Good topic John! The 45 colts pressures (14k) are so low it is a natural for souping it up. (20k ish) There really should be official three levels. IMHO 14k, 20k & 30k levels. If in doubt, stay @ 14k cause your probably correct.
Last target..... a couple of rounds/bullets struck SIDEWAYS. I see this in 357 Magnum ammo, if the bullet is soft, BH #12, hotly loaded soft bullets don't grip the riflings very well. Back your loads down till all bullets fly straight.
Yeah, I noticed that but forgot to put it in the video. Those bullets are supposed to be hard cast, so I'll have to work on those! Thanks for watching!
@@30-06john If I am correct. We can get the 45LC Henry rifles to shoot 300 grain XTPs a bit higher velocity than the 44 magnum 300 XTP in the identical rifle. It makes sense if we have more volume to work with.
Thank you I asked about 45plus P 2ish weeks ago . Very appreciated ,thanks again. I'll do my part with this information, safely.
I remember and I hope this helps! Plenty of data out there. Thanks for watching!

Hello CW! Yeah, Handloader magazine had a great article on just what you are talking about, I think the April 2022 issue.
Good info
Thanks, and thanks for watching!

That would be a hot load for a 45 Colt but the Henry action can take it. Stay safe!
Not bad power on those. Quite a versitile cartridge 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
Oh yes, the 45 Colt is very useful! Have a great day!
