- We’ve found the best hotel with the best view of Mount Fuji at Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko)!
Not only does this hotel have a breathtaking view of Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, it also has OUTDOOR private BATH, and serves amazing AMAZING Japanese FOODS! Couldn’t ask for more :)

We took a short trip to Lake Kawaguchi (or Kawaguchiko) in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
From Shinjuku station in Tokyo, we took the train and arrived at Kawaguchiko station in only 2 hours.
The hotel is called Ubuya. It's actually a Ryokan, which means Japanese-style hotel.
It’s located in a quiet neighborhood by the lake, yet very close to Kawaguchiko station.
Ubuya offers free shuttle bus to + from the train station, but you can also take a taxi for less than 1,000 yen. Also, there's a bus stop literally right in front of the hotel. We found it super convenient to explore the town by bus!
This Ubuya hotel was amazing!
Frankly speaking, this might be the best hotel / Japanese ryokan we’ve ever experienced.
A dream view of Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko!
Super delicious Japanese foods!
ONSEN!
Outdoor private bath! OMG!
Ping-pong tables!
Massage chairs corner with a view!
and only few minutes from Kawaguchiko train station!! :O
Seriously, this hotel checked all my boxes! and more! since ping pong table is not one of my requirements :)
We had an amazing experience!
Unforgettable memory for our family ❤️
Thank you All!

damn this almost made me cry keep the vlogs going
Kawaguchiko is a lovely little town for a few days. The shuttle bus around the lake, the ropeway, the onsens and lots of nice walks available.
Lần đầu xem kênh nhưng thấy hơi tiếc vì biết kênh hơi muộn.

I just came across your vid. It is stunning and has really helped me plan my trip with hopes of staying at Ubuya. I'm checking the hotel now and plan to be there Oct 18 for 4 days!
highly recommend this place! We also want to come back!^^
Darn. They show full the entire month of October :(
:(
Really beautiful spot, but expensive, which is understandable. Might consider it when I travel there next year.
How much is it? Can’t even book it now
Hi there! Thank you for this great video! Do you have any tips on how to book this 501 room?
Thank you for this beautiful video, I smiled at the weather though, just like Scotland. A friend visited and when I asked if he liked it he said he never saw anything through the mist. 😊
thank you! Scotland is on our bucket list!^^
@@ONEGOODDREAM When you visit let me know and I’ll give you some tips. 😊
oh thank you so much in advance! ^^
@@ONEGOODDREAM It would be an honour. 😊
Thank you very much for the nice video. We would like to visit Hakone and Mt. Fuji, where do you suggest to stay in the area?I saw that Hakone is pretty requested and accommodations quite expensive. Do you recommend the Hakone-Mt.Fuji pass?Or better a private tour? Can you recommend tour companies?Thank you!
This room how much i want to make a reservation!!! 😮😮😮
I think it was about 500usd per person per night for us, all meals included.
Hi I really enjoyed your video & I was so happy that you could see Fuji-san 🗻 in the end!
We are going to Japan in March next year & want to book this place. Do you know if the outdoor bath is a hot spring or just normal water? Thank you :)
Thank you!^^ we loved this hotel! the service and the food were as amazing as the view! the outdoor bath is just normal hot water, not hot spring. we actually had the same question prior to our trip :) they do have a separate place in the hotel for hot spring bath.
@@ONEGOODDREAM Ah I see! Thank you for your reply, it definitely looks amazing! 😍
Amazing video! Thank you so much! It looked so good that it made me want to book the same room as you but there is no availability on their website for this one. How did you manage to get it? Should I try by the phone? Thank you!!
Thanks! I just booked via their website, well in advance, i think almost 2 months in advance :)
@@ONEGOODDREAM Thanks for your answer!
Beautiful. Was this the superior room?
not sure what it's called. but it was the only corner room with this outdoor bath i think.
Hi there! My fiance and I want to stay here for our honeymoon in July. Can I ask what room pacakge you booked? An amazing video, so glad you got to see Fuji-san at the end!
Hi, i think we booked the 501 room with A5 shabushabu course. we really liked it. hope you guys will like it too!
Stunning hotel however unfortunatelly full when I will be in Japan
they're so popular now^^
Maybe because you did it 😃
Awesome video! What's the best time to visit this place?
this is place is beautiful all year round thanks to the lake. we went in late autumn (beginning of Nov) and loved it! Mt Fuji was beautiful with snow on top and there was Fall Festival in town too so it was amazing!
Thank you for the video! I have a question about the room. I see that it comes with a private bathtub but does it come with a private shower as well? I briefly saw a shower in the video but wasn’t sure if it’s private or shared with other guest. Thank you!
thank you so much for watching!^^ yes, that room does have a private shower and the shower heads were amazing! it's private, not shared with others. it's within the room and has a separate door for easy access to the balcony bathtub. very convenient! i just forgot to review it thoroughly ^^
Could you please tell me what was the name of the room you stayed in? the balcony is amazing!
I'm not sure there was a name for this room. it was the corner room on the top floor (5th floor). there's only one room that has this balcony. and it was absolutely amazing!
Heaven
Awesome! What month did you go?
It was end of Oct, beginning of November, beautiful red leaves season in this area!
Love the hotel you guys stayed at but, just looking on their sites nothing available until June and only for one night. any recommendation for other in the area
yes, that hotel is hard to book now... you can check out the ones next to it, on the same road.
@@ONEGOODDREAM Any recommendation on how to book here. Love this place.
i guess you can check their website often and book right away when your preferred option comes up...
Do you know the the name>?
@@ONEGOODDREAM=whats the name of that hotel?
Hii awesome video! may I know if the onsens and sauna is gender specific? I tried to look on their website but didn't see any info regarding it. Thank you! 😄
hi, the shared onsen is separated by males/females.
@@ONEGOODDREAM thank you! 😄
How to.go to japan using train from ueno station
Is the open air bath in the balcony of the room, onsen spring water or just normal hot water?
it's just normal hot water though..
Do they have carpark for guest there?
They don't have that info on their official website, but on some sites, they say there're parking lots for 50 cars. I think you should check this with the hotel prior to your trip.
how early you booked this hotel? if we go to Kawaguchiko in Aug, 2023, when should i make reservation? thanks
we wanted to come back but it seems that they're fully booked until Dec this year. there're some rooms available during lower seasons (summer) so you should book asap when they're still available.
Thank you. I found that some hotels don't open for reservation until 6 months from your arrival date or call the hotel a year before.
Is this place tattoo friendly if doing private onsen ?
tattoo rule is for public onsen only, mostly. for this place, you have private bath so tattoo is fine. but note that the bath is only hot water, not onsen water. they also have public onsen, where tattoo rule is applied.
May I ask how to get there from Tokyo using train?
hi, here's the video about that: ruclips.net/video/v9Ijo2YKmwk/видео.html
beautiful video, but part of me died when your son dipped that beautiful piece of beef in ketchup
:):) kids! ... as long as he's happy :)
Hello. Does the room has air conditioning?
Hi, yes, it does. normally all hotel rooms in Japan are equipped with cooler and heater.
Can you book more than 3 months ahead?
sure! I think you can book up to 1 year ahead. even a year ahead, it's really hard to book this hotel now :(
It's so difficult to book
yes it's quite difficult to book this hotel now...

Hi, it was about 50,000yen/person (about 350 USD) for that room. so, about 1k usd in total for 3 of us, meals included.
May I know what is this hotel name ?
It's called Ubuya. a Japanese style Ryokan.

There are a lot of bad reviews for this place on google. Mostly about how rude and unhelpful the staff are to foreigners, staff letting themselves into guests rooms unnanounced, security calling guests baka and male staff entering female onsen to make them leave at closing. Rooms are outdated and sometimes not cleaned properly between guests (teappts still having last guests tea in them). And many say the food isnt worth the price and that it should not be considered 5, or even 4 stars hotel.
But the view! Why do I still want to go!? 😅
:O oh my! for us, we didn't have any problem. loved this place. the only problem we have with them now is that it's too hard to book them now...
Too westernized pass
