Totally agree with the comment that the sound, the capability and the ease of being able to wring the 458's neck without crapping your pants is unbelievably easy. I drove one in 2015 and then a 488 later in 2020 and the 458 obliterated the 488 for visceral sound and amazing experience. The 488 sounded like it was gargling marbles. V8 NA all the way. Awesome video, now a subscriber! Thank you
I don't care what era you are in 0 - 60 in, 3 seconds is hella fast, and of course the handling is unbelievable because it's a Ferrari so not only is it fast but you can drive it fast
Love the 458 Speciale, the 488 Pista is much more fun, more aggressive, has a different sound due to the turbos, but very good, at the limit with aids turned off it is one of the craziest cars of the last few decades! About the F40, I've been working with this type of car for over 15 years, and we've tested dozens of F40s, all of them have always had more power than declared by the factory, if they are 87 European ones, they have more than 600hp and are even lighter than declared. also!
I haven't driven a Pista before, but that would be a great car to test in the near future! As for the F40, I have never heard anything of the sort, to be making 600hp back then is unreal!
Most excellent video! I really enjoyed the two of you together and hope you do many more, starting with the Porsche CGT. I had to subscribe after watching this!
Absolutely!! I like his level of engagement and he clearly likes sharing his collection with you and us!! Hopefully you can bring more!! Keep the high quality goods coming one way or another!! Thanks!!
458 is as close in a DCT to coming close to the almighty gated gearbox in a 355, F40 etc. F355 is beyond amazing to drive and makes all the F1 sounds while rowing gated gears. Ferrari is the best at judging and matching all components of the car.
Awesome video and a real driving enthusiast it seems. If the driver is serious about enjoying all the sounds, vibrations, and sweaty palms I would highly encourage him to buy a Gen 2 Viper that is properly sorted and maintained. Nothing has come close to visceral driving experience while still being quick enough to keep up with modern stuff. Forza Ferrari and Hell yeah Viper!
Beautiful sound 😊 recently drove both NA FN2 and turbo FL5 TypeR.. similarly l came out hot sweaty and heart racing on the cheaper older slower FN2 and that’s what I keep thinking about after few months later
Why do so many YT Channels dedicated to sharing exceptional vehicles with viewers only shoot video Facing the passengers vs out the windshield? I could care less about seeing the people - it’s ALL ABOUT WHAT THAT FEELING IS TO DRIVE IT WHICH IS BEST EXPERIENCED LOOKING OUT THE WINDSHIELD, not at You!
The first time I drove a Ferrari... I CRIED... literally. "WHAT A WAY TO GO". HAHAHAHAHA!!! For me the ideal Ferrari combo is the Speciale / F12 Berlinetta.
I have a soft spot for the F12, the La Ferrari is great, but I give points more for the 458 for being the platform from which the La Ferrari was built, and the F50 is stupendous...but I would struggle to call it modern....
I think you will find that is not a Ferrari. It might have stolen a 458 engine for development, but as I said in the video, what makes a Ferrari great isn't just performance, sooooo I respectfully disagree. Great car, but not on the same level as the Speciale
Speciale and TDF are the 2 best modern Ferrari’s ever made!!!
Mid-engine V8 & front engine V12, can't say I disagree!

Thanks for chiming in, and for supporting the channel mate!
Just found this channel and I don’t know why you don’t have more subscribers. Excellent content!
Much appreciated mate! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Exactly, even faster means nothing

Another great video. Especially great photography of the car. You also really caught the sound of the car
Much appreciated my friend! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Fantastic! Thank you for bringing us along and please do more videos together.
We will definitely try to, glad you enjoyed the video!
WOW at those tunnel sections!!!
Most excellent video! I really enjoyed the two of you together and hope you do many more, starting with the Porsche CGT. I had to subscribe after watching this!
That is so kind of you to say mate! Glad you enjoyed the video, it looks like more people voted for the CGT, so we will see if we can make it happen!
Great video!! The filmography, dialogue….the car!! THE SOUND!!! Yes, more please!! All of them!!
Thank you mate! Hoping we will do a few more videos with the owner, everyone seems to enjoy them, and I can assure you I love making them!

I agree 100%, it is the only DCT car I have ever driven that gave me the same enjoyment as a traditional manual.
458 Speciale is simply a pieace of art. Is my favourite Ferrari... NO... It's my favourite CAR. It's Phenomenal car
what a crazy sound!! old school F1, Alonso-Shummacker style! unbeatable!
It really is!
@@carcaveofficial do you recommend I install the ipe full system? Does that have a valve?
Not sure if it has a valve, but it definitely helps open up the sound.
@@carcaveofficial thank you!
@@carcaveofficial is it bearable at low revs? Volume - wise

Viper's look amazing, and you can't ever go wrong with a side-exit exhaust!
Classic car! You have good taste!
Indeed he does!
Yes, speciale is my all time favorite
Same here mate!
Do the Porsche Carerra next, you two make a great team!
That is one vote for the CGT, thanks for watching mate! I will try and make that happen!
Carerra GT please, I totally agree
I am going to post a poll on the channel later this week with 4 cars to choose from, if the two of you get the chance, you should vote!
Magnificent! Thank you! How about the Lotus 260 cup? 😁
The goal is to eventually go through them all! With his blessing of course....
Beautiful sound 😊 recently drove both NA FN2 and turbo FL5 TypeR.. similarly l came out hot sweaty and heart racing on the cheaper older slower FN2 and that’s what I keep thinking about after few months later
Most great things in life leave you hot and sweaty lol
Nice video!
Maybe the original R8 V8 or the original R8 GT would be a good one.
Original R8 is a cool car for sure
Beautiful sound
Indeed it is! Thanks for watching!
Greatest car ever built. Period.
Agreed. Period.
Most people love the style and speed of a supermarket but are too scared to actually put any miles on it. Just drive the thing!
This owner drives ALL his cars, which I agree, is rare but badass!
Yeah! Please more vids with the crazy doctor 😂 with all of his cars!
I will let him know! Thanks for the feedback mate!
I have 2 of these speciale.... one for daily drive n one for investment
That is the best way to do it. Are you the original owner?
Cost of this car rn ??
Roughly $450k-$600k depending on mileage, spec and condition.

Because we are talking, it is more of an interview, but feedback noted, might look into getting some 'out-the-windshield' angles in the future.
Who is the owner? Would love to hear more about his story
I will see if he is open to sharing more about himself in future videos! Thanks for watching!
The first time I drove a Ferrari... I CRIED... literally. "WHAT A WAY TO GO". HAHAHAHAHA!!! For me the ideal Ferrari combo is the Speciale / F12 Berlinetta.
Literally the same two cars I would get!
Agree no turbo's pure V8 sound goodlooking car i take this than the new masarati grantour trofeo 😅😊
No comparison, I would take the Speciale every day of the week
458 Speciale and 812 Competizione are the two best Ferraris of the 2000s.
812 Competizione over an F12 TDF?
Glendora Mountain Road?
Nope, rural road in Mexico with no speed limits
@@carcaveofficial haha😉
@@carcaveofficial so kinda like GMR
Kinda! Are the cars in your profile photo yours?
@@carcaveofficial yes, but sold the pista for a speciale.
Awesome!! 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Whaaaaaaat ! Epic car epic!
Agreed!
Dream car
Future* car
Definitely one of the best Ferraris ever. But I think for it to be the best, it would have to have a V12
Ahhh, but I said best Modern Ferrari, what modern Ferrari with a V12 would you choose over this?

all it needed was a gated six speed
There was one guy that actually did a conversion to a 6-spd!

Excellent cars! and idk....I kinda like the gold. Its unique!
@@carcaveofficial Sure as along as it isn't mine, ha ha. Never liked gold, in the 70's it was all gold and didn't like it then, like it less today.
