I went to Kawaguchiko back in 2017 and was happy I got to see Mt. Fuji with some snow on it but this was truly amazing! I'm hopeful to stay there again one day. EDIT: I see the answer in a below comment.
Hi, do you need to inform the hotel about your food preferences before your visit? Unfortunately, I'm unable to contact the Shuhokaku Kogetsu through Agoda or their email. Would appreciate any help!
Hi! We didn’t contact them before our visit but maybe you will be able to reach them through the contact number on their webpage. On arrival we were asked if we had any dietary requirements. Wishing you a lovely time there when you visit 😊
The visuals in this video...................... just - WOW !!!!! Stunning. Mount Fuji filming never looked better. Added to my travel playlist for future reference. Thank you. Cheers. 🥂
I love the pace and information shared here! Would have loved info on price range / your verdict after every review ~ Either ways, I subbed. Will be watching more of your Japan videos for my upcoming Tokyo trip later this year!
Beautiful scenery and videography. Can I ask what time of the year you visited, and if you know when would be ideal for fall foliage at Kawaguchiko? Thank you!
We visited in January ☺️ I think November is a good time for fall foliage though the exact dates for the ideal colours vary from year to year. If you are there in fall do check out the Momiji Corridor. It was bare when we were there but I heard it is beautiful in the fall and they host a festival nearby.
Hi. May I ask whether the water in the private outdoor bath (together with the room) of Ubuya and Kogetsu, are they onsen spring water or just normal hot water? From what I read, seems like it is hot water for Ubuya and onsen spring water for Kogetsu. Much tks for your reply!
If you let them know you are celebrating something, they will surprise you during dinner in cute costumes to celebrate together ☺️ they also gave us a handwritten letter with a photo of us and some wine to take home
Awesome view! Thanks for sharing! Can i ask where is the location on google maps when u were strolling along Lake Kawaguchi ( 5:38 in video)? That is such a nice spot for photo taking
Hello Ko, any tip on how to book into the Obuya Osen, I been trying to surprise my wife for our anniversary, but no one answer and its hard to book online. Thanks for any help
Hi, my best recommendation would still be to try and book directly via their website using the English language setting. The reservations usually fill up in advance but they do sometimes have special availability if you choose to book two nights in a row.
Hello! Such a beautiful vlog! Love this! Sorry weird question but just want to be sure- the private bath in your room, was it hot water? Cos i checked ubuya website and it says private bath is not hot spring but is it still hot?
Hi, yes we stayed at two different places. The view, facilities, room style and price point were all different but we enjoyed both places very much 😌 For special celebrations we would go back to Ubuya.
Hi, I think they release bookings up to 4 months ahead. I can see limited availability based on their website but there are still a few slots. All the best and hope you manage to find a suitable time to visit!
Hi, no we did not but there is the option to have one. They also newly constructed an infinity pool at the second place. We faced the same challenge picking between the two which was why we ended up visiting both 😂
@@Ko_Abroadthank you so much for replying! I am going to book the second place now since Ubaya is already booked out for March 😢 May I ask which room you booked for the Shuhoukaku Kogetsu
The room type we stayed in was ‘Japanese Style Room’. I hope you still have an amazing time when you visit ☺️ the lakeside walk from the ryokan is beautiful and there is a lovely bakery less than 5 mins away too!
Hi, first of all the video is stunning! You managed to get beautiful views of Mt Fuji during your stay. I was planning on going to kawaguchiko as well and contemplating between both of the ryokans you have featured. What would be your recommendation between the two? Are the prices nearly similar? Which room did you end up booking for Ubuya? I'm also unsure of Shuhoukaku Kogetsu has western beds because I'll be travelling with family and futons will be difficult due to age and mobility issues. Thanks so much for your patience with my questions!
Hi, thanks for the compliment ☺️ The price depends on the type of room booked. We booked the standard room with private open air bath at Ubuya and the standard Japanese room at Shuhoukaku Kogetsu (there are several options for Western rooms and the ryokan is undergoing upgrades at the moment). Overall we liked Ubuya better but the view from the balcony at Shuhoukaku Kogetsu was the most spectacular we saw.
Me and my wife are going to Tokyo in February and I really want to have at least 1 day in a ryokan that serves food with a private onsen any recommendations?
Wowwww! Its beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!
Question: Which unit (Ubuya) that offered such an amazing Mt Fuji view that you were staying in?
All rooms at Ubuya offer a view of the lake and Mt.Fuji. The particular room type we stayed in was called ‘Standard room with private bath’.
I went to Kawaguchiko back in 2017 and was happy I got to see Mt. Fuji with some snow on it but this was truly amazing! I'm hopeful to stay there again one day.

Awesome video!!
Beautiful video! What month/days did you both stay here?
Thanks ☺️ we were there from 10-12 January.
What an spectacular video. Amazing.
Beautiful video! Which season were you there? Was there twice and couldnt see Mt Fuji!
Thanks! We visited in winter which is the season with the highest chances of seeing Mt. Fuji. We hope you get to see it one day too :)

Hello!!! Which room did you book for Ubuya!! That particular room looks awesome
Hi! We booked the ‘Standard room with private bath’ 😊 the great thing is that all rooms at Ubuya have Mt. Fuji views.

Awesome view! Thanks for sharing!

We were at the shore nearest ‘Kogamasao Memorial Park’ on the map. Hope you get to visit the area soon!
Thanks man!!!

Hi! Yes the water is hot ☺️ The communal bath uses the water from natural hot springs but the private bath does not.
美味しそうなご飯に綺麗な景色。日本にまた来てくださいね。🎌♨🍣🍜⛩
We can’t wait to visit Japan again 😌 hopefully next year we will be able to make it back!
loved the video, so u stay at two different hotels? what the difference? if i was able to pick one, which u rather ?

Hi, we booked about 3 months in advance and the full range of rooms were available at the time we booked.
@@Ko_Abroad i'm trying to book it 2 months in advance and it's fully booked *crys*
Oh no, hope you still manage to find another place! Anywhere along the northern shore of the lake should have equally stunning views
Great video!!! thnaks for sharing
Thank you very much for the beautiful images! Did you stay 1 night in each hotel?
Yes we did 😊
Ubuya is not letting me book… I don’t understand it
Hi, I think they are fully booked for the current dates that have been released. If you check the site occasionally, new dates will get released.
Wow ‼️what a incredible scenery.
Don't worry but
Fujisan always be with us at least until we pass away.
Yes our memories of Mt. Fuji will last a lifetime ☺️
Now this is what you call vacation.

Hi, it is called ‘Hold You Heart’ by Epsilon Wave.
How much was the room?
Hi, you will be able to find the most up to date prices for the two different places we stayed at via the links in the description :)
