- thumbs up for sound and video quality! I didn't re-jet it, it doesn't need it. yes it would make the quad perform better, but it isn't a must. i love the sound! and would definitely recommend it if your looking for something loud.

best pipe ever for the 400ex, got mine last night and sounds so good without the quiet core and the spark arrestor, i have only rode it for litalery 2 minutes around the yard in first and second gear and i have to say in second gear give it half throttle and it will come off the ground into a wheelie! no joke, i was tired of popping the clutch in second gear all the time to get it off the ground since i only weigh 150, best looking to if you get it custom made to match your quad

It seems to have good throttle response, I would bump up to a Keihin 152.5 or 155, it's running lean. You can tell by the popping in decel, I know because mine did the same thing till I rejetted to the above jet size on the main. The 38 pilot is still fine, other then that, great pipe and great video!

I have the 2012 trx400x and I bought the same exhaust but black and I re jet my quad and they are loud and It gives you so more power but you can Go with out it and nice track!
Oh and just by the sound of your motor when you slow down or downshift I can tell you are indeed running lean. It's popping when doing so, which = LEAN

I love the sound of the 400EX with the HMF! HMF is a great sounding pipe. I went with the full exhaust. Deep breather and loud. I had to rejet to 40 pilot and 180 main. Nice quad man!
Aqualungs what’s your elevation because I just bought a full hmf system and my elevation is 884 ft

very nice my cuz has a 250 but he is 10 im 15 the 250 good and goes fast but i want the 400 you sound about the same age. but the 400 you have is a 2012 or 2011 right. im not copying you but this is an exact example on what i want to do. hmf sounds great. finnally able to find a video that is almost a clone on what i had in my head. love the video and great quality thanks man!
@redraidersman96 yeah its a 2008 honda trx 400ex. it rides great, the HMF is the best slip-on to get hands down! this video sounds good, but doesn't do the pipe justice... It sounds great if your looking for something loud with a lot of power and torque. Glad you liked liked the video.

I have the same Atv and the same pipe i haven't put the pipe on yet but do you have to rejet the engine

theyre the same thing the trx is always there some people just dont put it. but if you want reverse get an 05 or newer

Is there a difference with between the trx 400ex and just a 400ex? Plz help idk what to get but i want speed and a good trail riding 400...thx and i dont want a power loss...possibly with reverse

With Honda you can't go wrong no matter where you want to ride it.
Honda will always be Honda.
Cars, SUV's, Dirt bikes, Quads, etc... they're just all around great machines.
Even the push mowers with Honda engines Outlast any other mower.

Rejecting doesnt just make it perform better, it keeps you from leaning out the quad and melting your piston.

If it is jetted wrong and you are running to lean it is hard on the motor eventually ruining the top end not fine
Anyone who knows the SLIGHTEST about these bikes knows that they come jetted LEAN FROM THE FACTORY. This mainly to comply with California laws. So in reality you could up the jets on a COMPLETELY stock bike. So when you throw an aftermarket exhaust on which equals MORE AIR FLOW with still that same small amount of gas then yes that means you're running pretty damn lean. Bottom line if you care about the health of your bike then you will rejet it. It's so easy and takes 15 minutes.
I have a 2008 Honda trx 400ex with a 450 carb and new sprockets but I have this exhaust and I can beat my dads raptor 660!
Jake Winnett what do you have to do to have the 450r carb? Do you still have to jet it for a pipe?
Thats what I was wondering.... Hes just hatin. Its not gonna fry your top end. it may be a little hard on gas but its fine.

I didn’t end up doing it, but it would of course make it run better.

It might sound good, but over time the HMF will misalign your valves because it does not create enough back pressure. Rejetting your carburetor will fix this problem. Also, are you aware that this is actually a 400x and not a 400ex?

you dont bring in more oxygen when you put a pipe on it doesnt matter if it was a straight pipe its only gonna bring in and let out so much air and exhaust fumes
