Generals remaster would be the best thing to happen. But do understand that these 2 comes 1st.

well i hope they do, for sure they didn't forget C&C franchise, EA is not a non-profit organisation, it is commpany that is created to earn money - if there is an oportunity i guess they will grab them sooner or later.
Command and conquer remastered collection volume 2 will be more successful because more people played red alert 2 and tibsun than the original so it make more sense to develop it
Let's skip Tibsun and Firestorm since it's freeware and there's plenty of Tibsun mods that are just as good. I rather have myself a remaster of the RA2/YR games since they're not free. (and a pain in the ass to make them work I'm win10/11)

Petroglyph was the studio that made that game EA had nothing to do with it as Sega was the publisher, if i could get the damm thing working i would like to re-play it again and the OST is great
I want a sequel where Orlock is retconned to have somehow survived and leading a revolt on some planet somewhere against the Hierarchy or something like that.
Man, I loved that game. Absolute kickass soundtrack too.
TibSun remake would be glorious to see, anyone who played it know how grim it's atmosphere was. It did color brown before military shooters ruined it.

I did wonder why it hadn't actually happened sooner, it seems the obvious way forward, at least 2 more guaranteed hits, but i didn't realise Petroglyph were busy on a game of their own.
Well, also, I heard a lot of rumors about how the Red Alert 2 source code was straight up lost, which would severely hamper development of remasters. It'd be cool if they ended up also making the original assets free to use for OpenRA2 though.

@@TheBeastCH Given how closely related generations of C&C games are, I think if they have the source code of one they can recreate the other with some effort, but I simply knew that one of them had lost source code. Still, if they have the code of one, it SHOULD be possible to recreate the code of the other given how related generations of C&C games tend to be.
@@RedShocktrooperRST The engine of RA2 is an updated version of the engine of TibSun. The thing is, the engine of RA2 has features removed that the TibSun version had, and new features the TibSun version didn't have. Using one engine to reverse engineer the other would mean creating an updated version of the engine that has both the features the TibSun engine had that were removed for RA2 and the new features added for RA2 that weren't there in the TibSun version. This means they will have to rebuild the game from scratch on that engine, reusing the old assets (sounds, animations, models/sprites, maps/levels if compatible (recreate them if not) and all that. And while that game, whether it's TibSun or RA2, would likely still be called a remaster, it would per definition be a remake. And wanting to have both games in the same engine, as with the first remasters, they would both be remakes. And if they are forced to make a remake either way, they might as well make one on a modern engine, with graphics and effects that hold up to modern standarts. And then, I'd worry about them going "modern C&C" with EA's dead "crystalline proton lettice" version of Tiberium, Nod soldiers wearing hoodies and ponchos, Black Hand being "Flamethrower Guys" instead of elite special forces and religious police, GDI not having mechs, and Tiberium Wildlife/Fona not existing.
@@TheBeastCH this is because the RA2 engine started development by a different unit at Westwood before TS was released. It's a fork of the TS engine from before the full implementation of some features, particularly terrain modification and lighting cycles - TS can actually cycle day/night and was originally supposed to do so with mechanics similar to what WC3 would end up using, RA2 gave up on that ambition.

I think 'Tempest Rising' from 3d realms puplisher is the closest thing we'll get to a NEW CnC game

Would be great if a Command & Conquer Remasterd 2 would come! I hope that Tempest Rising will come this year and if Remasterd 2 with Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2 would come in the future, it would be a godsend for me and every C&C fan in the world!

Really grasping at straws here. Those posts mean nothing.
But we did get the C&C Remastered Collection as a direct result of everyone hating on Rivals. The backlash for Legions has been pretty much the same (really makes you wonder wtf they were thinking with that one, they seem to learn nothing from their mistakes). Maybe history could repeat itself if we condemn Legions enough :P
Even if it is Hopium, I'll chop it up form a line and snort it from start to finish.
Tiberian Sun is my favorite out of all of them
RA2 is arguably the most popular C&C game overall. They are crazy not doing a remaster thus far. That said, I am waiting for a TS remaster - I want that atmosphere in HD!

Yeah, I do. Because the fact is there is a financial market for it. And when you look at the gaming industry today, doing remasters of these old classics is SAFE BET. It's a tried and proven formula. The reason for that the World War one RTS game didn't do as well has more to do with the story of the game than anything else. Remember, Command & Conquer is a two pronged challenge: You have to build your base without being overrun, then you have to harvest credits without being overrun and then you have to defeat your enemy, again without being overrun, should your attack fail or prove to be insufficient in scale.
But to make a World War One game that is credible to the era, man that is a TALL ORDER, because of ALL the wars humanity has fought, World War One is without doubt the worst war to pick to base a game on! Cause there is next to nothing beyond an insane carnage, slaughter and devastation. There is no premise for erecting a base, etc. It's trench warfare. The game has good graphics, but there is no "story", no drama, no foundation for creating anything, cause everything is a stalemate.
Every C&C game has had one thing in particular at its forefront: TANKS (and mechs): Every RTS player loves a good cannon versus cannon shoot out.

I think it's just a matter of time before there's a new proper C&C. Between the success of the Remastered Collection and the coming release of Tempest Rising, which for all intents and purposes is C&C in everything but name, it's clear there's enough interest out there for it to happen. Plus we're in a period of remakes and reboots, so it's just natural.
I really, really do hope C&C Remastered Vol 2... Still waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more...

my favourite enemy in a rts was yuri and his flying saucers.
Remastering red alert 2 & yuris revenge is what they should do . Its a bit more work . But that game set the golden standard for rts . It would make the community happy & it would make them a ridiculous amount of money .
I would not be surprised to see them doing remasters before making a new game in the franchise.
I bought remastered collection, just to help push them to do RA2. I've got maybe an hour into remastered. RA2 is what I really want.
You should try Beyond All Reason. There's a chance you might like it.
i have seen people talk about how C&C is dead, but considering how succesfull the remasteres where, how could it be? besides, C&C still has an active community, so that alone would mean that the franchise is still alive, even if only through the community.
but why would C&C Legion be the end all be all? i believe that there's a good chance that we're getting more remasteres, and Legion was just a cashgrab to fund it because because EA still wanted to milk C&C while Petraglyph works on proper remasteres that'll be worth our time.
IMHO the C&C "remasters" should go : One 'classic', one 'modern' (I.e.Generals) , so that both sides of the fanbase can get something before the inevitable "no, it's been too long, we can't do this anymore" sets in .
I played the crap out of Generals & Zero Hour back in the day, but neither RA or the remastered RA (which I purchased to support the remaster effort) ever did anything for me . I liked it a little playing at a friend's house back in the day, but it wasn't a requested game by any means .
Generals got me into the franchise due to it's visuals as much as the gameplay, and the "box set" of the C&C "first decade" was one of my better gaming purchases that I can remember years after the fact .
But the "realist" in me says that we won't be getting a full series remaster, so for me it's "pick the best of what you had and remaster that" , while also wanting to be fair to every fan .
It could be Star Wars Empire At War Remastered, since there's been a lot of big Triple A companies trying to jump into that franchise, like EA Motive, Ubisoft, Respawn and others.
But it might also mean, a console port for C&C Remastered Collection for PS5 and Xbox? Since, i see a lot of RTS games are making it's way to consoles too.

I think, EA probably announce Generals 2 and some mobil CnC on a live audition, like GamesCon or E3. While Generals 2 will recive some good reaktions, the mobile game will be destroyed. While they try to calm down the masses, some armed people come to the stage, clad in the armor of the Brotherhood of NOD and Anton Slavik is among them. Than Slavik will take over the show and in the end we all will know, that "Kane Lives" and instead of the CnC Mobile game, Remaster collection 2 will be announced... yeah, i think, that a CnC mobile game could be used as just a bait for the true reveal of the 2nd remaster collection.

honestly if they are doing one would be fine if tib sun dropped first it needs one more then RA2 then they can add all the content they wanted to add
There will be no further C&C remasters. Petroglyph is full of former C&C developers, including founding members & their CEO. They have a nostalgia for those games that is bigger than our own. They would absolutely love to work on another remaster/game. But they weren't given the opportunity. C&C Legion is proof of it. They made a quick, cheap release so they don't loose the trademark, to make sure no one else can make profit off of it. EA is well known for this business philosophy. Even when they don't intend to ever make money with it again, they will hold onto it to make sure no one else will make money with it that could have been theirs. Because someone else making a good C&C game, and it's not them getting the money from it, is seen as money they lost, because it's money they could have made, and didn't. Had they not released C&C Legions, the Copyright/Trademark would have gone to Petroglyph. Had EA already had a running licensing deal with them for a remaster, they would not have needed to make Legion, because they would have been doing the remaster already, and simply would have to disclose that to the right lawyers. No need to take a crap in the mobile app store.
Legion is a solid proof that nothing else with C&C in the name is in the works or being actively pursued. There will be no further C&C remasters. Only the next crappy mobile game made in a day and full of plagiarized content in about 5 years.

The Command and Conquer Remaster was good but still no one ask for it but if they made RA2 & TBS would cool but it's EA they probability want the fans to worship them in order to make the RA2 and TBS Remaster and surprisingly Renegade X is not available on Steam.

I really hope EA just go bankrupt already and give Petroglyph (aka former Westwood) back the C&C franchise. They recently released C&C Legion, which is one of those crappy reskin of a resource gathering and base building mobile game. Think Mafia City, State of Survival etc. This is what EA is doing to C&C nowadays, compared to the old days when they actually took the effort of releasing a mobile port of Red Alert 3, C&C 3, and heck, even C&C 4 on the J2ME platform., or more recently, C&C Rivals.
People in the C&C facebook group had actually asked Petroglyph about a Remaster 2, and the answer is "really depend on what EA decides, as this is currently their IP". Disappointing answer, but very true, whether we like it or not.
About cnc4, that crap was a mobile game already, just "upgraded" and reskined because EA for some unholy reason wanted that to be the cnc4.
Basically cnc4 was just some crappy mobile game but got the cnc name shoved in it. The more we learn about the development history of this, the worse it gets

Let's just remaster the actual games that aren't free and have only two high end standalone mods, RA2/YR. Tibsun is freeware and cncnet made them compatible with win10/11 unlike RA2/YR.

Them selling it to Disney would be worse than what they're doing. Legion is not a game actually intended for an audience. It was released because EA wants to hold on to the IP, and they would loose it to Petroglyph if they did nothing with it. To them, someone else making money with an IP they once held is money that could have been theirs, and thus unnacceptable, even if they don't intend to ever make money with the IP again. In case of Dungeon Keeper, they don't need to do that, because there is no one esle the IP could be transferred to anymore, if they don't use it.
Give the rights back to the pepole that worked on the game in the first place which is Petroglyph as for Disney F..K no they are even worse than EA which is a massive achievement
