This is pretty cool, I just got into gundam about 4 months ago, and my buddy just gave me a spare heavy arms. So I'm planning on trying to weather it so the gundam pops out more. So this gives me an idea on how it will go.
Very nice and very effective weathering. Thank you for sharing your technique. I have the Gundam markers and your video showed me a better way to use them.
Sorry if bothering :D Since it's my first time doing custom so I need your help for some questions: 1, If I only use marker to paint my kit, is putting coating fine for the marker to stay? Or do I need to add a primer? 2, If I need a primer, what kind of primer is good? I gotta spread the budget to buy some markers also :( 3, What's your suggestion for markers from your experience? Dspiae and hobby mio caught my eyes with their chisel tip marker.
primer can provide better surface to catch the paint on it, but u can try use dspiae directly on plastic surface , dspiae seems good for direct paint on plastic surface. if the appearance is the satisfy, then consider use primer before painting
Really nice video, these markers look amazing! Do you happen to know how long these markers last? I want to use them for a few kits and i hope they can last long.
thanks I guess this marker can last for at least 2 years if you not touch it much, it will better to spray a flat clear coating after use of the marker, it will last for few years
Thank you for the tutorial, i am going to tried weather my new gunpla which is hg Zaku2 origin and you certainly has help me Does it have to be semi gloss coating or can any other coating like flat premium or something like that?
I m glad that it helps you, semi gloss coating is provide a slight rough surface for catch the paint on the plastic surface , I m afraid the flat coating is too rough so the paint is hard to rub by cotton bud. If you really want to use flat coating with real touch marker, you may find a small piece or the useless parts to try it first, hope this suggestion could help you🤗
the semi gloss and flat coat can provide the rough surface to let the paint catch on the plastic surface. Flat coat is much more rough than semi gloss, so the paint use on flat coat will not easy to rub off by the cotton bud like what I do in the movie, but flat coat still can work for that. I suggest to use semi gloss on white plastic and flat coat for other color
Do you have to clear coat before applying the markers? Or can you apply the weathering directly on the plastic? Also, do you have to use a gloss top coat at the beginning or can you also use matte?

not gonna lie, why it's so relaxing to watch this even tho I don't have a plan to weathering my Gunpla...

Great skill❤❤
Wow. Awesome job. Did you paint at all before the top coat? Or did you do this on the plastic directly?
spray a semi gloss coat before paint it
Do you finish with another clear coat? Or just let the markers work dry and that’s all.
Thank you great work.
i will spray a flat coating at the end of the work, flat coating will look great and also can protect the paint from fading
太厲害了吧🎉
I got brainwashed by the background voice, good vid

@@gundammor thank you for the answer and suggestion
Instead of grey, what colour do you use for a Zaku? Great video btw.
sorry for late reply, can use the deep green color to do the shading and brown for rusting also
Is there any different if i use flat coat instead of semi-gloss. Does it provides different suface?
the semi gloss and flat coat can provide the rough surface to let the paint catch on the plastic surface. @@gundammor thank you!
I just traveled to Tokyo and I'd like to know more about gunpla. Do you know any kind of club to meet gunpla lovers and share knowledge?
I m sorry , i don't know
Good tutorial 👍
Can i do this with a Matte toocoat?
yes, but the matt coating may be too rough for rubbing the paint, semi gloss can easy rub and spread the paint

Nice one !
Do you need any alcohol or water for the cotton to clean the marker ink ? is dry cotton bud enough ?
thanks
just dry cotton , easy to use , lets try🤗
I wonder what it looks like with chrome paint instead? 🤔
喷保护漆的时候你戴的什么口罩啊?那个是油性的来着吧
油性油要用防毒面罩

What are the real touch markers really for? I can’t read Japanese, so it’s hard for me to know.
Description
A marker that allows you to easily express dirt and blur paint with a realistic touch.
In consideration of safety, we have adopted a water-based wiping type.
Equipped with two types of nibs, thin and thick.
GM400 is a pen for blurring the already painted GM401 - GM410.
Let's use it when blurring the boundary surface.
If the tip of the pen becomes dirty, clean it with a tissue.
If the dirt becomes difficult to remove, use a new blur pen.
* Cannot be used with the Gundam Marker Airbrush System.
How do you use this technique in black parts? Like the Nu gundam, can I just use a more soft grey?
this method may not work on deep color , may need other acrylic paint for help
Is the semi gloss coat at the start nesisary?
the semi gloss coat is to provide a rough surface which the paint can catch on the plastic surface, just plastic surface still can work, but the result may hard to be good
How many kits would you estimate each marker will last?
I don't really count it, at least can make 3 1/144🤔,it based on how to use, if you just make slightly weathering, it may last for 10 or over, I guess
Is it ok if I don't top coat it before using the marker? I top coat after
a semi gloss coating can provide a rough surface so that the paint can catch on the smooth plastic surface.
@@gundammor ooooh I see. Thanks for clarification! Have a wonderful new year!
Great tips, but is that a guy playing dark souls in the background? 😂
yes, the guy playing dark soul🤣🤣🤣
What kind of marker is that? I noticed the ink dries really slow which I need
real touch marker is water based, dry slow, which that we can rub the paint by cotton bud
Before n after lah.plisss sama reviewnya
what is the purpose of spraying it with semi gloss coating?
to provide a rough surface which the paint can catch on the plastic surface
@@gundammor Will it helps with Posca as well ?
