If you're not going to get the Mini 3 because of the lack of obstacle sensors, then you shouldn't be flying drones anyway.. In my opinion the Mini 3 is a really good successor to the Mini 2 and a budget friendly Mini 3 Pro alternative.
I left my mini 2 high up in a tree. I ordered the mini 3 with the new RC and couldn’t be happier. The mini 3 flies much more smoothly and quietly. The controller is well worth the money.
I have had the mini 3 for three weeks and I really enjoy it’s performance over the mini 2 great little drone I would recommend it for the ones getting into drones
Honest and wonderful video. My thoughts exactly. I have the mini 2, and the mini 3 just isn’t enough for an upgrade. Going to save more money for the mini 3 pro. Thanks.
I bought this drone as my first drone, and is awesome, picture and video quality is excellent, if you are careful and responsible you don't need obstacles avoidance, this is a mini drone that will surely bring excitement, so go ahead and buy it you won't regret it.
@@camerazone_ yeah but it is way more expensive aswell, this vid pretends that the mini 3 isn't good at all, in price comparison, the mini 3 is better than the mini 3 pro
@@kos2006facts, just got a mini 3 for $469 and it’s great. I’m grateful I didn’t have to spend twice as much just to get 60fps and 48mp. I just wanted a cheaper drone that shoots vertical that wasn’t $700-$900, most cinematic shots don’t even go over 30fps
@@camerazone_ Why are you comparing the Mini 3 to a Pro model? A Pro ANYTHING is going to be better than a non-PRO device...that's a given. As well, there's a rather significant price difference between the Mini 3 and the Mini 3 Pro. As it is now, the 3 Pro isn't even in production anymore and it's only been a year since you published this video.
It's always good to learn to fly without obstacle avoidance that way learn how to avoid obstacles on your own in case the obstacle avoidance fails and you are not panicking
Think your a bit harsh, the price difference is quite a bit, you could have explained it better. Its almost as if you have something against the mini 3.
I always turn off obstacle avoidance. As it saves on battery power. Unless i am using active track. But most of the time when i fly I fly between 200ft and 400 ft not very many obstacles to avoid at that altitude.
Not buying the Mini 3 because the Mini 3 Pro exists is just like saying you shouldn't buy the Mavic 3 Classic because the mavic 3 Cine exists. Different price points for different budgets. I will agree that it's not PRO level but if you're looking for a beginner level drone, same way as with getting the M3C if you're not looking for a pretty much enterprise level bird, then the Mini 3 can be the right fit for you. Because hey $200 is $200!
@@XavierBaker not the accent...the actual word "optical"....was put on the screen. I could care less about someones accent...but information needs to be accurate if you're gonna put out a video about a new product 🤷🏻♂️
My brand new mini 3 is fresh out of the box, still charging as the app is downloading, both while watching this video, lol! Iow, I hope you're criticism is wrong! P.S. its my first ever drone
Without optical avoidance you are forced to be a much more careful pilot. The camera on the Mini 3 is a great improvement over the Mini 2. I love mine.
I've seen a couple of vids comparing mini se and mini 2, and it seems like the SE it's ok, but its not worth it for the price, better to invest a little more in the mini2
I disagree but only in that the Pro model overheats b/c it doesn't have an internal fan or the vents on the front. The pro is for FAA 107 test passers & the mini 3 is more acceptable for those with only a TRUST-certificate. Sadly the sensor models might be a decade too early to be apart of the under-250 class.
Showing and telling people on a video not to buy a drone just because it doesn't have Obstacle Avoidance is in my opinion a bit risky and to be fair, looking at the DJI Mini 3 it looks like one of the best drones in the DJI series. I agree with @claytonware3562 if you aren't buying this because of the lack of Obstacle Avoidance Sensors then you shouldn't be flying a drone at all. This is exactly why the UK as VLOS rules and TOAL rules to stop drones from hitting obstacles. Typical Europe
Not being able to shoot 60 fps & in D-cine is a big bummer. Still a great drone but unfortunate for how expensive it is, they couldn’t just make those features available. Would recommend to beginners, not consistent full time creators
I prefer the compactness for storing the mini 2. The mine 3 and pro are too bulky, it makes all the difference for making the choice for bringing the drone or not on a hike. Making a mini 2 pro makes more sense, just need the better gimbal with the bigger sensor, everything else the mini 2 is perfect for my needs. I think the mini 3 and pro overall great upgrades, just not for me.
Hi, you mentioned “mini 2 pro”? I don’t think there’s such a thing …, there’s a mini 2 & SE but not a pro version, correct me if I’m wrong … But you’re right, the mini 3 it’s not all that to spend all that $$…
Interesting opinion: But I just ordered the mini 3 I already have the mini 2, and mini 3 pro, along with the mavic Air 2 and air 2s so the mini 3 will go along great with my 4 other DjI drones.
No regular mini has obstacle avoidance mini mini2 mini se none of them. It can do a couple of thing no comparable price mini vertical video shoot above wider aperture
I think you are missing the whole point. It's perfect for those of us who already know how to fly and do not need obstacle avoidance. The camera and range are what's important to me. Another words, I can get the same camera for half the price of the Mini 3 pro. However I will not buy it for any of the reasons you have mentioned. Personally, I think this drone is ugly. Capable, but ugly. I just want my drones to have a little style; something that makes me enjoy flying it.
Get a mini 2 or the mini 3 Pro the mini 3 is not worth buying you can now get the autel nano plus combo for around £600 now and that has got one great camera and good night filming and obstacle avoidance but that's my opinion I've got the mini 3 pro and it's a great drone so I would save up and gi for that with everything on it or go with the autel but on a budget the mini 2 is so good and reliable and more durable than all that I've mentioned and it's at a fantastic price now. 😁👌👍 🇬🇧

You can always turn off the obstacle sensor for learning purpose, but it'd have been better if they added them in the first place.
