Thank you! I had been struggling with turning rows until I watched this video. I'm not sure what you explained differently than the others, but it finally clicked!!
I’ve been struggling to learn to learn crochet for a couple weeks and your videos finally make this all make sense!! It just clicked and I feel accomplished now!! Thank you!!
I cannot love this video enough!! I've been trying to learn to crochet for years and I always stop at the end of the chain because I can never see properly how to do the first stitch! Like ever!! You have used such perfect colour to show how to do it and no music in the background and so close to the camera that I can actually see everything sooo well!! Now I'm ready to start practicing again!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Thanks Kristen! This is the first time that I've tuned in to your tutorials but I've really enjoyed the fact that you take things so slowly. At almost 72 years old, my mind probably isn't as keen as when I was younger so it helps to have such a patient teacher. I put my yarn aside for quite some time because I became frustrated but I'm determined to learn to crochet! Thanks again! Be blessed!
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Nathan Ronin Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
You did a fantastic job explaining and taking it slow for us beginners. I want to learn to crochet so bad. I am 63 hopefully I’m not to old to learn. Thank you I look forward to more of your videos
I am an absolute beginner at learning to crochet. Kristin's beginner videos have helped me more than any that I have tried. She makes it easy to follow her. I like how she explains what she's doing. Thank you, Kristin!
Thank you. I finally made one row that is not perfect but I finally understand after trying forever. So frustrated I gave up for years till I found your video.
i just wanted to thank you cause i’ve been learning with your videos and there the only ones i can follow along with i’ve learned single and double so far!
Thank you for teaching me to learn to crochet. You explain it so well i have struggled for years trying to pick it up with now luck until now. Your videos are so much easier to understand.
It really helped me as I’ve been trying to make a scarf and couldn’t figure out what I was doing incorrectly, this clarified things for me, hopefully it will go better, if not I’ll watch again. Thank you
Thank you so much. This is the fourth or fifth video and you actually explained clearly about the crochet stitch right after finishing the chain. Cheers.
This is the best video to watch if you want to crochet. I had been struggling with crochet and trying to learn how to crochet in till now. I have successfully crochet several things. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. In the past few days I've been trying to teach myself, but other videos go wayyyy too fast. Then I found this video, just what I needed!! I now know what I'm doing wrong. Thank you.
I am new to crocheting. I watch a ton of RUclips videos. Most videos go too fast for me. I appreciate you slowing down so I can actually see the steps.
Yooo I've actually made my first single crochet stitch thanks to you! Thank you! There are a few flaws in it still, but it's pretty late right now, so I'll try again tomorrow.
Hello Kristin! I’m living in China, teaching English. I’m far away from mom and aunts who could teach me how to crochet. Your videos are so helpful, easy to follow, and step-by-step. Thank you for your help, and for stepping into the shoes of those I’m not near.
Thanks! Very informative...hopefully, I can follow your lead...I'm a 'drivers seat' person who generally does better learning by being given hands on instruction however, I am very hopeful! I like that you truly teach step-by-step. I believe I might actually be able to do this now! THANK YOU!
it's been over 10 yrs. since I crochet a scraf, I needed a quick tutorial, and you did it. It's all coming back to me. thank you again for taking time to make this video. GREAT JOB
Thanks so much!! I am brand new at crochet, I knit. I wanted to learn how to crochet a border on a knitted strip of a blanket and watching your video, now I know how to! Next I am going to have to learn how to attach my straps together, I hope you have a video on that! Thanks again
Thank you so much for this super nice video!! Really helped me to learn crochet, only i can't make a full 6 inch blanket, just a one inch. But you are a great teacher!
Im trying to learn how to crochet and, after watching a couple videos, I just couldn't get it and started getting very frustrated. Your video helped me successfully make my first few chains! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this. I sat down today to figure out how to crochet and even after watching a few videos and following a book, my stitches were looking like the garter stitch. I was missing (or the videos glossed over) pulling it through the second time. After I watched your video once, I finished a washcloth. Definitely subscribed!
Very helpful videos. I'm trying my hand at "quarantine crocheting". I know how to knit and would like to expand my repertoire. I have a question: can you address why my chain stick appears to turn into a spiral as I practice? Thank you!
Hello. My name is Cathie, and I've been watching your videos for a while, and I really appreciate how you show us how to do a project using slow motion. I was just wondering if you happen to have a video of a SC, but then you do another SC in the same hole before moving to the next? I think that it would be very interesting to learn. Thank you.
That's because the tension on the yarn going around the fingers of your left hand is too tight. I'm just learning, but the more I crochet, the more I'm learning to regulate that tension. You don't want it too tight or too loose. Make sure to start off by pulling quite alot of yarn from the skein first, that will help not to tighten the yarn around the fingers so much.
Hey Kristin. Love your vid so far. May I ask, you mentioned at the beginning that you had a ball of yarn that you had "already rolled" - did you roll that yourself? And why roll it vs. just pulling from the middle of the store-bought tube of yarn as you go? This is my first time ever even touching yarn, so I'm not familiar with the need to roll it! Also, thank you so much for talking about tension! I've watched dozens of videos, and yours was the first to explain that. I find that your technique of wrapping around the pinkie helps SOO MUCH. Now I don't feel like I have to death-grip my yarn to keep it a little bit taught. It kept coming loose with every other videos' method of holding.
I roll most of my yarn because I can’t stand how the yarn comes rolled because every few feet I get a huge knot and then I spend too much time undoing it lol I plan to upload a double crochet stitch video soon so once you master this one, you should check that out :) Also my trick on rolling yarn fast: ruclips.net/video/i72FFsQyy74/видео.html
Thank you! I had been struggling with turning rows until I watched this video. I'm not sure what you explained differently than the others, but it finally clicked!!

Okay am I the only one that still can’t get it 💀

Thank you. I like your demos. I am a male wanting to learn to make baby blankets. Learning a lot thanks.
Great video, now I know how to start (tail on right) , how to count, 1st row, go into bottom instead of top. Thanks so much.
It really helped me as I’ve been trying to make a scarf and couldn’t figure out what I was doing incorrectly, this clarified things for me, hopefully it will go better, if not I’ll watch again. Thank you

Great explanation! Doing my first (hole-riddled) scarf now!

Every time I try and pull it through the hole it slips out. Do you know what I’m doing wrong?
Thank you, you're a great teacher!

Great video. Just starting up again after about 40 years of NOT crocheting ... no thank you!
thank you! the instructions were very clear and it was easy to see where you put the hook through.
You were very helpful. Thank you.
Because of YOU I learned how to single stitch crochet in less than a hour.
Thank you so much for this super nice video!! Really helped me to learn crochet, only i can't make a full 6 inch blanket, just a one inch. But you are a great teacher!
The most helpful video, thanks!
I have been wanting to learn how to do this. Thank you and will be following you as I grow in this
Thanks for the refresher!
That was very well spoken so you can understand it
You are a very good instructor and I like how you hold your hook.
Im trying to learn how to crochet and, after watching a couple videos, I just couldn't get it and started getting very frustrated. Your video helped me successfully make my first few chains! Thank you!!

I love hearing this stuff, thanks for commenting!
The concept of the base of the V is not clear to me no matter how large I make my stitches so I can see them. Help please???
Very helpful videos. I'm trying my hand at "quarantine crocheting". I know how to knit and would like to expand my repertoire. I have a question: can you address why my chain stick appears to turn into a spiral as I practice? Thank you!
thanks for the best beginner video!! im struggling with tension and getting into those pesky V hole. does anyone have any ideas please?

Thankyou I am a complete beginner and enjoyed it
Happy to hear that! 😊

Thank you I was having issues with it curving on me. I think it's the way I was holding my yarn .
