This is a great set - I love Roman Szmal colours - the Aquarius Orange, the Autumn Green, the Cobalt Sea Blue, but also the new Pink looks wonderfully bright snd nice ! 🎨❤️
What a fantastic set to gift to a person starting out in watercolour! It’s got everything…the basics and a lovely range of nifty special colors. I’d personally add potters’ pink which I’ve recently acquired and find so useful. That new pink is amazing!
Really beautiful set of colors! Hoping to get a set of his watercolors one of these days. Lovely painting too. Tried to pick a favorite color but I love too many 😂
I'm still waiting for Szmal watercolors in tubes, since I've found working with pans is a little hardrer for me. But it's my first ever watercolors, and I'm still very much in love with them. I've had a pleasure of meeting the creator and his family few times on our polish urban sketchers festivals, and I'm always ending up with buying everything they recommend 😂 ❤
I clicked super fast when I saw your video this morning. I have been wanting to get the Jane Blundell set so I am happy it is now in this set along with the new ones. I will have to wait for the price of this one to go down..too expensive at the moment. I only found the set to be stocked in Artemiranda in Spain. Thanks, beautiful swatch! That red is stunning, yes a new favorite! Maria
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words Maria. I agree, beautiful colours! 16 / 24 of the Jane Blundell colours are in this one, a few of the remaining 8 being similar to what is included, the colour that isn't is the Cobalt Turquoise. Both are great sets, I prefer the essentials set, and would add the cobalt turquouise to make it the best of both worlds x
My favourite thing about the art membership is the community, hanging out on Zoom and Discord. I said in chat that Aquarius Green is possibly my favourite RS paint, but I do love the look of the Mineral Pink, too. It looks like a great selection of colours, thanks for switching them 😊
Thank you for doing the comparisons of the Azo Yellow Gold to Quin Gold Hue and Quin Gold, it's like you read my mind. I agree I'd swap out the Sap Green for either Hooker's Green or Sap Green Light. The other colours I'd need are Indanthrone Blue and Potter's Pink. My RS Lavenda does the same as yours with the white separation, so I don't know if that's a problem or not. That Mineral Pink looks interesting, I may have to invest in a new paint tin though I only have space for one half pan left. If there are 10 new colours coming out it's going to be a tough decision!
I watch dozens of swatching videos and yours is easily one of the best I've ever seen! Maybe THE best!! I have basically wiped my Christmas list clean as of this morning and have put this new Roman Szmal pallette (plus the other individual colors you mentioned) onto my letter to Santa Claus all by itself! RS paints are so beautiful and so frequently recommend by artists I enjoy watching, but they are difficult to obtain here in Texas. I have an account at Jackson's but have only ordered a few things due to price and wait time. I'll probably spend the day looking for a US source "Old Saint Nick" can afford (while also watching more of your videos!) I don't usually like using most convenience mixes of multiple pigments that separate (like DS Moonglow), but that Misty Morning is so pretty, and I think it would perfect for the sunrise landscapes I like to paint. Absolutely loved your painting and how you really took advantage of the water to mix the colors on the page! Simply gorgeous!
I was wondering why the order of this palette and see from your swatches that each row gets darker in value as you move to the right. Interesting. I would have included Lemon Yellow and Indian Yellow instead of Hansa Light and Hansa Medium and would have replaced Paynes Grey with my favorite Shadow Grey. My faves in this palette are the Mineral Pink, Cobalt Sea Blue, Pyrrole Rubine, and Aquarius Violet for its DRAMA. Your swatch of Misty Morning is the best I’ve seen and almost makes me want to give it another try ;) Indigo Hue is also a fave that would be in my essentials palette
One of the many aspects of being a Kofi member is the greatest and loving community as well the livestreams and knowledgeable members. One the colors that really stuck out for which is Pyrrol Rubine. I love dark rich looking reds like Alizarin Crimson so this will be on my next Jackson's or Artemiranda order.
I think my dislike for yellows and browns are keeping me from buying many roman szmal sets 😅 but I really love this one! And I've been obsessing over pr264 too!
this is probably the best essentials set I've ever seen 😍😍 I tend to judge essentials sets pretty harshly depending on what options they give you for a magenta/cool red, and the fact that this set gives you more than one option makes me super excited to recommend this set to someone. maybe the only thing I'd change about the color selection is that I'd maybe swap out one of the oranges or browns for nickel azo yellow. and a super personal nitpick is that I actually like cobalt teal better than cobalt sea blue which has been featured in multiple sets already, so I kind of would have liked to see cobalt teal get the spotlight for this one, but I know that's just me. 😅
Thank you for watching and for joining the premiere and livestream Michelle :D It was lovely chatting with you - I agree, Pyrrole rubine was an unexpected new favourite for me x
Hope you enjoy the video! 16/24 of the colours in this set are in the Jane Blundell set, so you could easily recreate it by adding your favourites of the remaining 8 ❤
I find the drying shift of reds and pinks really disappointing. They go down so vibrantly but dry so weak and flat (across all brands). The quin magenta intense seems to dry just as vibrantly as it went down. For that reason, it’s my top pic.
Thank you so much for this video! I got so happy when I saw it. Previous to this there wasnt a single video of anyone swatching this set. I am planning to buy it next week during the Black Friday sale. (I am from Poland, so Roman Szmal is my go-to proffesional watercolor brand). This set is really something. At first I felt that 28 colors is a little bit overkill but the assortment just makes so much sense to me. I own Cyprus Burn Umber Deep. Mine rewets a little harder that the rest (i mean its an earth pigment). Did yours have the same problem? I was wondering if they all do that or it depends on the batch. Again, thank you so much! It was so helpful and informative
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words Yarrow. I agree, beautiful colours! I'm excited for you and hope you get a fantastic deal next week. Mine rewet well, perhaps not as well as the others but still quite easily compared to other brands. Sometimes if there is a film from the packaging, it can be hard to reactivate at first (I had that with a black , but once I removed that film (with water and a firm brush) it was okay. I hope this helps and that you love your new palette x
Those are absolutely gorgeous colours! I’ve never heard of this brand before. Out of curiosity, is this line of paints student or professional grade? I love that they’re full sized pans instead of half pans.
When you mentioned that Roman Szmal was releasing new colors, I went to look at their Instagram. Now I'm a super excited about all the new colors coming out! Any chance they're also sending you any of the other new ones to swatch? I'm so glad you did those comparisons with the 3 new shades in the set. The mineral pink looks quite different from mineral violet, but I wonder how similar it is to Daniel Smith's rose of ultramarine. About lavender--it's made of all granulating pigments, so is it even possible to make a completely nongranulating lavender? I'm surprised it's labeled that way. I only have Holbein's lavender, and they do grind the pigments very finely, but it's still got mild granulation.
I just tried using the link you provided to get 10% off but it’s not applying to my cart when I try and check out. Do you have an actual promo code I can input in my cart ? Thanks
@@SketchesnScrubs. 10% off at Jackson’s. After I click the link it goes to the website but it’s not taking off the 10% on the order in my cart. Do you have a promo code I can write instead to get the discount??
sorry Max, I don’t have a code unfortunately, only the link and it normally takes 10% off automatically if it’s your first order and eligible. It may be worth asking Jackson’s if it is your first order x
I just wish the watercolor manufacturers would make their tins as beautiful as the boxes they come in. They’d sell A LOT MORE just because we want pictorial tins (like the old paint tins children would have back in the 60s and 70s, etc.) Themes, pictures, etc. We all are sick of these plain black tins. (Sorry.)
This palette is gorgeous I’m so excited for the mineral pink and beautiful blues 💕🦋
I know! Truly beautiful ❤
You could try the November 2024 limited color. A beautiful mixture of night blue and violet, granulating, just amazing.
Thank you! It is very much on my wish list! ❤
That red is just stunning.
Thank you so much for watching Lori, I agree, beautiful colours x
Misty morning. Yes, I made it to the end. Thank you.
Thank you Catherine ❤️
Great video. My first watercolor palette is a Roman Szmal's and of course I love ever color, my go to palette. I believe this palette is a WIN!

I was wowed by Misty Morning. All the colors are beautiful
Thank you so much for watching Lynne! I agree, beautiful colours x
Loving Cobalt Sea Blue!
Me too! x x
thank you great demo
Thank you! ❤️
I think lavender may be good for landscapes, for mixing the colour of the atmosphere over distant hills etc.
Thank you so much for watching and your great suggestion Pablo! x
This is a great set - I love Roman Szmal colours - the Aquarius Orange, the Autumn Green, the Cobalt Sea Blue, but also the new Pink looks wonderfully bright snd nice ! 🎨❤️

Thank you so much for watching! I agree, beautiful colours x
What a gorgeous palette, I will have to put it on my Christmas wish list. Also love, love love your landscape!
Awww! Thank you so much for watching and your kind words Clive! I hope that you get it and enjoy it for Christmas ❤

A new Roman Szmal palette to tempt me! ❤

Really beautiful set of colors! Hoping to get a set of his watercolors one of these days. Lovely painting too. Tried to pick a favorite color but I love too many 😂
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words Linda. I agree, beautiful colours x
I definitely want to try the mineral pink, it looks gorgeous! I will probably wait for the new colors to come out.
My favorite colors in this set are the Pyrrole Rubine, Mineral Pink, Lavender and Autumn Green. I couldn't choose just one!

Awww! Soo lovely that you’ve met him too ❤ and that you love the watercolours too!
Landscape is beautiful!

Hello from Texas! I have been waiting for the new Roman Szmal and I am so excited to see them 😊
Hello Catherine! Thank you so much for joining too! x x
Well done 👍✅ that's awesome 😍
Thank you ❤️

Thanks for watching Becky! Understandably - both really lovely xx

Also best part of art membership is the art friends I’ve made who gush equally about art supplies and get excited with new colors.
Best part about being a member is still the live zoom sessions!
Thank you so much Messy Desk! Seeing your daily art is always so encouraging x
And thank you for being an incredible member x
Mineral pink, love the color separation. Love this pallet…need this pallet. Great assortment of colors. Nice video, always enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words D x x
I still haven't had the chance to buy Roman Szmal Watercolors! I'm hoping for Xmas, I can treat myself!
Lovely to "see" you Laura! I hope that you are well and that you do love Roman Szmal, whenever the time is right to get them x

Beautiful set!
I think so too! Thank you for watching Kristina x
Favourites: Buff Titanium, Quin Magenta Intense, Cobalt Sea Green, Aquarius Green and the Quin Gold.
