I cannot thank you enough for this! I had no idea how the spawns worked, so I kept trying to hold out for as long as I could (after I heard that a good strategy for Leon was to hide in the barn) and I would eventually run out of enemies and drop the combo. Also, that was some EXCELLENT gameplay in the background.
Very much appreciate you making this video! Seeing how a real pro plays is awesome and this is all of the info that I need but I don’t have the free time to grind out the game to learn everything myself! Thanks dude!
One small tip that i have, when activating Bonus Time. You need to kill as many things as fast as you can. I kept using Wesker melee strikes. Which are way slower than just 1 handing the sniper rifle
Great video, if youre still doing re4 vr content, you should consider making a 5 star route guide, as the point increase on quest 2 to 125000 for 5 stars makes it quite a bit more difficult, especially if enemy spawns arent perfectly in your favor
There's no need for such a guide when this guide already covers the relevant information. The spawns are infinite on this version unlike the original, so memorizing the spawn lines and moving between them is all that's needed.
Thanks this is a big help Sarcosuchas. I am currently stuck on Leon in the village struggle to get to 60,000, but I will soon. It was good when you said this was the hardest one.
I wish I could use the immersive movement mode without getting severe motion sickness after around 10 minutes.😅 But thank you for the guide. It was extremely frustrating when enemies "suddenly" stopped spawning in sufficient numbers. Without your tips my cap was barely above the 4 star threshold. Now it is: "Handcannon ahoy!" 😆
@@Sarcosuchas I got the Handcannon with Krauser. It was a breeze after watching the guides. Learning about the enemy spawn points was key. Thank you so much for this guide. I never thought I could get 5 stars on any of the maps. I'll be uploading those runs on youtube soon ^_^
Woooo just got my 5 stars. Hunk on Village and Castle and Wesker on Island and Dockside. Weirdly my Handcannon isn't showing up at the vendor in game... It definitely said it unlocked.
here i got yall, want 5 stars on everything, unlock ada, use ada to unlock krauser, use krauser to unlock wesker, use wesker to unlock hunk, go back to all of the levels and beat all of them with hunk.
I’ve probably watched this video a dozen times or so. I need 1 more 5 star Completion on castle I’m using hunk the whole time but not having a secondary weapon is a huge downside . But I think this time I’ll get it right… hopefully 🤷♂️
The only issue I come across when trying to 5 star these missions is ammo and how it'll just disappear or enemies won't drop any it can really screw with your combo and ruin the flow of what your doing cause now you gotta scramble for ammo
Balancing thing I imagine. They have weaker attacks than most of the other ganado. In turn, Militia ganado deal the most damage but have the least health on average.
the first time i played mercenaries I went straight for the island and on my second run I got 55000 points tryna get 60000 for my boy hunk but I have never been able to get close to that again
Yo those spawn loops on dockside are weird like after half way through all enemies stopped spawning even after I tried doing a loop I don't know if I got my locations mixed up or if I'm just back
Do you mind making an updated version? Anytime I try your methods don’t work. Like enemies don’t spawn were you say they’re gonna spawn in that finishing move you do on the chainsaw sisters doesn’t work either. Maybe you should make an updated version so I can actually do this.
If my methods aren't working for you then you're not doing them correctly. The enemy spawns are dependant on how many enemies are on screen at a time (maximum 10) and your movements when crossing the spawn lines. The spawn lines shouldn't even cause issue on VR given that there's infinite enemies unlike the original version of the game. I also don't understand how the finishing move on the Chainsaw sisters, presumably you're referring to HUNK's neckbreaker, doesn't work. I assume you mean you are failing to perform the move, as the move always kills them as it is hard-coded into the game and has been since the original Gamecube release.
@@Sarcosuchas even if I kill every single person on the map then I run the way he told me to run and no enemy come. Like I almost had four stars on the village with like a four minute left I kept running around the map and I name is responding. When north south east and west went to the house is no enemies.
I suggest updating your game or headset. If you ran through the entire village and all the houses for 4 minutes and not a single enemy appeared, then your game is bugged or the headset has a problem.
Just like you do any other melee move. Stun them by shooting them in the head, then use the action button to use the move. So, this means your accusation that my tips don't work boils down to you not understanding how to play the game?
Irrelevant question to anyone interested; has anybody encountered a novistador infinite jumping glitch?? I came across one playing a cleared game today and I laughed 😂 I'm uploading it soon so as to be seen 😂
The only thing lazier than this dogshit asset flip game mode is that most of the game's bonus content is locked behind it so they wouldn't have to do Separate Ways.
You realise that Mercenaries was in the original game too, right? And VR even expanded on it with an exclusive challenge mode. And Separate Ways is just as much of an "asset-flip" as Mercenaries, if not even more so. The most likely reason for not doing Separate Ways was probably one of 3 possibilities. 1. Capcom didn't want them to do it for whatever reason or the contract expired/wasn't renewed. 2. Issues with using the grapple gun feature in VR, though this seems unlikely as it could just be a small scene like melees. 3. For the cutscenes to be displayed well, they would need to be remastered and that has never been done. The PS2 version, which debuted Separate Ways, could not generate real-time cutscenes, so all the cutscenes on that version are video files only. The Separate Ways cutscenes are therefore stuck as 480p videos unless Capcom remakes them from scratch, which is never happening.
@@Sarcosuchas I know it was in the original, it sucked then too but at least there was less locked behind it. Now it's not only the garbage original but even worse challenges. That's unfortunate about the cutscenes, I didn't realize that. Mercenaries should still be able to be skipped with cheats or something.
I don't see what sucks about Mercenaries, honestly or why it needs cheats to skip it. It provides a fun challenge and getting the 5 star requirement isn't even that difficult with a bit of practice.

This may be a dumb question but... what does "in a row" mean in this game? What causes the in-a-row counter to reset?
Consecutive kills within a time limit of 10 seconds.
It resets if you fail to kill something within 10 seconds

On VR ammo doesn't disappear, so if you don't grab it then it'll sit there while you move on and prevent more from dropping.
