Yes Jon!! You just bought the best speakers in the world!! We’ve got SCM200s and they’re incredible, they up the game like no other piece of gear. Love them! They may have cost more than your car, but you know already they’ll be the best investment you could ever make. Good choice, sir! 👍👍👍
3:34 - Why do you have that flat wood-aluminum surface in your corners? Is it sound reflective? Would it be better to have poliester or holes in that wood and insulation in the back? Nice job, speakers and studio looks amazing!
Bro i didn’t receive a notification for some reason but i was wondering if you made something new today so i came and found out that you just installed them.. so happy for you and i hope one day I’ll be able to do my own studio.. but first i need to continue with you and write down all of the information you give and i really appreciate it!.. good luck bro!
ATCs are super cool. I’ve only been able to hear them because they have a surround setup at the symphony concert hall here in Miami. It’s really epic. Enjoy bro.
I am genuinely happy for you. I remember how you started and remember your small studio with the Yamaha speakers. Well, I am happy with my M50X-s. And maybe someday I can buy my dream speakers, the Genelec 8300 series. :)
A number of points: - The front wall is not "continuous", large recessed gap in the middle where the window is, that is a shame as it will interfere with low end - The window in the centre of the front wall will create SBIR issues from the rear of the cabinets - The front wall is absolutely no way stiff enough, just look at the wobble - The sylomer decoupling is undermined by the white plastic foam, which will exhibit its own characteristics - The speaker COG is front-heavy, the MDF does not address this - Rocking modes likely occur, due to the elasticity of the white plastic foam - The acoustic axis is 5 degrees below the height of the mid dome, the speakers look a touch too high - I'm not sure what the springs in the concrete blocks are for - The concrete blocks are not "fixed" and are subjected to rocking modes of the low frequencies
Have I missed a video? I'm interested in why you decided to upgrade, and I know "it's better" but I'd love to know in what ways, because the old speakers were no joke either
He said it. It's not just better. For him, there is nothing better. Objectively, there are no better midrange drivers than these ATC dome mids, but some people like thicker bass.
Thanks for some great videos on the superb ATC’s. Ok. First let me say this. I am not jealous. I am NOT jealous. I AM NOT JEALOUS! Now that’s out of the way, I have a question. Youv’e been experiencing these speakers for a while now. Would you ever consider installing them in your home environment or are they just too much of a good thing? Like too revealing, too exhilarating, too focussed, too clear? I am interested to know what you think vis a vis pro versus hifi gear.
I'd really recommend you looking into Barefoot speakers. I just recently got myself a pair of micromain 27s and I am really satisfied with their performance. For your Setup you could get some Barefoot mm12s. Nothing touches them imho. No need for a sub they go flat to 20hz
They look great and obviously sound great! Don’t you think that you should have another pair of speakers to have another reference? Like a pair of nearfield?
you could also open a dance club at the weekends with all your flashy lights. Bet it would draw guests. And your gear man can sell the drinks behind the bar :-)
Listening day? WHERE??? :D I bet when those 4 almost 10's move like this the bass seriously hits hard for sure! A pair of ATC 3ways is also a dream of mine!
@@Jonsine Thanks for the reply, I agree with you. I would buy exactly the same ATC you have if I had a permanent room, you made a great choice. But since I keep moving from place to place, I am also really happy with the Kii Three.
Congrats on the speakers Jon they look epic indeed , I thought new speakers need to play at a very low volume for 48 hrs non stop before blasting them, myth or truth?
You need about 100 hours of play through at not super Low but mid volume with bass heavy Music before you start blasting your speakers for longest speaker lives.;)
Eben dein sample pack gekauft..
Hey Jon. How do u like the Fusion Box delay pedal? I love the concept of the bucket brigade delay with a tube drive. A little pricey, but just wondering if u really enjoy the tones enough to justify the price point?
I must be missing something. I have still never heard an in-wall system that has great imaging an natural mids and highs- it always sounds like a modern club. I own have built several media labs and studios, with a range of in-wall, tower and elevated monitors for mixing and mastering mains. No matter who (Meyer Sound, Clark, etc) we have used, I can tell you that even sets of $250K+ in-wall studio Ausperger’s and the like are not even close to even $20K well-chosen “tower” mains. We’ve used ATC, PMC, and other “top” brands of in-wall. From an engineering standpoint, there are issues with even recessing to wall-parallel any speaker, and true in-walls have other issues that have to be compensated for (at least as well as possible). Theoretically, you could geometry and materials engineer a wall and monitor unit to work more optimally than what you find in even the most well-known studios- but i think, why make a complex task even more challenging. As such, I have moved back to in-room mains and nears. What am I missing?
@@reasonable1 i think it was more than one second and i stopped immediately after i realized what i did but sadly it was not fast enough but luckily i didnt do any damage to any car or any pedestrian and i didnt cause the traffic to stop btw i received "anhörung"

What did you exactly mean with the bass btw? Nice speakers man! One of your dreams came true congrats bro! Time to show us your beautiful lady her reaction!

it is just temporary the entire front wall will get another finish
the track on found frequencies is so good
How do they sound in comparison to eve's? The mids and the bass...?
Damn those are big! Very nice! Have fun making big hits my friend. Enjoy

ATC is one of the top companies for making flat response monitors

Great speakers, whats that yellow damper you use?
Amazing 🤩, you’ve finally got the near perfect ATC studio monitors! Hope COVID-19 will be over soon, so we can listen to them on an open studio day.
I hope so too!

Congratulations on your amazing speakers!!!! Im so jealous, but u deserve them more than i do. 😊
Thank you so much!

can you make a comparison with the Kii Three? (aside from the obvious difference in loudness and how a large speaker can fill the room)
Kii's are better for less threatened rooms in a good room the Atc's kill them but just my opinion

Hey, mate. Could you do some measurements for us? Maybe share the .mdat with us to compare with our average systems? haha
will be in tomorrows video actually
Aren't those speakers usually mounted with metal rods in the wall instead of "being put on a stand"?
you can mount them in a lot of ways. we followed for the most part the recommended guid by the manufacturer
can you measure these new speakers, so we can compare your new ones to the old ones, would be interesting

i think you made a mistake in mounting your speakers like this. This is not proper soffit mounting
we build it to spec and it sounds and measures very well
