 2 year minoxidil beard transformation you will have sight of the beard transformation I had made. From barely being able to grow any chin pubes, to now being able to maintain full stubble. There are many guides on using minoxidil for growing out a beard.

Now whilst you will be able to find numerous guides and other people's transformations, one question from many people was on what happens once you cease minoxidil. There seem to be murmurs around losing as much as 50% of your beard growth once you finally stop. So are we stricken to taking minoxidil forever? That's what I thought I'd be a guinea pig for, to find out what happened once I stop applying minoxidil after nearly daily application for 2 years.

I have baby hair on my cheeks and chin(some growth on chin) but good mustache, can i go for minoxidil 5% because as now I feel the growth of my beard is very slow or I can say just no growth(there is little)?

Glad they are helping you man! You can always go for minoxidil, there isn't a need to wait for your beard to slow it's growth. You always have the option to only apply it to the areas which don't grow well. I applied most of it to my weak areas (the cheeks) and then the leftovers to my chin and moustache.

It's supposed to grow back if you have terminal growth. If it's vellus hairs, it won't grow back as fast.
Bro if we apply minoxidil on beard does it causes hair fall on scalp ??if we stop minoxidil after 1yr and if we shave it does it grows back without minox?? And it grows Even more than the hair which we gained through minox??
Hey man. If you have the initial shedding it may also be on your scalp but that is temporary (I never had any shedding at all). I've stopped and it's growing back as normal and at the same speed, 1 year should be plenty of time :)

yes just use your serums after 2-3 hours of applying minoxidil, that's what I'm doing and its working so far
