Excellent tutorial and congradulations on becoming part of the YT Partner Program! I’ll definitely use your practice drills to become more proficient at turning. Do you have a video on berms?
Probably the best video I have seen about riding switch backs. You both do an excellent job of breaking it down to smaller size bites. You earned a sub.
Great videos guys. I'm just trying to get into mountain biking after a 25 year layoff, and everything has changed so much, the bikes, the tech and most of all how you ride. We used to lean back on everything, that was always the advice, but your explanations as to why that's not a good thing, really resonate with how I felt doing them. Keep up the great work guys.
Stoked our tutorial was useful to you!! Thanks for the message and stay tuned for the next video! We are working on it but life gets in the way and soon as we have a gap we will have a new tutorial up! Cheers 🖖😁
@@vicwesmtb I've watched so many tutorials, and most of them go over my head, but yours are excellent. I have a 5 year old, so I know all about life getting in the way, so no problem waiting for your excellent tutorials. Thanks guys.
"... might not make the switchback." This is a gentle way of saying " go off the cliff and tumble to your death." :-) Seriously, nice tutorial! Thumb up from me! You two provide instruction like real coaches, not like the media channel presenters I see here so often.
Welcome back!!!! These are awesome to watch and really do a clear job of explaining the physics of it all. Watching the circles drill has made me realize I really need to get a frame that fits me. Would you guys possibly entertain the idea of a video down the road about sizing, bar lengths and angles, etc? Keep it up!!
Thanks @philakamrbean 😎 stoked you have found value from our videos!! can certainly explore a video with bike geometry and sizing etc 👍. its important to know!! take care and keep a lookout for our next upload! cheers and chat soon 😉🤙
Congrats to the Partner Programm! I just found your old Videos a week ago and was sad that you stopped your unique videos that are > really < made for real Beginners :-)
Thanks for the message Christian! stoked you found us!! we are getting back into and should be posting regularly from now on - appreciate your support!! cheers and chat soon - Vic & Wes 👊😎
I just discovered you two while specifically searching for downhill switchback tutorials. I love the progression you teach. Can you tell us how far apart you're putting the cones for each of the drills?
Hi Christine, thanks for the message! We first lay out the cones in a straight line around 2 to 3 bike lengths apart if riding a slalom.. We then bring them closer or further apart and wider apart according to what we are trying to do. Closer together and wide apart will be more difficult (Sharp Turns)And always test it to see how it feels. Make it easy enough to do when you start out and then slowly make it harder. It’s like working out a puzzle 🧩. Start slow and easy and progress towards speed and difficulty in small little steps 😉. Progress to sharp tight turns using cones first before hitting the trails. 😉👍
This is gold! Just the problem I'm having at the mo but my switch backs are a lot tighter and a shed load steeper but yea, defo gonna practise b4 I try my nemisis track again.
@@EnriqueCarrizoCortés thanks for the message! Start with 8-10 ft then see how much smaller you can go. The smaller circle is around 6 ft radius, but once you get it super dialed on can go even smaller. Hope this helps! Cheers!! Wes 👊😎
Nice, methodical approach, good video. One comment: Vic's microphone gain or sensitivity should be reduced as it's topping out with her voice and crackles.
So far the best video I've watched to teach how to do switchback

This is one of the better videos for riding switchbacks I've seen. Good job 👍
Your vids are great and they deserve a much bigger audience!
