Tactical dual wielding, aiming around corners blind firing, laying on ur floor dodging nearly all attacks. 🤣 No this feels like raw sex to a condom. Wayyy different gameplay.
That ture already had a feeling playing RE4VR again. Mostly because shooting is perfect. But knowing that they added the Mercenaries mode at that point I needed to play it again.

I love the vr mercs, its so fun. Anyone else agree its creepy though? Actually gets my heart pumping with all the Ganados in my face lol. Also love the challenge addition…what a great idea. Keeps one of my favorite games fresh.
I've been doing a lot of mercenaries on vr and I found that you can pick up the bonus point hour glass from the chest and just hold onto it and carry it to a good spot where you can rack up some good points
@alanperez3571 no its only a vr thing. The vr version allows you to do a lot of things you can't do on any console or PC version. You can hold the hour glass with your left hand and have your pistol in the right hand and just hang onto it till you need it. It's very satisfying lol

actually RE4 VR is a lot easier since u can run and shoot (although the classic option is available) AND you can dual wield too! not even counting how cool it is to just grab stuff like crazy when its payday!
There is nothing particular about VR that makes the games objectively harder. It all depends on what you're used to, just like between controllers and KeyboardMouse.
The trick is to keep combos up and use the bonus chests. I recommend checking out my scoring guide and 60k tips and tricks guides for the console versions to learn more.
Resident Evil 4 VR now give me the feel like when I first time play in PS2 , so surprise for us player , wish Oculus can release more childhood game like RE 4 VR

Yeah, being able to rapid fire the shotgun makes Leon a good character lol And I love both versions equally, but VR is very different in terms of high score strats, which I'm currently experimenting with.
He spawns in from your starting position if you're on the ground floor and have killed 25 enemies. If you go up to the canon area he won't spawn. Check my Complete Guide to VR Mercenaries for more info.
I have every unlock except the Handcannon and Golden Guns and they are both kicking my ass at the moment 5 stars on every map & challenge is just a nightmare
Easier on VR since you can move better and aim faster, you can physically turn around to shoot someone behind you real quick and then keep shooting ahead of you, 5 star everything with bow and arrows, felt bad ass af

I got to try this. I got 4 star with Leon ADA and hunk. And could never figure out how to get 5 stars. Funny Play RE4 sense hell probably when it came out but never bother with the battle mode.
I'm sorry, why did they change the goal score requirements to double what was needed in the original RE4? I have to get 120k for 5 stars? Now it feels like I'll never get the handcannon.
I'm incredibly frustrated. I cannot for the life of me get 5 stars on this map. Closest I got was 118k with Hunk. I'm so discouraged. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The numbers seem to not be consistent. I got a 70 kill combo and still remained below 100k. 😫
Which map? This video shows all 4. And the numbers are consistent. I recommend watching my Scoring System Guide to understand in depth how the scoring works.
@@Mofoleo Remember that you only need 5 stars on each map once for this version. It doesn't have to be with the same character or with all the characters. Other tips can be found in my 60k tips and tricks for the original versions. But basic tips are: Start each combo with a bonus chest. Kill bosses after the 10th kill in a combo Keep moving between areas while keeping one enemy alive in case the combo starts flashing.
Given that you can rapid fire it like this once you work out how, yeah, it is a bit broken. But given how weak and slow Leon was in the original version of the game, I'm not complaining.

got 4/5 and 5/5 on all these Mercenaries challenges, yet I still don't know what the hour glasses do exactly! Is it best to run around gathering all the time extensions and hourglasses straight away or staggering it to extend the time - if this would do that..
VR does offer a tutorial and I have a bunch of different guides. Anyway, the time extensions you can grab whenever you like. The hourglasses in the chests are combo bonuses, increasing the points you earn from kills for 30s.
What anoys me is on mine they stop spanning in as much with me like I kill so many but then there’s like none left to kill cues they spawn to slow or sonetbhjbng

Mercenaries mode has a set difficulty level, there's no such thing as "easy". And I understand the spawns for the enemies, allowing me to manipulate them in my favour. I cover this in my guides.
I’ve been trying to get a five star score on here and I keep having trouble. I’m rewatching this over and over to see if there’s a trick to it. Any tips?
I don't find it that bad usually, if it's on the floor then you can hover your hand over it and you can pick it up. Otherwise, having a decent playspace is important so you can reach if need be
@@Sarcosuchas I have a large space. I'll often grab a magazine for a reload instead of the ammo on the floor or vise versa. Especially during mercenaries since it's pretty fast paced at times.
I've been playing RE4 Mercs since 2005, so I already know enemy spawns etc. I do indeed use immersive; and I fire the shotgun quickly by pumping it quickly. That's how fast I'm physically doing it.

@@biggiesmallslancer419 Because you don't need to make the action you would with a real size shotgun, so you can shortcut the animation a bit. I have several guides for mercenaries available (Non VR but the core concepts still work fine) that may be able to help you.
I have tips and tricks guides for all characters on all maps for the original (non VR) versions of the game. Most of those tactics carry over to VR, with VR being easier due to freedom of movement and being able to rapid fire the shotgun. In any case, I have a VR Mercenaries guide on the way

Check out my 60k tips and tricks guides. They're for the original version of Mercenaries but they work for this version too. Once you understand the basics, it gets much easier.
Subjective really. On VR all characters are more equal than before. Wesker has the most powerful loadout. HUNK is the character I play best with Krauser is the most efficient for VR world records.

First off, it doesn't help that everytime i attempt the first level i spawn nowhere near your spawn point, and it seems like i never have enough grenades as you even though i follow basically the same path, and I just mow down enemy after enemy and only ended up with 116,000. I just don't get it. It's extremely disheartening.
You react as if this was meant to be a guide when it isn't. Restarting the checkpoint will eventually get you to spawn where I did, as there's only 3 spawn points on each stage except Castle which only has one. You also don't need the grenades really, as they aren't very helpful in VR due to the nerf they received. I recommend watching my actual VR Mercenaries Guide video, that explains in-depth the scoring system, the spawning system for enemies, and general strategies for each character on each map.
@@bigdmoment8878 It's VR, so its in first person. The only thing you're not really seeing is my gun a lot of the time because that bottom gets cut off to preserve the 16:9 aspect ratio. There's a world of difference between it being a bit zoomed in and it being very difficult to see.
@@Sarcosuchas Those are not VR games. In RE4 VR you have to look down at your chest to see the ammo counter and it's pretty hard to see with the blurry quality.
@@hajinka98_ The quality shouldn't be blurry, your headset needs adjustments if its blurry. And you don't need to look down at your chest. Your ammo can be seen on your left wrist, or by checking the inventory.

The combo time lasts the same as in the original, you've got around 10 seconds

got 4/5 and 5/5 on all these Mercenaries challenges, yet I still don't know what the hour glasses do exactly! Is it best to run around gathering all the time extensions and hourglasses straight away or staggering it to extend the time - if this would do that..
VR does offer a tutorial and I have a bunch of different guides.
Anyway, the time extensions you can grab whenever you like. The hourglasses in the chests are combo bonuses, increasing the points you earn from kills for 30s.

What anoys me is on mine they stop spanning in as much with me like I kill so many but then there’s like none left to kill cues they spawn to slow or sonetbhjbng

These scores are generally lower than my console abilities, though VR has more enemies so that makes the score ceiling much higher

Mercenaries mode has a set difficulty level, there's no such thing as "easy".
And I understand the spawns for the enemies, allowing me to manipulate them in my favour. I cover this in my guides.

How do you get more challenge coin so u can unlock the rewards? i only get like 1 after each round or sometimes none
By completing each challenge with 5 stars.
Even tho I seen it done I still feel like it's impossible

I wish it wasn't such a PitA to pick up ammo and items. That is the number one thing that messes me up.
I don't find it that bad usually, if it's on the floor then you can hover your hand over it and you can pick it up.
Otherwise, having a decent playspace is important so you can reach if need be
@@Sarcosuchas I have a large space. I'll often grab a magazine for a reload instead of the ammo on the floor or vise versa. Especially during mercenaries since it's pretty fast paced at times.

How'd you do all this? And how do you fire so quickly with the shotgun? And I'm assuming you use immersive for this and to run faster than comfort?
I've been playing RE4 Mercs since 2005, so I already know enemy spawns etc.
I do indeed use immersive; and I fire the shotgun quickly by pumping it quickly. That's how fast I'm physically doing it.
@@Sarcosuchas Good lord, how can you pump it that quick? I use comfort because it's actually much easier on me, yet I can't run fast with the comfort settings. I just got 5 star on village with Leon today, I'm just average in mercenaries. It takes me several tries to 5 star a stage
@@biggiesmallslancer419 Because you don't need to make the action you would with a real size shotgun, so you can shortcut the animation a bit.

It's how fast I can pump it, since it relies on the player's speed.

I have tips and tricks guides for all characters on all maps for the original (non VR) versions of the game. Most of those tactics carry over to VR, with VR being easier due to freedom of movement and being able to rapid fire the shotgun.

@@localcancersurvivor You only need to get 5 stars on each map to get the handcannon on VR. As seen in this video, got it with Leon without needing to use the other characters.

Check out my 60k tips and tricks guides. They're for the original version of Mercenaries but they work for this version too. Once you understand the basics, it gets much easier.
Which Character is best for these modes?
Subjective really. On VR all characters are more equal than before.
Wesker has the most powerful loadout.
HUNK is the character I play best with
Krauser is the most efficient for VR world records.

First off, it doesn't help that everytime i attempt the first level i spawn nowhere near your spawn point, and it seems like i never have enough grenades as you even though i follow basically the same path, and I just mow down enemy after enemy and only ended up with 116,000. I just don't get it. It's extremely disheartening.
You react as if this was meant to be a guide when it isn't. Restarting the checkpoint will eventually get you to spawn where I did, as there's only 3 spawn points on each stage except Castle which only has one.
You also don't need the grenades really, as they aren't very helpful in VR due to the nerf they received.
I recommend watching my actual VR Mercenaries Guide video, that explains in-depth the scoring system, the spawning system for enemies, and general strategies for each character on each map.

I literally show all the runs in full, so you can see me pick up the grenades. I don't understand your confusion unless you're not watching.
I don't get grenade drops from kills alot of times. I see the regular pick ones you get.
That's just RNG, there's no trick to it but luck.
This fov settings you’re playing on is really difficult to see
How is it difficult to see? Everything on screen is visible in 4k quality.
What I mean is it looks very zoomed in.
@@bigdmoment8878 It's VR, so its in first person. The only thing you're not really seeing is my gun a lot of the time because that bottom gets cut off to preserve the 16:9 aspect ratio.
There's a world of difference between it being a bit zoomed in and it being very difficult to see.

This is very fucking frustrating as you have to constantly reloading in mercenaries
The only games I can think of that don't require manual reloading are Doom, RE5 and RE Mercs 3D. Seems an odd complaint to me.
@@Sarcosuchas Those are not VR games. In RE4 VR you have to look down at your chest to see the ammo counter and it's pretty hard to see with the blurry quality.
@@hajinka98_ The quality shouldn't be blurry, your headset needs adjustments if its blurry.
And you don't need to look down at your chest. Your ammo can be seen on your left wrist, or by checking the inventory.
