These videos are great because you can notice even the smallest pattern in the fish like how they check out the jig and what movement draws a better strike because in the summer when you're fishing blind you don't think about them being right there and just watching your life/jig. You think when you cast and reel (or drop and jig) that when a fish noticeses it that instantly attacks it to strike. You aren't thinking that they are hanging out down there around the lure watching it until it makes that certain movement that triggers them strike. Of coarse some do straight out attack it on sight buy maybe because they were hungry and feeding or maybe it's defending it's nest (usually in the spring/summer) so by being able to watch their behavior can teach the little tricks how to tempt a fish to strike when it wasn't that interested to eat. One thing I do know and this video backs it up is that sometimes you can fish for an hour without a single strike and then you switch lures and just that fast it makes an instant difference and you'll catch something within a couple of casts which clearly showed fish are there they just didn't that first lure for whatever reason. And in the video you dropped the other big and caught that fish that wouldn't attack your first one. What was also neat to see was that pike ignore it, hang out perfectly still for a minute, swim away then turn around and attack it? I wonder if it actually was gonna attack it but realized maybe if it freezes for a minute maybe some other fish would come after it and the pike would attack that fish thus getting a bigger meal??? Or maybe in the background another pike showed up and it decided it had to eat it before the other pike does? Hmmm who knows I'm curious about something. Being you're fishing there in the winter I can assume you probably fish in the summer also. So what I'm curious about is during the summer do you scout out for holes or cuts in the bottom or look for structure and mark these areas so come winter you have a good idea where to set up and drill your holes.
Hey Louis! That is just awesome! Cool you are watching in France. Bet ice fishing is something different for sure. Glad you really enjoy them. Take care!
At 2:47 look at the flo pink jig head inside that bluegills mouth glowing thru his closed mouth. High vis for sure. Thanks Bryan for all your videos. Great job Bro.
I was going to say the same thing but I didn't want to take away from the video. Those are not jumbo perch at least in New Jersey anyway, but great video bud
Right--- They were mostly dinks--- We get beautiful perch here in Wis too!!! (10-15") Plus, His shiner was set too low in the water column-- Since pike are sight feeders, and generally approach the bait from below, or horizontally, we always set our baits higher in the column, so they can creep up on it, or bring them up sometimes just under the ice a foot or two to trigger them into striking-----
Hey Bill, Thanks. Glad you enjoy my videos! I like to keep it simple and to the point. And that is an awesome suggestion for shirt, I always say that too!
Very Cool to be able to see how the fish react to the motions of your jigging ! I was hoping to see some walleye, but the pike was nice ! In Lake Michigan, we used to catch 16 inch lake perch on a regular basis ! Lake Perch are my number one favorite fish to eat !!! I' Subscribing to see more !
@@BryanProkuski as a Central/Southern MN Angler i appreciate it man! I got 3 kids now so can t always get out when id like to! I'm down in burnsville what area are you fishing if you don't mind me asking? I've been fishing crystal and orchard lake but have been thinking of making my way over to prior or maybe up to Tonka
Excellent video very easy to follow and understand. I ice fish the lakes in Nothern Utah and Southern Idaho these lakes are usually snow covered during ice season. The clear ice provides more light for the camera. What is the picture clarity in dark water? I am considering investing in a Marcum camera.
I'm considering buying a underwater camera for ice fishing. We fish clearer water at Leech Lake in a large shack. Will this camera be able to see jigs and fish 12 feet away?
At 5:55 that is a jumbo that destroyed the minnow on the ground!! Another super nice fishing session Bryan, very cool underwater footages!! Too bad that pike cut your line!
Thanks man! Ya that was a tank perch that picked up that minnow. Pretty cool to see him eat that on camera. And ya it's 50/50 when the pike hit the 3lb test.
That is a tough call. Depends what models you are comparing and what you are looking out of it. As for Picture quality this Marcum is up there with the Larger Aqua Vu units and I do like that it records on the unit as I need that for these videos. Screen is smaller and unit is bulky but for the price its a solid unit.
I have a question. If he's catching fish and seeing others why would he want to go home hopping? I could see if he's getting skunked and he's not even spotting fish but if he's catching fish why spend the time looking for a new spot, drilling holes, getting a camera dropped down while adjusting it to see the lure and setting up his little work area (seat, camera screen, tackle, coffee etc) all to take a chance of finding a spot when he already found one? If there was no action and he didn't see any fish after an hour or so then its a no brainer to take a shot and move around.

Underrated channel, you are my favorite fishing youtuber
That is awesome. Thank you! Glad you enjoy my videos!
Hello there ! I'm in France, we have nothing to do with ice fishing here but I enjoy each one of your videos, I find it almost poetic.. Bravo !!

Love the bucket and foam ball for the camera. Great video btw.
Thanks! The DIY tripod is great.
Very cool video! The subsurface footage is awesome. Perch get scarce when Mr. Pike shows up 😄……. Thank you Bryan!!! 👍🎣
Perch always gets scared when Mr Pike is coming!
Thanks for all the videos, I will say in my neck of the woods (Erie Pa) a jumbo perch is considered 14”-17” and the average keeper is around 10”
I was going to say the same thing but I didn't want to take away from the video. Those are not jumbo perch at least in New Jersey anyway, but great video bud
These perch are 4-6 inches lol
@@myname6386 there was one perch that was 1/2 way decent that I would have kept, but you are right ! TOO SMALL !

Lol that perch in the back caught a wild shiner epic
Was a big perch too! Neve know what you will capture on camera.
Gotta love the early ice.
The best
You’re videos are great. Simple, no frills, actual excitement and please don’t change! Also I’d buy a “let’s get back down there” sweater! Just sayin

We can't here in Minnesota, It's illegal but man would it work great!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Welcome

Will do! Can't wait to get to my ultra clear pike lake :)

Those were baby walleyes
Baby walleye don't have stripes
hey man love the marcum
I do too. Nice little HD unit with built in record.
What lake was this?
Bryan, which do you prefer. The Aqua View or the Marcom?

Thanks Edward!
You on the south end of lake ? Millie lilacs
Not in this video but yes I have been fishing the south bays. Got the nice northern in Isle.
where i can buy this camera?
Any fishing store that sells ice gear, or can buy off their website. marcumtech.com
That Pike wanted a decent size perch, good video tho
Right! Probably been eating perch all day down there.
I’d really like to catch a pike but I don’t know how to unhook it
5:00 me when my ADHD kicks in
Hahaha.. Awesome!
Awesome video man, but I do have a question, do you have a flasher? If your outside maybe you should try hole hopping.
I have a question. If he's catching fish and seeing others why would he want to go home hopping? I watched this with delight…but a pike on a tiny jig ? no no no….it ain’t gonna happen..😂
I usually get them up more times then not but its a 50 50. Cant help it when pan fishing. They always around!
Such lite line now fish has the hoke in it for a long time increase poundage by 6 lbs
Do you do this for a living or something else
No, I work full time.
U ever catch any sharks?
lol.. This guy! What up Yo. Hope all is well. Sharks is next.
Why you release those fish?
Mainly just catch and release but they would of made some good eats for sure!
The perch are yummy. Don't you like to clean fish?
If those are jumbo the ones we catch are whales then. Average 12" - 13"+
Hey you are the coolest ice fishing RUclipsr. Can I ask what is the best ice fishing lure for Northern?
Hey thanks Gavin! For northern, besides live bait, my favorite is a gold spoon, or anything gold!
That ice less then three fish thick
lol..Nice!
Where are you? I’m in Ohio. Can I come out?
I'm in Minnesota
@@BryanProkuski can I come fish with you? Have my own gear
Wth. All those perch are pretty small
4” of ice. 😅
Yup, thats what DNR considers safe ice for walking. 5" for atv so there was plenty.
Why you harm fishes, if you don't want??
Because fishings fun
Dude the DIY tri pod is amazing good shit man
Yes it is. Multi purpose too. Covers the hole so nothing falls down and you can use it to rest the camera on.
