Being an EA Partner has provided me with a key for the complete collection on Steam.
Do you think that we will see another remaster down the line or do you feel the EA will reboot the franchise?

Do you think that we will see another remaster down the line or do you feel the EA will reboot the franchise? I do feel that EA is testing to see how the feedback will be regarding this releasing on Steam so here is hoping we would see more from the franchise.

with the love letter the last one they did....they'd get my money for everyone they do
So long as they can milk the franchise for every last penny, almost certainly. Hopefully, they'll have the sense to keep intersectional parasites like Sour Baby Inc. and their fellow travellers WELL away from the project.
I haven't played Red alert 2 in 20 years or so. I don't plan on doing so until an actual remaster is available on Steam. Hopefully that includes tiberium Sun as well.

I think red alert 2 yuri revenge remaster should be the first priority if they ever want to remaster any cnc game.
I think they should do what was done with the first remaster and do both Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 in one package.

RA2 is more popular for sure, but TibSun has much more to give with a reasonable remaster that grinds down the rough edges.
I would SO love to see Tiberian Sun get the Remaster treatment.... but I'm happier than a punk going to prison that it's now officially available on Steam. While I have purchased the game numerous times before... I didn't hesitate to buy it again on Steam, and didn't gripe one bit having to buy the entire collection to get it. To me, it was well worth the $7 price of the collection (pro-rated down because I had already bought C&C 3 (both versions) and C&C 4 on Steam when they released) just to get Tiberian Sun.
I can't lie about it, Tiberian Sun is my favorite of the entire franchise, and that says a lot, considering how much I raved over the Tiberian Dawn Remaster. I know I'm not alone in this. So, if you read this and can contact the C&C people again, please tell them that they not only have our attention, but some of us are downright drooling on our desks over the possibility of a Tiberian Sun Remaster. I will go so far as to say that I would pay a "modern game price" for it. But until then, I am very happy and excited to play the current version on Steam.
Tiberian Sun is hands down the best one in the series. The atmosphere in that game is unbeatable.
yes! I always loves tib sun the best for the atmosphere and the cool units, but being born in 1999 I found the gameplay too stiff to be fun. Especially the game speeds with fast being too slow and faster being way too fast for me to keep up with. If we could get it with the improvements made in ra2 I would play it all the time. Though they would have to be very carful with the remasters art style if they get that wrong and ruin the atmosphere it would be a shame, but at least we would be able to play with the original graphics and the gameplay improvements.
Need Zero Hour with more generals.
I like the idea of generals, but I like RR2/YR style and game play better.
I shall direct you to moddb for a lot of mods with additional generals. Firestorm, Contra and Shockwave are ones i'd recommend
A good remaster of zero hour with some balancing, bug fixes (scud bug, map hack for example), improved netcode, maybe better skirmish ai and I'm totally happy. Loved that game back then. And of course the map editor. Those no money maps were awesome!
Dr Thrax is such a under-rated character and I can only salavate a remasted soundtrack to go with it.
I would absolutely LOVE a new Command & Conquer/Red Alert game... as long as we went back to how it was before and up to C&C 3.
Red Alert 3 felt lacking, and C&C 4... well, we don't talk about that for good reason...

I think it will be ramsters if Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun in 2025 when it's 30th anniversary of the franchise.
Agreed with them putting the other games on Steam now they may give us the second collection next year and it would actually be the perfect time to do it

I kinda thought that the remaster was a perfect storm and there wouldn't be anything further from EA on the CnC front. This gives me hope.

How do you play RA2 on higher res and in widescreen? Weren't able to set that through the PCGamingWiki article :/

From reading the title alone, I'd say NO DOUB'T, they didn't just dump all those C&C games on Steam all of a sudden at very generous discount just out of the goodness of their hearts.
Remastering games from the 90's and 00's has been the safest and surest bet yet, I honestly never thourght I'd be able to play Renegade again.
I'm hopeful, don't crush my dreams please.

I hadn't thought about it because I already had some games on Steam, but this might make it easier to play Tib Sun and RA2 on Linux... the latter required a fair amount of trial and error to get running. The EA launcher was not working at all when I last tried, so not needing that is nice.
I had a lot of fun while playing Twisted Insurrection few years ago, so I think that there still is potential in TS and RE2.

Also as a follow up to my previous comment we may see something big next year because next year is the 30th anniversary of Command and Conquer so they may see how well the ultimate collection does on Steam and next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary we may get a second remastered collection

The remaster was a success but that does not mean it was a big enough success for EA. His statement pretty much confirms that they haven't been doing anything new with C&C and if the remaster was a big enough success for EA then they would have already greenlit a second collection and we would be hearing rumors about it already. These re releases was just a simple way to get a income bump from mostly people who already bought the games before.
True, but EA actually patched and optimized all of the Westwood titles as well as Generals for modern machines with the steam release, originally the Ultimate Collection was just a straightforward port with almost no patching.
EA didn't have to do that since community patches exist, but they did it anyway
@@KaneLivesInDeath Besides the fact those patches are cheap to make they do have to do them or else they risk being sued for selling defective products.
Question is what's big enough for EA. If the sales have met their expectations. They've certainly met mine but sadly, I'm not EA.

The way I see it is that Jim along with other members of EA may see how well the ultimate collection does on Steam and then see where they go from there because like you said the only ways you could play the older games was from EA Play and disc version. Out of EA play Gog and Steam Steam is the most downloaded program for pc players so there’s a chance that thousands to millions more players will be able to enjoy the other C&C games on Steam and who knows there may be even workshop community mods who knows? Also not sure if you heard but there was an article that Petroglyph is actually waiting for the green light to do Red Alert 2 remastered but time will tell

my hope since the remaster was that they'd continue the series by remastering Tiberium Wars and releasing a new expansion for it about the Forgotten to course correct the series and make a final proper CNC4
Imagine if they remastered TS with a version that built back in the features Westwood originally intended to include before EA forced them to rush publication (customisable drop pods, targetable hunter seeker etc). The irony of that would be tragic. I would play the SHIT out of it though.

Maybe, but the ending to Kane's Wrath was technically the real ending by canon.
The last GDI mission in Tiberium Wars had two endings depending on if you want to end it early (the Liquid Tiberium Bomb). If you choose to end the mission early, the consequence if the Liquid Tiberium Bomb being used would be disastrous...
Some people have a theory that Tiberian Trainwreck is a canon sequel to the bad ending and Kane's Wrath is the sequel to the good ending.
It makes sense, too, as Tiberian Trainwreck pretty much has no references to Kane's Wrath other than Kane being in possession of the Tacitus, however it was considered unstable in Kane's Wrath, but no signs of instability was shown in Tiberian Trainwreck.
Though I find it strange that they didn't release all these classics on GOG given that it is what the stores focuses on.
weird to say this...but with the last remaster I trust EA to do a good job with more.....I'd give them every cent they wanted for them as well.

I grew up with those games and I locked them unfortunate even on Steam some of them don't even work especially commanding conga generals series if the games doesn't work it should not be on any platform as sincerely hope EA or steam actually do some updates so so the cables shouldn't do all sorts of triggering her makes things work it should just work when you buy it

hi RedTieGuy i am command and conquer fan since 1995 when it came out but i am happy it on steam now i could play them on steam not on the EA app 🙂
Yeah, I still hope they will remaster games like Tiberian Sun. That would be the coolest thing ever, to be honest. These RTS games are a HALLMARK and why not? EA keeps on pouring money into these old games anyhow so why not give them a new lease on life by putting them in .NET sandbox like with Command and Conquer Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert?

feels like EA dont respect the IP anymore an they support it at the bare minimum level if at all the occasional remaster or collection just feels like a way to remind us C&C fans of what we will never get again. damn it EA it seems to be the year of RTS make something happen before you miss this opportunity as well

They could use Ai and make Joseph Kucan (Kane) appear young, create a new sequel with Unreal. I mean damn ONE PERSON COULD DO IT WITH TODAYS TECH and some imagination which EA does not have. They should sell the franchise to someone with knowhow but given they are a monster corporation that just does what any monster corporation does, that is they vacuum up anything of value and just sit on it. Greed. That's happening everywhere with everything.

We can only hope. Though I think the current political situation in Eastern Europe will bar an RA2 remaster for the foreseeable future. With the sheer amount of work the Voxel games would require though, we might see a Tib Sun remaster instead of a double volume like the first.
I don't see why not a Tib Sun remaster with a new campaign DLC other then firestorm. Because westwood did supposed to have a mutant campaign and a full on map editor included in the base game back in 99, only that it was cut because EA told them to release it early.

@@SavilianaIf EA gives the project to Petroglyph (as they should), we might see them add some stuff that had been left on the cutting room floor. But it all depends on whether they still have the data for that, and if is in a state to include it.
For Example: Adding a third Campaign could be cool, maybe but if there are no videos (FMV/CGI) for it then it might feel lackluster compared to the other two. Or perhaps they had made a whole pack of levels for it, but those have been lost to time. In that case, I don't think EA will put up the funds to have Petro remake them.
@@Exile1a LemonSky did fantastic work on the sprites for the first Remaster, so I'd love to see what they can do with TS. But also consider, if we get new content/mission, even without FMV to go with them, we should still be appreciative of that fact, and understand that what is missing was never actually made.
Also, you're 100% right in that Petroglyph should get the project lead on a Remaster.

Yea, if at all they could bring FUTURE COP back. Dont care about them CNC's, they work, their still great so thats it. And Rebooting the series? THat would require KANE to actualy DIE wich he WONT! Remember : HE was the one MAKING the ENTIRE STORY, yes that includes Twilight so frell you who dont like it! Its the conclusion, nothing more, nothing less.
So rather than doing any work on TS RM, GIVE US FUTURE COP FFS!

There is a possibility for a new C&C Game however (not another remaster), bcs Jim is working with Respawn to make a new upcoming Star Wars RTS game.
If that succeed, EA might want Respawn to make a new C&C game in future. But who knows? Could be another 5-10 years before we’ll see it happen. :)
