I’m in the market for a 458 and I would be inclined to buy the Italia and with the left over money a 992 4S. There is no doubt the Speciale has slightly better looks, a little more power, a little more carbon and those stripes. Not sure if I would pay another 160,000 for this wonderful looking car when the Italia does everything at 97% for half the price. Thanks for your review Jay Emm.

I’ve owned every generation of mid-engine V8 from 430 - Pista. The 488 GTB will out perform the Speciale in every metric while looking prettier IMHO and having a far better interior. The thing with dream cars though is they are not rational choices, they are choices that are made from emotion and passion. If it’s solely rational choice, 430 Scud will perform nearly as well as a Speciale while being more affordable, more engaging, and more special and charming. For all out performance the 488GTB is rational it’ll outperform the Speciale everywhere every time. One of the best sure, but the best - thats in the eye of the beholder. I personally prefer the 991.2 GT3 RS quicker around a track and more engaging through the twisties. The backend of the 458 was just never that great.
Actually I find that really cool. If Cpt. Slow himself considered not letting his 458 Speciale go after the arrival of Pista, then it's got to be special. Also as I grow older I think I can relate with Mr. May more than Mr. Clarkson.
Ok everyone, try and take this all in the context of people that act entitled and this guy takes the cake. There was a time when people only test drove cars THAT WEREN'T THEIRS at a dealer and ONLY when they were qualified potential buyers. jay sound loud and proud.
Sorted the audio 👍
458's look so good in white
What could i get the pissa for if i traded in my 150000 mile vauxhall movano van with just 1 previous owner ?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
NA veeeee8.
Nice shirt
Amazing car!
One of my favs
Very random question but has anyone retrofitted a 488 steering wheel in a 458? I'd assume they're really similar
A great video about a damn damn good car.
How to double the views! Like it
Thanks for the video jimbo (apologies if you don't like that name. I have been deemed a jimbo by certain friends so certainly don't mean any offence!)
*I've heard he actually prefers to be called "Jemma" J from the Jay .... then emma from the Emm*
Finally , something good
The audio is fixed🎉
Which modern super car is better than a 458 Speciale as an all rounder package?
The soon to be 992 gt2rs
If it’s met your (very high) expectations, what greater cars have there been in the last 25yrs?
Please produce your own video on this.
I think you need to try this on a race track…
So what would you put at the Top of Greatest Drivers cars of last 25 years list?
I think it wont be long before Ferrari bring out a naturally aspirated V8 hybrid mid engine replacement. After all, its where the demand is
@@Billy-Whizz Will they?
How do you drive this sports car without a clutch pedal?
Using the others?
Right pedal is throttle. Left is brake. Steering wheel is the round button-y thing in front, and changing gears is by the two flapping ears behind steering wheel. Simple as that...?
@@AntoniusTyas hit both paddles at once and you get neutral.
Has to be in red, speaking of millenium , I am doing a list of my top 20 cars I would buy since year 2000. You should do a video on your fav 10 or 20 cars since 2000.
Whats a list when you cant afford it?
@@betac0re just a bit of fun. I did same thing in 1999 , had my top 10 cars of 20th century I would love to own if had the money

Just so happened to make a list of my 20 dream cars not too long ago, just had to swap out the lotus Carlton, 365 Daytona, and XJC
Boo red is so boring
@@BPF80MCar-vi1pg no it is not ,stands out
How odd, I was just thinking about Vicki Butler-Henderson's video of her testing the 458 spider and the lucky chap who had to squeejee out the drivers seat when she'd finished her piece and low and behold her advert cuts in on this fine edition of JayEmm .
Did the algorithm read my mind????????
.... maybe
Lovely car.
Nice shirt
It's an amazing car, the very best sports car of its time. McLaren to beat it, had to order (yes, not make), turbos engines for their cars.
Just say NO to turbo's!
soo time to rob a bank then😁!
It's all downhill from here then.
@@johnshaw359 Drive the Pista.
Fine-tooth - just to be picky. Nice video
One of the best sure, but the best - thats in the eye of the beholder. I personally prefer the 991.2 GT3 RS quicker around a track and more engaging through the twisties. The backend of the 458 was just never that great.
Good lord it sounds as good as a gt3😊.
Better.
@richardharrold9736I feel the other way around.
I think the GT3 sounds better myself (out of the factory)
The James May Ferrari… then try to explain that it’s cool
Actually I find that really cool. If Cpt. Slow himself considered not letting his 458 Speciale go after the arrival of Pista, then it's got to be special. Also as I grow older I think I can relate with Mr. May more than Mr. Clarkson.
Ok everyone, try and take this all in the context of people that act entitled and this guy takes the cake. There was a time when people only test drove cars THAT WEREN'T THEIRS at a dealer and ONLY when they were qualified potential buyers. That has now gone completely out the window: Now we live in a world of SOME people feeling entitled to drive OTHER PEOPLE'S cars, and that we are supposed to care about the verbal diarhrea those self important people spew about those cars. Really, what does it say about people who do that...
458's look like Sid the Sloth from the rear.(and 488)
Sounds excellent.
You just ruined this car for me
@richardharrold9736though not as fugly as the 360's front
