The blinkers on the steering wheel was such an Amercian idea.
Bring the winkers back!!!
Indicator buttons on the steering wheel are not a problem. You simply stick a red dot over the right-hand button Red=Right. Then in daylight you can always differentiate which is which. And at night when the buttons are illuminated, the left is the one lit.... Light=Left.
The trick with the indicators on roundabouts is that you don’t need to figure out which button to press. It will *always* be the bottom one because you only ever have this issue when turning right off a roundabout.
Thanks. I made a test drive of the Model 3 yesterday. Didn’t figure that out in the 25 minutes I borrowed it.
I was affraid of the blinkers, but 3-4 days in new model 3 and I am already getting used to blinkers when leaving roundabouts. First day was difficult though I must say. Quietness is very good. I remember first time seating in 2023 model 3 few month ago, and I was like: "what the f...this is an electric car, it supposed to be quiet here and it is not", and I was driving like 50km/h in the city. And above 100km/h my 2008 diesel volvo was quiter, at least that was my impresion. In the new 3 noise level is very good (quiet).
Good review btw!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad that you got used to the blinkers.
How do you get used to those buttons when leaving the roundabouts?
@@danielstoicamusic Well, Now that I have driven more than a week in it, I know from experience that when I am already on the roundabout and turing left (from when I enter), my steering wheel is turned approximatelly 180 deg (probably slightly less than that), so the turn signal buttons are where my right hand is. Then when leaving, I have to press "right turn signal" which at this moment is the bottom one of the two bottons under my right hand. Sometimes I have to look at the steering wheel for the blink of an eye (which of course you don't have to do on the cars with stalks) but that is not a problem - people spend much more time looking at the screens that every car has nowadays. That's about roundabouts, you can do it. Recently though, I found out that I have problem finding correct button when quickly going from drive to reverse at the low speeds (for example when I want to do U-turn on a narrow street and I need to repeat manouver 2-3 times). This is something I do much less often than driving on roundabouts, so had less oportunities to practice. In summary - stalks have been and will always be easier and more intuitive to use. But you can live with buttons on the steering wheel, even thogh it is not ideal solution.
@@danielstoicamusic eventually with reps your right hand will learn
Seat comfort?
Simple and transparent, love it.
Norway, beautiful land ❤
Thank you sir!
Thank you for actually focusing and insisting on the problem of the lacking indicator stalks in roundabouts. Too many on RUclips talk it down as solely a "getting used to"-problem but it's a serious problem that you have to look at the steering wheel searching for the indicator in stead of looking at traffic when having to turn out of the roundabout. If people just stop using the indicator in roundabouts they will get less efficient and more dangerous.
Tesla ought to take this into account when thinking of their European buyers. Give us the option to add stalks when buying a new Tesla model 3.
Thank you for the comment! It will be a problem for a lot of people for sure. Luckily, I am pretty sure Enhanced Auto is working on third party stalks!
sexy buttons company will fix Retrofitted stalks ;) @@RoamingNorway
Thank you for posting. I'm going to be driving one of these a lot.
Thank you for your review!
Awesome Review. You are so transparent and honest.
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Thank you. Best included sound system.
A fantastic sound system!
Great review, keep up the great job
This is so interesting and insightful, subscribed. So different from all the other channels.
Thanks!
This is such a good looking car and the quality for the price is very much worth.
Just put a raised sticker on top blinker. So you just press it and you know what side blinker your using.
Great review! First time I heard you can shift gears while in motion for Tesla. That’s crazy
You can, and I use it all the time :)
Great review telling people what matters how it drives not there's scratchy bits near your feet im 71 and drive an astra it does for me but the Tesla is the way to go,
Can't wait to get one!
I’ve had my Model 3 SR for a month, and i can tell you the sound system is great, the bass is still great evan without subwoofer, cheers👍
That is fantastic to hear!
It's not as good as the Long Range. I had an SR for 4 years. Neve getting the base model again.
Great video! I've decided to go for the SR. Would love, if you get some snow/low temperatures over there soon, to test how the RWD handles. 😃
Noted! I will try to get the RWD for test.
You know you can get a discounted model ordered directly from tesla with less than 4k down payment and a total no more than 20 grand with a ref code.
HW4.0 has an improved GPS antena (according to @greentheonly) maybe this is why it is following the tunel. Or maybe it just computes predicted position in tunnel (by knowing speed and the trajectory on the map).
Thanks for the info!
Great review, first one I’ve seen that confirms the model comes with HW4
Thanks! I appreciate it!
thanks for the great video. I made a test drive by myself today and enjoyed exactly the same car. I must have can't get enough so I came back here to watch your video :) that would very very nice if you could test the rear-wheel-drive Highland with 19-inch wheels sometime.
Hey, thanks for the awesome feedback! Great you got to test drive the same car. 😎 I'm definitely considering the rear-wheel-drive Highland for a future vid, but I am not sure if I am able to get one right now. Keep an eye out, and keep enjoying the rides!
Thank you for a great review, I’m looking forward to the refresh model Y I will trade in my current model Y when it comes to the UK 🇬🇧
Looking forward to that as well!

I would like to see more about automatic wipers. It seems that the lack of sensor and reliance on a vision is not the best approach. We had a small example of it here in this video when you parked in front of a wall and you had to manually turn them off since they were moving.
They seem just as bad as before.
1:36 at least in Finland you suppose to blink (right) only when exit the roundabout, not when you enter. Like all other drivers did in your video 😁
Great review and valuable since you are driving the pre-highland (if that's a word) yourself. I am tremendeously looking forward to the Model 3 highland performance / ludricous / plaid. It should be awesome while still somewhat affordable. With respect to future tests, I would like to know more details about the hifi system in the long range. Car audio is indeed underrated, there's nothing better than driving on some twisty mountain roads while listening to music.
I am also looking forward to the performance version. I would love to do more on the sound systems, but I am not really an audio guy. But this sound system is excellent! Thanks for the nice comment!

M3 highland performance / ludricous / plaid`?
Elon said 'no' in october
Hi, nice video! I agree with most of your comments. I've been driving a lot with my daughter's '21 model TMY, and have now tried the new M3 highland. A big, big difference to the whole experience of the car. I drive an Audi E-tron 55 SB daily myself, and was very impressed by the driving feel of the M3 highland. One thing I don't agree with you about is the gear shifter. I will never get to know the gear shifter on the steering wheel. Worked very well on the screen from the start.😉👍🏻
I can see that you are probably in the starting phase as a RUclipsr? I wish you the best of luck going forward, and look forward to following along.👍🏻
Just making some videos to see where it goes, thanks for the nice comment!
Removing the stalks was a step back IMHO. Tesla made the touchscreen bezel slimmer to fit the drive selector! LOL
Have the blinkers used on roudabouts for more than a month. At first it was hard, but now easy peasy. Just click right hand bottom button for small roundabounds (instead of left hand upper). I actually like it more than stalks.
Glad you got used to them !
05:40 While I haven't driven the Model 3, I think it's quite easy. Normally, when you blink left, you press on the lowest button. When you turn the wheel, you will have on the right-side, the right blinker button, which now is in the lowest position again.
The same applies for the right blinker. You start from the top-most button and the "exiting" button will come to be on the top-most area on the opposite hand
The interior screams for more ambient lighting. Especially underneath the decorative strip on the dashboard
Agreed
I would hope they return the indicator stocks with the Performance model! Can not imagine a Performance = fast car without ability to indicate direction fast and no way the current set up allowing for it let not mention the dis-concentration of the road ahed as to briefly look at the indicator knobs. Same as the speedo when not directly in front of you I found quite often move my vision to the screen as too check the speed when passing speed cameras. Shame really that such small but very important features will put off many potential new buyers. I am already looking at alternatives because of those.
I don't think they will do that.
If you can afford a P then 1k extra for stalk would be no problem, 🏎
I’m getting anxious of looking through that dirty windshield😄
It was quite dirty on both sides!
@@RoamingNorway great video by the way!
Ive gotten used to it, like it now not having the stalks.
But if you really want a stalk Enhauto will launch an aftermarket stalk soon
Nice to know it’s possible to get used to! Still seems a little difficult!
@@RoamingNorway just learned to keep my hand on the button instead of moving them around. Takes some time though
My legacy car had blinkers on a right side stalk. My Model 3 had blinkers on a left side stalk. After putting it into reverse when trying to indicate a left turn I thought how do I get used to this.
Of course after a day or so you adapt.
A test drive of the Highland had the problem again, this time with the steering wheel turning button. Again, I will adapt - and quickly I expect.
I am sure. Just annoying with new stuff, as always!
They should really texture the left and right indicator buttons differently so you can tell them by feel.
Not a bad idea!
Thank you for actually talking and not making a "silent movie" which is irritating.
Thanks!

I'm jealous, the specs haven't yet been announced for the US version Highland Model 3.
I’m sure the specs will be very similar, if not the same👌
@@RoamingNorway Unfortunately for those of us in the US, Shanghai builds with better quality than Fremont, CA. I hope that the Shanghai design team is put in charge of the Model Y Juniper update.
Seems like the ones from Austin looks good, maybe Fremont will follow when they update the assembly line @@scotduckrow8524
@@RoamingNorway Berlin Model Ys are superb quality also.
Absolutely. Will have one on test soon. @@scotduckrow8524
I think if u put steering in sports mode its lock to lock is less and then if you keep hands at 10 and 2 like motor sport driver should be able to have left hand on blinkers all the time or more often
Nope, not enough steering ratio.
Interesting that you have to blink when entering AND leaving a roundabout in Norway. In Germany we just have to blink when leaving.
Not required by law, but you really are supposed to do it.
Insane value haha, r u kinding
lets hope insurance companys isn't demanding higher cost since blinkers is defective, It may depend on how many incidents/crashes. If sales goes down becauce no stalks, they may re-introduce them, like they re-introduce round stearing wheel on the model s plad.
I don't think it will cause more accidents actually. Just annoying.
I think the new indikator system without the stalks is a potensial danger, because you have to take your eyes of the road. Using this in roundabouts can vipse accidents.
I am planning to buy my first car in norway. I live in Oslo do you think Rwd would be good enough for conditions here ?
Absolutely, if you invest in good winter tyres.
Unfortunately, most people don't blink in roundabouts, so not that big a deal. But after market stalks are coming for those that do, and can't get used to the buttons.
That’s a way to look at it
well it is a Reqiered rule here in scandinavia
@@RoamingNorwayIf you keep your hands on the 10 and 2 (or 9 and 3) positions, like you did in some of your sharp none roundabout turns, your left hand stays where the buttons are on the roundabouts. You have to learn not to do hand over hand on the roundabouts, which is actually improper. Unfortunately, we learn those bad habits without thinking about it because it feels more natural. In reality, we truly only need to do that on sharp U-turns.
If you watch profesional drivers closely, such as in Grand Prixs, their hands never leave the steering wheel. It's too dangerous. We just get lazy and stop doing it correctly.
@@junehanzawa5165the motions are exaggerated for this review. I tested a few techniques and found it difficult. I’m sure I would find something that would work OK. I know you are not supposed to cross hands.
Instead of looking at the signaling buttons you can place your thumb on the bulge between the 2 buttons and then move your thumb with the direction you want to steer - which will be clockwise for right and counterclockwise for left
It is not that easy when the steering wheel moves from straight to upside down.
Most reviewers say it’s not a problem, you don’t need to figure which button…
I don't understand what is the big issue with the blinkers. In Norway no one uses blinkers anyway!!! At least in Oslo. I test drove the new Tesla model X plaid, it has no stoke and comes with the yoke and I had no problem to drive it. It is a bit challenging in the first curves and roundabouts, but 10 minutes after it seems already very normal. I actually prefere it in comparison to the round steering wheel with 3 or 4 stokes hanging on the wheel. In my opinion the new tech is much better.
S3XY buttons are going to sell a lot of stalk retrofits. Silly thing to say but here we are
I was curious - can you not indicate/use blinkers using voice commands? Or any auto blinking based from map data?
Tesla does not like to base stuff on map data. Just some basic EU regulation stuff.
@@RoamingNorwaymakes sense 🙏 thanks for the thorough overview
I believe after -market blinker stalks will be coming from the guys who make the S3XY buttons.
Are you 110% it has hardware 4.0? I've been asking Tesla in the UK and they can't confirm it has... Bizzare!
Up - right down - left same af
how is the quiet level on highway?
Very good!
MAKE SURE GLASS OVER WIPERS ARE CLEAN. THATS WHY IT GOES OFF. SUCKS BUT ANY DEBRIS MAKES IT GOES OFF.
It looks like Tesla continues to improve the major functions of the car, such as ride and handling, but they really hurt the experience by cost cutting measures like eliminating stalks, deleting radar, and then deleting the sensor for "automatic" wiper blades. Too much reliance on automation where it isn't necessary, such as the glove box. The car probably drives like a dream otherwise but I have issues.
Saving cost by removing stalks will get expensive for Tesla because it lowers demand for otherwise excellent car.
Maybe, I think a lot of people will buy it regardless.
It is quite dangerous as I see it. This one thing holding me back having this car.
4:18 Norwegians don't know how to use turn signals at a roundabout and which direction it goes in circular motion
blinker buttons on the steering wheel is just an idiotic change. At least put the buttons on the different side of the wheel. Left and right
Many people believe that is the best solution yeah
16:23 they did it to cut costs ofcourse as with the the stalks things that isent absolutly nessecerry to driver the car so whay put in Ventilated seats i wonder That is absloutly not that important. maybe cut Heated seats to that is more unsesecerry then the stalks in my opinion if they are after cutting costs.
It wasn't just to save costs. It is to try to make the car as minimal as possible. But roundabouts do seem to be an issue. Not many roundabouts here in the US
No way I’m going ever buying a car without indicator stalks or wiper stalks
Just a step too far
No fog lights and no display behind wheel or heads up is just a step too far to cut costs
I prefer the old look. This look like a honda civic from 1994
I do not agree, but car styling is very subjective!
i absolutely hate seeing comments from people saying "you will get used to the blinkers" or "i am getting used to the blinkers" because that's just purely changing your habits and accepting bad user and safety designs. The placement of the indicators are terrible and are a huge safety concern that I hope the driving regulations in Europe catch on to and force Tesla to change back. Don't reward companies for their stupid decisions. They have ruined an otherwise perfect car.
Good input. I do wish they were on the normal stalk.
no informative video , only drive .
True!
Why the ambient lighting looks like shit at night hah
Jesus Christ, man! Thanks for the video but please, PLEASE, take a driving lesson. What are you doing with your hands while the turn? You are all over the steering wheel. It hurts.
It’s just to show the buttons I’m pressing, not possible in a normal driving position with both hands planted.
