This team was the most fun to watch out of any other penguins team in history Crosby and sheary buried goals, Matt Murray was great, hornqvist was hornqvist, and HBK was unstopable
Steigy and Errey were easily the worst announcing duo in the league. Steigy was such a homer who wasn’t much of a wordsmith. Like, Jack Edwards is a brutal homer, but when it comes to actually calling the game, he’s pretty decent at it. Steigy has ruined some insane highlight reel goals with really terrible calls. And Errey is like a child with ADHD. I know he’s just trying to have fun, but it just sounds so cringy from a broadcaster announcing for a huge organization. He should be announcing like AHL or D2 college hockey. Lange was the voice of the Pens forever. Sucks we had to deal with Steigy. Mearsy was fun for a bit there.
I remember Vasilevsky being an absolute MONSTER in that series and thinking about how he was going to be great for many years. REALLY glad we didn't lose coz of a hot goalie like we have a few times. Jaroslav Halak I remember being particularly infuriating.

I remember Roloson playing pretty well in 2011. 2012 the Flyers goalies were trying to let us win and Fleury had other plans. 2013 Bruins were just better. 2014-15 Lundqvist. Maybe 2018 Holtby. However, regular season games? Forget about it. It’s like rando goalies got bonuses for playing career games against us.
Dunno why but one of the goals i remember where i was, was at 7:38 with Kunitz goal, i was taking a piss and just heard Emricks voice saying "He scores!!" Lmao
2017 we beat the Flyers, Caps, and Sens who have also had some big battles with the Pens. Played in the playoffs from 2007-2010, then 2013. I was at the game in 2010 where Andy Sutton almost killed Jordan Leopold and Crosby danced around with Spezza all over him behind the net. He’s made a career of plays like that, but that was the first time I remember him doing it. Fuck the Sens.
If Crosby was not on that team they would have not won the cup. Stats do not tell everything. He made so much happen to help them win the cup. Go back and re-watch all the games and look at what Crosby does.
I agree completely, Kessel was a more consistent scorer. But it was Crosby's 200 foot game that won him the Conn Smythe, in my opinion of course. That's not to say Kessel wasn't outstanding, but when you look at the overall body of work, I think Crosby was more valuable.
