    I just got mine installed today! Big improvement! Installation is even more simple than the video!
    I pulled the forks off my dyna to do it, and it made it very easy to drain all the awful OEM fluid out of the tubes. And it’s as simple as filling with fluid, dropping in the valves, installing the springs and spacers and you’re done! Much better control over bumps and it feels much more controlled going into and through corners now! Although I will be getting heavier springs, as I reused my stock springs as I thought I’d be fine as I’m a fairly light guy, but they still give me a bit more brake dive than I’d like like. Although the brake dive happens over a much longer period of time. Also I noticed I had to turn the rebound up on my Bitubo rear shocks from 1 to 3 to now match the front!

      Yes, agreed. On these the Softails are easy too. The Road King also. The Touring models with fairings add about 40 minutes to the job. You do NOT need to remove the fairing. The fork clamps can be loosened with the fairing in place. Remove fender, remove calipers, remove wheel and then slide the forks out. 👍

    Do you know if having taller dampeners will make it so I can’t use these? I’m talking about the TrackerDie dampeners to replace the stock ones. I wanted to raise the front end 2 inches and they say it helps the ride but I’d like to get these too if I can pair them.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад +2

      The Itiminators work with the TrackerDie dampers. Make sure to get the "standard", not the "drilled for emulators". and you're good. Whichever height you choose, does not matter. Here is a video on how they work- ruclips.net/video/N1cUpgNJ7i8/видео.html

    That was a lot of preload , needs stiffer springs ! ?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад +1

      No, then it would not give the ideal ride. Sag should be 25-33 % of all available travel, and we set it to right around 30%, so the springs were perfect for the weight of the owner of that Sporty. Could we achieve that 30% with stiffer spring and less pre-load? Yes, but then the ride would be stiffer than optimum.
      Yes, without the Intiminators, that might be beneficial, to keep it from bottoming out. But that it is one of the benefits of the Intiminators, you can have softer springs and still not bottom out because of the IAS inside.

      Yeah, they drain out the very bottom at the bolt that holds the damper rod in. They do not have one on the side of the fork tube like in the video.

    • @ut1004bp
      @ut1004bp 2 года назад +1

      @@DKCustomProducts Yes, thanks.. oil can drain after removing the damper rods (if your oil isn't old and gummy), but Ideally one would not want to remove the damper rod as the Intimator just slides down on top of the damper rod before the spring (right??) so remove of the oil would need to be sucked out or dumped out I suspect (on the 49mm touring models)

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 года назад +1

      @@ut1004bp Ideally one would remove the forks and thoroughly clean out the tubes. Then reassemble everything clean with the Intiminators installed. We did mention that in the video...we did show the short cut on the Sporty since that is the way that most opt to do it...but that short cut is not something to do on the touring models...although, it is possibly doable on the RK...but one would still need to remove the axle (and wheel) to get to the damper bolts to drain it out.

    Bummer that these aren't meant for 48's

      They do fit all 48's up thru 2015 as is. On 2016 and later 48's Many Customers have replaced the cartridge on one side with the standard damper rod and then used the Intiminators with good results.
