May want to add some ribbing to the inside of the hatch to give it more ridigidity. Should be ablento support a person standing on it. Outstanding work btw.

      Hi, thanks for watching.
Great idea with the ribbing. Im strenghthening the hatch up right now. Im adding a backer board on the underside of the hatch. Its going to beef it up to almost an inch thick. The next episode Im going go over how and why Im building it. Cheers

Amazing job brother! Those gaskets will keep any water from coming in! And that front trough you made will help flow any standing water! Great job visualizing that and making come to life! Idk how long it took you to fair this but I can only guess a few entire days worth! 😳 I have a project coming up where I’m gelcoating the whole topside and I’m not looking forward to the sanding and fairing 🤣. Have to try and get it done before that summer heat comes through! Can’t wait for the next one! 🤙

Thanks I appreciate it! The gaskets are untested on the water. I've dumped gallons of water testing the seal in the shop. So far- so dry. We'll see in a couple months on our first camping adventure how well it holds up. Good luck with the gelcoating. Its not my favorite to prep for... but it sure looks good when its done.
And, Im luvin your latest videos. You're channel has such fun and interesting takes on all different angles of boating. My wifes got into your videos now. Common ground, when I cant watch another baking show. Thanks

@@RebuildProjects humbled by your words! 🙏 me and Aliey love watching your videos together because we get so many ideas for projects for our boat. We love everything boating so we try to show all the different aspects of it from a blue collar perspective if you will. DIY, good deals etc.
I just finished editing “best overnight boats that are trailerable” from the boat show (There weren’t many) well post it on Monday. Prices are crazy!

What's the name of the pink fairing?

      Hi, thanks for watching.
I use Phenolic Microballons. They are phenolic resin spheres with reddish/brown colouration. This tone makes them particularly useful for cosmetic topcoats. I like how easy it is to sand. Although they are not as waterproof as glass microsheperes/balloons. I find them nicer to work with/smooth out. It looks pink because I only use a small percentage in my total fairing recipe.
      Hope that helps.

Hey brother, I’m getting ready to gelcoat the topside of our boat but I found some rot under the bow gunnels. I’ll be recoring the whole bow gunnel but i want to do a new anchor hatch from scratch like you did your hatch. If it’s ok with you, I’d like to ask for your advice on a few things. Am I able to email you? Thanks buddy!
