    For breaking on trafic lights on tunnel on your release notes you don’t have the new « go on green trafic light » we have it her in Switzerland on now they don’t stop for each traffic light if green before that every trafic light need to be confirmed even on tunnel like you in this example.

    Vision based speed limits have been available for a long time on my HW3 Tesla Model S. So this is strange but it works poorly. It would be fixed it autopilot would actually understand speed limit rules. For example, a bit annoyance is that autopilot does not know the difference between a zone or not. If you drive in a 30 street it will keep it at 30 until it reads. 50/80 speed limit sign. On highways it still is garbage

    I have a 2024 highland and live in Norway as well, and got the update for a couple days ago... but I didn't get the "vision speed limits"? Is it because the car already can do that? Or it's only for people with enhanced autopilot etc? Thanks!

  • @_clemens_
    @_clemens_ 2 дня назад

    My highland does already read signs before this update...but still it is terrible, as it does not know the rules that signs only are valid until the next cross section (if not zone). Also it misses signs now and then...My guess is that it is proably mainly tuned for the American market. Lets see when I get this update and if it became better.

    The Tesla charge port also has some shortcomings. E.g. an unlock button is missing. You don't always have a Tesla cable with a button and without it, unlocking is really clumsy. The button belongs on the car, not the cable.

    One issue I experienced many times in your country (in my uk MYLR) was when there are temporary lanes marked in YELLOW but with the normal lanes in WHITE still visible. This really confuses autopilot and Tesla will need to teach the system to understand coloured lines! (Over here when temp lanes are marked then the normal lanes are removed or painted out) Perhaps something to test in your M3?

    • @RoamingNorway
      @RoamingNorway 3 дня назад

    I’m very jaded and I look for the lawyer in every decision. If I get frustrated and cut the flimsy protective caps off the BMW then experience some big battery failure, they can say I tampered with the vehicle’s electronics protection system and in some countries, potentially try to deny coverage. Even if the issues are unrelated. It’s a grim perspective, but there’s almost always some truth to it.

    You can get a Chademo CCS2 adapter for Leaf. Costs about 1k€. Some links are in @Dala's EV garage channel. It's slower charging than i3, if you count range achieved per time. About same max power, but i3 is more efficient and Leaf is famous for rapidgate. People have changed 60 Ah batteries to 120Ah. There has been even 120Ah with rex for that reason. I have seen in Finland wider rims and tyres in i3. Not sure if it's legal. 60 Ah model is not for roadtrips. 90Ah with Rex might be. I looked that 200 km is moderately easy, if not driving in highway 120km/h. Driving 90 to 100 km/h saves a lot range, and Rex allows to drive the battery empty without risk. But the ICE needs maintenance, and Rex models don't have heat pump. One can look ABRP (a better route planner) for favorite routes. 60Ah was that time a pain in the ass.. for 200 km it needed 2 charging sessions and it was faster to drive 90 km/h in 120 speed limit road. 120Ah most likely goes without changing @100 km/h. The route I was going to drive didn't have very good charging infra that time. If range is 100 km, 30 km distance between chargers is quite a lot.. that time I was driving for weekend 200+200 km, no destination charging, but of course if you stay two nights, it's easy to slow charge from household socket. Or visit a supermarket for charging. 120Ah would be now good enough for me. I still would go 200 km to see relatives. In winter one must likely drive slower and charge close to destination for 15 min (10kWh) and offer to drive to shopping mall to charge full before leaving to home. The shopping malls chargers are often quite low power, so the efficiency is issue, i3 gets range faster because of efficiency.

    Just upgrade, I had 2017X, 2019 3P, 2023 YP, now 2024 3PH in red/black combo. The euro one is quicker than the old panasonic 3P by about 0.2 seconds (measured by Teslabjørn). But haven had the 2019 3P I would say the gain in accelleration isnt why I think this car is superb, it is the refinements in noise cancellation (very silent cabin), it is the improvement of the suspension (not buncy anymore!). The adaptive dampers with drive modes means that its much better than before, its also got upgraded sway bars etc. For some reason I also find the sentry mode to be much quicker with large SSD (2 Tb NVME drive I have in an USB-C enclosure). Even on the 2023 YP with Ryzen MCU loading the sentry clips took "ages", now it loads instantly. I did check this on the Y and the 3PH when I picked it up, so its much quicker.. I dont know if they did something to increase sentry in the hardware (usb speed or something else?). Cameras of the HW4 are very nice of an upgrade, stereo upgrade is also nice.. I also enjoy the cooled seats, when my gf and son are cold in the rear seat and Im hot in front, I can manally set my seat to cooling. It is my first car with actively cooled seats, but I now see what the fuzz is about. Missing stalks I got used to after some kms. The new 3P is more RWD bias.. It is bt also a bit quicker at higher speeds than the old euro one, as at high speeds the front motor tapers off. Forged wheels on the new model are quite light! With removal of the largest aero caps they also look quite nice.

Hopefully full support for non-Tesla chargers will be added to the Tesla navigation.

    I have been doing some more digging on this topic. While I see others reporting that the Highland is more efficient I kept thinking about this video. Then I was looking at fueleconomy.gov for the EPA rated range and I noticed something that few are paying attention to. The pre-refresh Model 3 gets more efficiency on the highway at 126mpge in both RWD and LR trims. The Highland RWD gets 125mpge highway, and LR gets 124mpge highway. Where the Highland is listed as more efficient is in the city. It picks up roughly 2 mpge in the city. To me this says the new Highland is NOT as aero slick as the pre-refresh car. There could be other factors like tires selection and other variables. But I think you are one of the few to actually detect this drop in efficiency. Everyone else says that the Highland is more efficient. If you have a mix of city driving that may be true. But if you use it for mostly highway driving like I do it appears the EPA numbers have the devil in the details of the city vs highway mix. I think you nailed it. Brilliant work. Subscribed.

    so YOU are the one who leaves families in the dust not knowing whether there's a playground at a charging station!! ;) I must say: ABRP usually asks me these questions only once the charging has started, so your experience confuses me, but it's important that this feature exists, since different people have different needs. gathering this info will let people say "I prefer to stop at chargers that have a shop or toilets." - ABRP definitely does have multiple display modes (not only North Up), too, and it leads me directly to the chargers selected. Maybe this charging station would've needed more of your information that you were unwilling to give! ;)
