    I just bought a Hellcat brand new about a month ago and finally started shooting a week ago, and between three trips to my local indoor range I have put 300 rounds through it so far and not a single malfunction so far and I will be going again tomorrow and Thursday putting a couple boxes through it each day. I bought the OSP version and I just put a holosun 407k on it and it's my first firearm with an optic so I'm practicing to get good with it so lots of trips to my local indoor range, but yeah, 300 straight rounds without cleaning it and no problems so far 🙂

    All good quality modern handguns are amazingly reliable to me. The differences seem very small. I am old enough to remember the reliability debates and how reluctant police were to change to semi autos, because the standard 1911, Browning Hi-power, PPK, Walther P-38 etc. were just not that reliable. They required expert gunsmithing to function well. Even the wonderful sig P 210s were less than perfect, though amazingly accurate. I remember being on a range near Zurich on range day for the locals and watching basically every handgun jam once a magazine. Of course, a poorly made or maintained revolver can jam as well. I have a Glock 17 that is now at 25,000 rounds with no failure of any kind. My 26 has failed twice to set off really hard NATO primers but never failed on commercial ammo.
    Of course, ammunition is much better too. You used to open a box of 50 and expect to find a couple with backwards primers or poorly seated primers or an incompletely seated bullet. And this is top line manufacturers.

    Both the P365 and Hellcat are solid guns, my experience is the Hellcat is the more robust offering and the P365 is the better shooter. The Hellcat is really designed like a beefed up Glock and inherits the Glock reliability. I was all aboard the Sig train a few months ago, loved my 365XL and bought a 320 AXG Pro. The 320 died after 20 rounds, had to send back to Sig, had a catastrophic failure of the trigger bar and the gun was completely dead.Once I got it back I traded both off as I had lost faith in the platform. Luckily Im a Glock guy and already had a G45 and picked up a 43X for situations that require a smaller gun. I’d be really interested in a comparison between the 43x/48, Hellcat Pro and P356XL/XMacro as I feel those are the best size all around carry guns, small enough to flex into pocket carry, but big enough for home defense or light duty use, if Glock ever makes a 26 MOS with a rail, that’ll be my primary carry.

    Can't wait to follow the Hellcat journey. For me, it's my most accurate pistol. The old lady doesn't like the snappiness and says the grip hurts her hands. 🤷‍♂️
    She did enjoy the Tisas PX9, though. Shot it's first 100 rounds earlier. Excellent bargain pistol!

      @spnfirearms I know the channel is more about EDC, but my PX9 is the Duty model, and it's a pretty big gun. They do have a Carry version, but not for as good a price as I found the Duty model through Dunhams website. The Duty version is bigger than my SD9VE, but the grip is way better. I'd imagine the Carry model is similar in size to the Hellcat Pro since they both use 15 round flush mags.

    I'm curious on the Hellcat. I had one for 2 years, over 3, 000-4,000 rounds down range with it. Then it started having issues with slide locking back with cartridges still in the magazine, 1 crushed bullet as it was going into the battery,. Sent it back to SA in IL twice and they never could get it to run right. They claimed nothing wrong even though we had video evidence. Sold it and now have 2 holsters that are useless and took a loss on the Hellcat. I really liked it too, but not even SA could fix it. It was manufactured in 2021 and had issues with it in 2023.

I am in bad weather at times but others I have used in same condition for years have not had this problem. It depends on lifestyle and would likely be fine for most users.

    You have the pinky grip on the 365 and the flush base plate on the Hellcat. Why not swap it for a more equal comparison? A full proper grip could've changed your recoil perception. Your dipping could also be the lack of a good grip and not the trigger.

  • @peterreily1490

    I’m liking the idea of a 357 sig.
    In your opinion, would you go Glock 30SF or a M&P with the 357 sig conversion? Recoil on the 357 sig about the same as 45acp?
    I have both options available slightly used but the budget for one or the other after buying a URGI. I’m also on the fence because if 357 sig recoils significantly, I’m wondering if it’s worth it as I own 10mm’s already. I like 357 sig on paper more than 45acp. In practicality is why I’m wondering.

    • @spnfirearms
      @spnfirearms  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hm… I love the 30SF as it’s a joy to shoot. The .357 has more felt recoil but much better ballistics, is a super reliable round and a tack driver. The glock 30SF in .45 has more muzzle flip, is softer shooting and has cheaper ammo. Depending on which smith you are thinking about converting would make that decision for me. I would say Glock 30SF (or the 30s is even better) over the shield. But the m&p subcompact in .357 over the Glock! Respect

    Man I really think the slide lockback issues you’ve had with the 365 in the past are just really really bad luck. Say what you want about Sig as a company or the p320’s issues, but the general consensus online for the p365 specifically is one of great reliability. All of its early issues were addressed longgg ago. Yes Glock has history on its side, and probably has technically better quality control, but if you own a p365, and have personally trained with it and vetted that one yourself, I see no reason that it shouldn’t be trusted to carry. It’s sales to success ratio is way too high

      No sir! It’s ran everything… hardcast for the woods, civil liberty defense, hst’s, underwood, every kind of training ammo etc. it was just this one failure to feed where it was federal synertech or whatever with the weird coating on the projectile. The round went a bit sideways and it was with my Glock 20 mag. Ran flawless the next 200 rounds we stayed there and shot.. not sure what to make of it. Respect

    500 rounds aren't anything. You're breaking it in, if anything. Try about 1,500 to 2,000 rounds. Now you're talking. For each gun that is.

    • @baptistgaming91
      @baptistgaming91 5 месяцев назад

      I have to agree. Many guns are built to make it a couple hundred rounds so people think they are built well. Especially the budget stuff. It's when you get to the thousands that we see the garbage seperate from the quality.

      My 4 hellcats have over 20000 rounds between them. This was just 500 Vs 500 rounds in one sitting, in one video, in less than 35 minutes in shot over 1000 rounds. And you are wrong because my sig broke at 450 rounds. Locked out of battery with a round in the chamber.

    I want to see a series about how you hate the Sig so much that you want to see how many rounds it takes before it finally fails you. Then you at the end after about 100k rounds and something has to be replaced, you can say, "See? Sig is so unreliable! Sig uses its buyers as beta testers and after only 100k+ rounds, it failed me!" or, "SIg's trigger is trash! After 100k+ rounds, I did not get one blister or even Glock knuckle!".

  • @reachblowsdick7222

    A G29 is not a good bear gun, it's short 3.7 inch barrel doesn't give a proper 10mm round the velocity it needs to be a very effective round. Use anything with a 5 inch or more barrel in a Buffalo Bore or Underwood 10mm.

  • @alexwalker5645
    @alexwalker5645 5 месяцев назад

    First off, I have not shot either of these guns. But both feel great in the hand, both have amazing sites. I gravitate to the 365x for the compact size with just a bit more grip. Micro-Goldilocks.
    Now if only I could shoot before I buy…

    • @cosmicabyss7358
      @cosmicabyss7358 5 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah that and sig has a nasty habit of not putting safetys on their guns.
      I don't buy the bs people spew about not having a safety being so much faster to draw and protect yourself than not having one.
      Especially when you consider that you will most likely never even have to use your gun in self defense.
      Makes way more sense from a probability standpoint to have a safety on the gun you plan on carrying in which the barrel will most likely be pointed at your body at times.
      So look for a model of the P365X with a Manuel safety included if you're going to carry it because a lot of them have no safety.
