I think all medicines for hypertension have side effects, in d long run it will manifest in our body, mental & emotional state of health. Bad if it will be d culprit to kidney, liver & other organ disorder. I think better go to natural healing, look at seniors who lives in the farm and eats fresh fruits & veg, fresh air, no stress lifestyle and at peace because of spiritual closeness to God they live much longer, this is my observation of people living in cities compared to those living close to nature.

I don't know about others, but if I miss a dose my heart gets a bit grumpy (LOL) for a lack of a better term.
But if I take it a bit sooner, it's ok, no gaps! I even talked to my DR a couple of days ago, and asked can I
take 1/2 25mg every 8 hours instead of 1/2 every 12 hours, he said absolutely! So now I take roughly 36mg
a day (instead of 25mg), or 1/2 X 3, since it's the quick release/acting tartrate, and life is good! No more grumpy heart! :)
And by "grumpy heart" I mean, my heart didn't like the gaps, or me missing a dose, it would act up a bit.
I have WPW, (...and a catheter ablation was performed) and WAS having bad (220+ BPM!) tachycardias! Now I get a bit of AFIB, controlled by Metoprolol! :)
*UPDATE:* Well, that was then, NOW I still have AFIB, but had an incident where it (the 150 or so BPM)lasted over 48 hours! Now here is the low down on this. I had watched videos, and I could have sworn, somewhere in one or two of them, I got the impression, that SOMETIMES people experience sustained episodes of AFIB. Well, I decided I would go to ER on Sunday, if they didn't go away, or if my heart didn't get back to a normal beat. They were like WHY did you wait so long?????
I explained. THEN, they explained! If you wait too long, even more than a 1/4 hour sometimes, BLOOD CLOTS can form!!!!! HOLY SHIT I thought, i went 48 hours!!!!!
So, NOW I am on a blood thinner until further notice, and I have to check my BP and BPM very time I am supposed to take a Metoprolol, and IF the SYS BP is below 95, OR my BPM are below 55, HOLD, don't take the pill until things improve. It has taken up to a couple of hours a few times, so I get up and stay busy for awhile to work it out, so to speak.

Well if your heart rate was going up to 220+ even with an ablation then by all means you need some help in controlling the rate!! ?#GoodGriefCharlieBrown!😜 My heart rate is usually around 70-75 without metoprolol. My heart rate did NOT go crazy at all. It's usually around 70-75 bpm which is completely normal!😉
On a side-note: The reason I was prescribed metoprolol in the first place was because I had developed Afib. Although I do Not take the metoprolol anymore I DO take a blood thinner every single day to prevent blood-clot! AFib can cause your blood to to clot during an episode... Which can lead to Stroke! Luckily I'm 28, but you might not be, so this is why it happened; I quit alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, kratom, and other supplements when I was prescribed metoprolol, and my lifestyle changes lowered my BP making me no longer fit to take that dose of metoprolol! I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one.
Is he saying, take a catch-up dose as well as your regularly scheduled pill, or don’t take a catch-up and just resume the next day with your normal dose.
After hearing it twice, I think he means the latter-- but, yes, it was unclear. In a real setting, though, the patient would have him reformulate the answer.

I'm not even going to watch this video. This medication nearly killed me. Swollen throat, shortness of breath, tremendous weight gain, swelling of legs, water retention. The dimwit doctor that prescribed this to me wasn't able to identify the side affects. Eventually, I ended up in the hospital with heart attack symtoms. Even those dildoes didn't recognise what was happening. Once I read the side effects, I immediately stopped taking it and instantly became well. Funny, even my blood pressure dropoped and this was a blood pressure pill. Thanks Daniel Hoffer of Sharp Rees Stealy Clinic in El Cajon, California!

I didn't experience any of those horrible side effects, thank goodness, but it made me so frigging tired all the damn time!? And it really does NOT work well on my BP. I have another med that controls my BP very well. So, what I did at first was I lowered my dose by half, and then Quit the drug completely about 2 weeks ago! I was able to find a well hidden study in 2011 that showed 100% of people of any age or gender taking Metoprolol became diabetic within one year of starting the drug. It took me several months to wean myself off of it because stopping it abruptly caused my heart to skip beats, race and in general go nuts. I later learned that the whole problem with my heart (AFIB), which caused me two strokes was the pain meds prescribed by doctors to treat back & knee issues caused by a drunk ramming my car with a 15 passenger van at over 70 MPH. I also discovered that taking 500 mg's of magnesium dissolving the tablet in my mouth, crushing the crystals, letting them break down in saliva for 15 minutes or so gets the magnesium absorbed in my mouth without affecting my bowels not only stopped the AFIB but lowered my BP to a healthy level, since Magnesium, known as the "MASTER MINERAL" is involved in several hundred critical body functions. Many involving the cardiovascular system.

@@TalkingGIJoe Yes. I agree. In fact I came across a new study of metoprolol with the results published in 2018. It showed that actually this medication did NOT make any significant difference in heart attack, the severity of a heart attack, or surviving a heart attack. The results involved thousands of people over several years. The article stated that the results were very surprising as that's the main reason most doctors prescribe this medicine! The conclusion was that doctors really need to consider this when thinking of prescribing metoprolol!!

    • @SoapinTrucker
      @SoapinTrucker 2 года назад

If you take it at noon and midnight, miss midnight, then take it at noon the next day.
If you simply miss taking it by an hour or two, and suddenly remember, take it.
If it is more than 1/2 of the time gone between does and you remember, wait until the next time you should take it.
They basically don't want us to "double up" the does. Metoprolol has a "half life " if you will, of 3-7 hours, meaning it will be half OUT of your system in 3 to 7 hours, this is the quick acting Metoprolol, the TARTRATE. I THINK this exists at all, to make it easier to clear you so the hospital can use THEIR FAVORITE if need be, like if you go to ER in the middle of the night, they don't have to wait so long to clear your med so they can use what they NEED to at that time.
Too much of these kinds of drugs can reduce your heart rate to dangerous levels.
