You're doing it wrong! LOL On some things anyway. (Like angle measurements. They were backwards! It wasn't a 15* incline, but a 75! LOL ) But hey we all started somewhere, so thumbs up, nice work. One thing to keep in mind the turn vs rpm ratio changes when you go to a larger can. So if someone went to a 12T 540 they would not see the same results as you did with the 550. Same if you are going from a 3 to 5 section armature. I'm a big Holmes Hobby fan, but I have to say I'm surprised at how smooth that 54T redcat motor was. Yes, i know it's a 54 turn, but even still it was exceptionally smooth.
You know, I hadn't even thought of the angle piece. Very funny! In my mind I was thinking of how close I was getting to 90*, but certainly wasn't saying it! Ha! Thanks for checking out our channel and helping keep us straight.
Nice comparison video and test run I put a 15t 550 in my Wraith afew days ago and I snapped the front dogbone after 5 minutes of ripping around my Freestyle course. I didn't need to trim the skidplate like you have to make the motor fit I'm running a 15tooth pinion instead of the stock 11tooth
Thanks for sharing. If I had gone with something like the 15T you did, I could have also used 3S. This motor limits me to 2S with this speed control. Still - that is probably good for my parts breakage!
I'm still using 6cell nimh 3300mah pack's 9volts full charge going to get some 8cell nimh my ae5 speed control is good for 14 volts, not willing to risk a fire from the lipo I bash the hell out of my truck plenty of hard landings and I run everyday for afew hour's each use my course is in my backgarden. It seems the biggest issue that you had in all of your tests was nothing to do with torque but traction loss. I wonder if there would have been a difference had you used a softer compound tire that had more grip everywhere?
Good question! Honestly, I wonder how much softer/better traction I could get. I know there are some Pro-line predator compounds, however these tires have done really well in all of my tests versus other tires.

Thanks for the comment. There is a lot of different information on brushed motors break-in. I did this method simply because it is how Holmes Hobbies officially recommends to do it. Glad you are out having fun with RC!
Cause when building a ramp making it wide enough is just too much work 😅 your also holding that wrong. It's more like 80 degrees and 85 degrees. A 15 degree incline is like driving up a wheel chair ramp. It's basically flat bro.

Do you think this motor would work in an Arrma Senton Mega? Or is it just good for crawlers?
It would work...but brushed motors never last long in a basher.
You would be better off just saving for a brushless system.
Awesome, glad to know it has wheelspeed for a basher. I plan on going brushless one day. Maybe when I burn up my brushed esc and motor
Not reading deg right. On board
Yep - you are correct.
Why did you disconnect the Dig function
My Wraith never had a dig function.
If i have a higher tooth pinion lets say a 27t should i get a lower turn motor or higher?
All depends on how fast you want to go!
