    2 years ago i started MTB trails riding but i come from over 10 years of bike trials riding and i was so happy to see that I still can use many of trials skills i practiced so much, like the endo. You are so right on practice precision not only try big moves. I used to want to go bigger and bigger but it was such effort to face fear until i realised that fear came because i was not sure on myself, i did not practice control but try big stuff. If you know you have control, since you practiced 1000X times then fear does not come. thanks for videos! i like how you explain. Enjoy the ride! If i ever come to Spain i will contact you for a coaching session and an epic ride on some of your most beautiful trails :)

      Well done, Sebastian, so great to hear you noticed that you had a legitimate fear and that you were able to change it by working on control. Thanks for sharing.
      If you ever do want to come, make sure to book way in advance, I am currently booked out for the next 8 months

    Jeez Roxy thanks for this video . That's where I'm at just couldn't work I why I'm floundering. Balancing wasn't my issue just trying to swing hips too much. At 67 it takes little longer to acquire the skill but I'll get there. Nicely explained. Thanks again

    Love your point about not trying to go Too big with the pivots. I'm guilty sometimes of chasing the amazing feeling of floating alllll the way around a larger pivot at once on the trail, but have a lot more control and success with smaller ones. I'll focus on enjoying those and working up in smaller increments :D Non-pivot related, what eyewear are you wearing in this video, and what do you think of them? I'm quite petite and treated myself to a fancy pair of trail riding sunglasses that fit my face and adjust to lighting, don't fog, etc., but I haven't found a completely clear lens pair as nice and comfortable for deep shade and night rides!

    i can do the endo turn everything feels fine, im able to do the small movements but when i have to reposition my front wheel thats where the problems start. do i have to praktice the "rocking" to solve this problem?

  • @GlenHunt
    @GlenHunt 2 года назад

    You know, so many of these FUNdamentals look a lot like the things I accidentally do in places that aren't right for that particular movement. I guess it's all in sequencing correctly.

    • @Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire
      @Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire  2 года назад +2

      True - It’s all in sequencing and knowing WHAT to look for - in other words, to have a clear goal of the exercise.
      Yes, everyone may be able to roll down an obstacle, but it’s about HOW this is achieved and whether the rider is performing the key body movements to maintain stability, balance and control.
      And that’s what makes a well-founded FUNdamentals course so valuable - the rider will have a clear goal of the exercise, understand how to achieve and maintain control, stability and balance and thus be able to automatize these movements, which will then allow the rider to maintain these principles on gnarly trails.
      The biggest error many riders do is: just ride. Especially if beginners do this. By doing so, they automatize many flaws in their fundamentals and then need to UNlearn.
      The problem: our brain is GREAT at learning and really bad at unlearning!
      So they take about 20 times longer than they could if they had worked with structured drills and a professional coach in the first place.
      Lance Armstrong once said: if you’re a beginner, hire the best coach you can get. What you learn right in the beginning will save you many years of trial&error and many more years of unlearning.
      Although you will already know, Glen, many others may not:
