I love that they actually erased Marcille's left eyelash after it broke off lol
Falin was a ghost whisperer. Now that Laios is leveling his mana, he can see and hear them too.
Mama Senshi feeding the kids and providing important facets of their education is gold.
One fun detail: Marcille made an explosion to confuse the serpent part heat vision, since she wasn't really tall or big. The heat silhouette from explosion, however, probably did the job
It's supposed to be a riff on tokusatsu poses with an explosion in the back.
@@andrewli6606 yes, but since Chilchuck really heard the explosion and you can see Cockatrices' reaction with backing down a little, she actually did it
Its talked about in the extra comics, but the typical styles of magic in this area are Gnomish and Elven magic. Both manipulate mana spirits into performing spells. Gnomish magic uses mana as an offering/request to the spirits to perform a certain task. Elven magic uses mana to force/direct spirits to perform certain tasks. Gnomish magic is significantly less taxing to use but gets less exact results and benefits greatly from a positive relationship with the spirits. Elvish magic requires clear exact directions and requires a lot more mana. Elves have a lot more mana naturally, Gnomes having the second most.
Marcille uses Elvish magic but also learned Gnomish magic. Falin exclusively uses Gnomish magic, and you can imagine how her background and peacful presence makes her so in tune with the spirits. Thats what makes Falin such a potent caster. She rarely, if ever, uses violent magic.
Theres some instances of other styles of magic from Toshiro's retainers, but it isnt talked about in the extra comics. It appears to use paper and written words as conduits, but again, I dont think its ever explained.
It's a form of summoning magic using shikigamis as a medium. It's just summoning magic but using specially prepared paper as a medium instead of flesh/blood.
19:30 The World Guide has stats for every major character and it shows that Senshi has the lowest intelligence of them all. Which makes sense. It doesn't mean that he's stupid, he's like a farmer who's an expert at taking care of his crops and cattle but has a hard time handling anything outside his box.
This one was just the ideal episode to give everyone a little breather and unwind just a bit after the heavy developments of the past few ones.
Or the upcoming ones as well....
FYI. In Japan, traditionally, we actually use stone weights called "tsukemono-ishi" for making Japanese style fermented pickles!😄
Oooooh that explains a lot. Cheers!
Fun fact Laios mentioned the Cockatrice in the second episode when facing the Basilisk!
Keep what Laios saw and heard during mana sickness in your pocket, it'll be important!
Oh wow, the brothers are really getting into the analysis. Re: Marcille's magic; it's funny that they're forgetting to consider Marcille's motivation for learning ancient magic in the first place!
They're not great at keeping all the disparate elements connected. It's understandable, I'm sure I would struggle too if I were watching 5 different shows weekly, one episode at a time. Problems arise though when they forget key character motivations and start filling in the blanks with whatever they feel like at the moment. And then those mistaken beliefs go on to inform future analysis... Suffice it to say, I wished they kept more detailed notes. I know they'll track basic stuff like character names but I feel like a lot of issues with them going off the rails could be mitigated somewhat with more detailed notekeeping.
So something I like is that Marcille actually shows how much she's the "Textbook Honor Student" during her teaching Laios magic.
She completely neglected to tell him about mana sickness because it's such common sense that "of course he would know, right?"
At the same time, she's so wrapped up in the cold professionalism that stuff like intimate physical contact or taking off your pants during an emergency are something you power through with hardly any worry. And this approach is very "ivory tower" in that it completely ignores potential real life drawbacks like inter-party relationship drama, which is literally more dangerous to parties than death in a dungeon.
In true SOS fashion, something has been said in this discussion that is wildly accurate based on no information, but likely not the one theyre expecting XD
probably the funniest episode all season
There are two other good contenders, but I love this one as well.
Personally I find the ”dawg in him” one even funnier. Tho, it’s hard to even decide they’re all good
Love how even in antics we still feel the ever-present threat of the dungeon itself and monsters within
Behelit pumpkins and stone Marcille this episode was peak comedy 😂
I seriously love this show.
she never actually says it in the show but in the manga its explained that she cast further curse resistance on herself right before being bitten so thats likely what *actually* got her free so quickly
"Whààààààààààààà!!!" -*CHOMP!*
THE END! 🤣
見終わった後のお二人の、満足そうな笑顔が見れる事が嬉しい!大好きです♡
Lol this was one of my favourite episode just to good and funny.
As you guys said so much happened but it doesn't felt rushed and completely normal,
I wish this ep should never end and just keep going that much good it was.
Did you notice that her eyelashes were thin on the right side? Love the detail in this show.
This show is just a treasure from start to finish. ❤🍽
One of my favorit episodes in this season !!!!!
日本は植林政策で大量に植えたスギの花粉

化学物質が混ざったスギ花粉による
花粉症に春先苦しんでいる。
Japan is not alone in this. Los Angeles and Austin (Texas) and others have planted lots of pollen-bearing trees with little understanding of environmental impact
I hope you get well soon!
these reactions are always SO fun 😊
Chilchuck is very tall for a half-foot and he is 29 this year while half-foot averagely lives up to their 50s
Senshi is like around 100 while dwarfs averagely lives to their 300
Marcille is in her 50s while elves averagely lives to their 400
So technically in racial lifespan wise Chilchuck is the eldest in the group
no, Senshi's still the oldest, but Chilchuck is close second oldest
@@ApX0HTzzz767 Spoilers. Major, major spoilers.
@@ApX0HTzzz767 might wanna hide this under a spoiler warning. that wont get revealed til season 2
@@ApX0HTzzz767 that’s kinda spoilers
@@gristen it's kind already implied in the series but the brothers are not that far in yet
I love how much they love the show 😊❤
25:47 wait that is an amazing detail I never noticed!
Laios the Eldritch Knight is here!
He's more like Fighter dipping Paladin probably.
this is easily in my top 10 anime ever and it is only like 1/3 finished
7:42 spoilers for later
But it is hilarious that senshi gives chilchuck the talk when chilchuck has gotten laid at minimum three times probably more considering you dont get a kid every time while i do not believe anyone else in the current party has ever gotten laid.
23:12 Funny that you'd mention punching Shuro...
Great reaction!
Hilarious episode!
To anyone who's only watched this subbed, at least watch this episode in english if only for Laios' reaction to the dryad fruit
9:33 Were you guys thinking of Lord of the Rings at this part?
25:38 Idk I'm not against ships but maybe its just me but in my eyes marcil and falin was always shown to be really good friends not anything else. She just care's for falin a lot like a little sister, thats it? Or maybe I'm missing something haha.
No one with a sister has ever touched them the way Marcille touches Falin.
I can't wait for when we'll get into the fact that Marcile's views on magic being nothing but a tool depending on it's user is JUST AS WRONG (if not moreso) as senshi's distrust of magic in general
Season 2 can't come soon enough
two freaking years **cries**
@@jacksparrowismydaddy Season 2 has been confirmed right after season 1 has ended. What two freaking years?

Dudes, You've been reacting to anime for nearly a decade now. I'm sure you guys have watched 10x more anime than me at this point. With all that experience with anime stereotypes, how the hell could y'all fall for this Falin and Marcille ship trap? lol.
For you to know: Dryad reproduce by holding hands 😅
They reproduce by kissing. You may be mixing them up with Living Armor
@@FaiRoxYourWorld1 thanks, it was the other ones 😅
I swear on my life that they manifested this MarcielxFalin ship out of thin fucking air lol. Like, A) Their relationship is 100% sister-coded, and B) A "love interested" of sorts who is NOT Marciel was set up for Falin on episode fucking 1. At some point, you're just ignoring canon and believing what you want.
I don’t think Marcielle is in love with Falin. They clearly are very good friends, maybe more, but it is not this type of anime. Also don’t forget that from the point of view of Marcielle, she knew Falin since she was are kid, for, i think 10-12 years, watched her grow, maybe taught her. It kind of would be weird-ish.
You're entitled to your opinion but I disagree that dungeon meshi would have to be a certain "type" of anime to feature romance, or same-sex relationship, whichever of the two you meant. I know that kind of pigeonholing is common in anime but there are shows that have lgbt themes that aren't labeled BL or yuri specifically, like madoka magica, yuri on ice, or revolutionary girl utena. And plenty of shows have romance subplots while not having that as their main genre.
This isn't to say that I think Marcille is canonically in love with Falin or should have ended up with her necessarily. But imo that interpretation isn't unfounded either. The story never gets sidetracked by romance but there are breadcrumbs thrown in for both Falin/Marcille and Laios/Marcille shippers.
Also I won't spoil anything but there is a future development with Marcille that makes the age gap thing not as weird as it seems. I don't blame anime onlys for being put off by that aspect right now though.
This anime has no romance. So ppl think whatever they want.
In terms of relative age and acounting from racial differences they are around a similar-ish age. Also a character being potentially interested in another doesnt change the "type" of the show or anything,Shuro being into Falin is a thing and doesnt factor in that much
I meant more in terms of, imagine you babysit some kid, and now the kid is a grownup, and you think, i am gonna hit that, it would be weird, not their respective ages.
@@ApX0HTzzz767 I'm with you bro. People always give lesbian relationships a pass. If Marcille was a 50 something male dwarf people would be furious with that relationship
You REALLY need to lay off Twitter from a while. The Twitter queer fans are giving you strange ideas.
Is it about Falin and Marcille?
The author doesnt mind the ship and i think even shared fanart from fans about those two.
that is an incredibly common interpretation/ship, that isn't baseless at all like you seem to imply?
Even if it was baseless this is a weirdly hostile sentiment for something as harmless as a ship. You can have your interpretation but there's no need to be rude to others or act like they're delusional for having a different subjective opinion
@@rinseyong5202I agree with him. Farcille shippers are overtly obnoxious and they flanderize Marcille's character as if it was some unresolved high school crush
@@alldale1680 Did they say anything about that though? Shippers can be annoying sometimes but they're not pushing their interpretations on anyone else. Personally I haven't seen the flanderization thing you're talking about, I don't see how a romance would inherently detract from Marcille's character or contradict what we know about her. Her interactions with other characters make her more interesting, not less.
