I feel you, man! I just bought a pair of ATC SCM25A MK 2s... I never ever thought I would spend that kind of money for speakers.... until I heard them. Game over.
Nice to hear you select Haley Williams as your first song - I can just see the grin on our face for hearing the ATC's in your studio for the first time
As much as I loved my Dynaudio Confidence 5s the day the SCM-150ASL's arrived the bar moved farther ahead. It is unfair to say bad things about Dynaudios but a 3" ATC mid is a perfect lens to witness the music through. Congrats and enjoy
Been using these for around. Year now with a set of ATC SCS70 Pro’s.. crazy amazing.. We run Atmos 9.2.6 and it’s an overwhelmingly stunning place to be. Tried Sonarworks for a few years before switching to a Trinnov MC 24 Dante. Even for stereo, nothing has ever come close to this magic box.. Setup looks good though man, we are based in the Midlands, more out of the way and there’s nothing within a 20+ mile range also. Best wishes mate, great setup. Rick
It's amazing how the quality of audio reproduction continues to improve and the quality of the stuff you have to listen to through it continues to devolve.
Hahah you're not wrong! We've managed to minimise almost all resonant snare buzz though, way more than we expected. These speakers are for life too, so when we upgrade to a purpose built space we'll be all good!
Wow... Congrats..A dream come true! I'd get rid of all the drums in there. Those are resonant boxes. Saw another channel where removing a floor standing acoustic guitar that made a serious resonance around 150 HZ improved the measurements they made.. 🙂
Never understood the fascination with ATC. I've been building transmission Line speakers exclusively for over 30 years, but if I had to go back to buying *'Store Bought'* speakers (and I pray that day never comes), ATC wouldn't be on the short list. But thanks for turning me onto *Hayley Williams - Simmer*
you should have gone for the 50's, they are better than the 45's, the 50's have a tighter clearer cleaner sound with lower distortion than the 45's. The 50's have all 3 lower distortion super linear drive units, the 45a dont have any super linear drive units.
Ive tested them in Studiocare studio here in UK. They didn’t impressed me much. Low end was not tight. Consider to demo Amphion two 18 with sub. Good mid range on that Atcs. Enjoy.
One day I'll get to own these. I currently have the Neumann KH310 + KH750 sub combination. Also in your room, do those drum kits rattle when you're mixing?
@@Ein-Stuck Use the MA1 alignment mic and the MA1 software to tune your speakers in your room. Besides acoustics, make sure to use proper placements on speakers which is in the manual. This is a killer combo and it takes time getting used to it but the low end sounds so good. Enjoy.
Who gets paid? - Thats pretty obvious. The one generating it and putting it out with their names on it, submitting it to the label or self-release it. If it's out there in the digital shops, that doesn't mean anyone wil be interested in it. The challenge is to get a hit-song, not putting something out or composing or produce something. I think, it will always be about the music. Still it's up to you as an artist to decide weather you release a song or not. Even today, the most difficult thing is not to make a song, but to decide, weather you should release it or not. A&R-ing your own music is the biggest challenge even now. When you get AI-Tools that generate your music, you still have to sit there and decide weather this is a hit or not. Most likely, songs are not a hit, if there are released so many daily. Today, at some point in your carrier, people send you like 100+ vocals a month and countless collaboration requests. In general, those are ready to use songs and you just need to decide to take and release them, or just ignore the mail. That's kinda like an AI generating countless songs for you for free even now. With AI, the challenge will be to decide what to release and what to put in the bin, even more.
this pair is 13000 dollars , my dream is still to buy adam a7x pair , sometimes I surprise how rich and blessed some people are and who am I , My dreams are nothing in front of those people.
So dream bigger friend. I started with cheap m-audio speakers. Then it was the yamaha hs80. Now it’s the dynaudio lyd 48. Next is the core59 or these ATCs
Sonar works is shit. Trinitov is the way to go with atc's. I use Audeze lcd'x, they reveal how shitty sonarworks is. Trinitov is like the audiophile sonarworks
Yeah it's a necessity though due to space, but they at least look good on the shelves! We learned a trick of adding a piece of A4 paper between the snare wires and the skin, which takes almost all of the snare buzz out of play. We've tracked a bunch in here and the spill is minimal, although you can't beat a purpose built mix room though... one day huh!
Proud owner of the Scm50asl here. They are extremely detailed and gorgeous. I will say though, things tend to not ever sound harsh through them- so sometimes I don’t hear sibilance or high mid harshness quite as well until I take it into my car. Luckily, I also have ns-10s and an Auratone to bounce between. My studio is designed and built from the ground up by a studio designer, so it’s not the room. That’s my only criticism of them, but I absolutely love them. Paired with 2 15” subs
These mothers sound all right. Sadly, they are so butt-ugly, they could have been designed in the German Democratic Republic sometime around 1963. The rear connection panel -- well, you cannot make it more stripped-down than this. One single analog input, and out the door you go, dude. Controlling ANYTHING -- hey, that's for sissies. Anyhow, for someone really wanting this, ATC has some "good prices" for Eastern Europe. Try HitSpace in Budapest, Hungary, their Hungarian dealer. Now, as far as the GBP 35,000 price being mentioned for a pair of B-stocks of these ahumm ATCs -- just mentioning that I saw a pretty decent looking B-stock Bentley motorcar for 500 quids cheaper than these two were to be had. I cannot for the life of my figure out why anyone would pay any MORE for these than say for a pair of Adams, Eves, Hedds, etc. At a fraction of the price.
@@ghdrum I've worked on Barefoot's in two different studios and never felt comfortable on them, whereas I've always had the opposite experience on ATC's. tbh you should kept the old ones and spend all the money on acoustic treatment. speakers dont matter if the room is untreated. sonarworks is good for the last 5% but not as a sledgehammer
We've done as much as we can to treat our existing space, with traps, gobos and other absorption/diffusion elements. This isn't a purpose built mix room, but we'll build something eventually. These speakers will last a lifetime though!

Great speakers. Probably one of the best. I've got some ARB Covers dust covers for them bad boys in stock on my website.
