I had the same worries as i was building my bed. I ended up using boards. Since my bed is higher than this one(18 drawers) and i dont use the tiny space underneath my bed. It all worked out, this is what it looks like: ruclips.net/video/yffsMzyRk7k/видео.html

Hallo Julia, ja das Bett ist super stabil, bisher habe ich da keine Probleme gehabt. der Rahmen ist ja extrem breit, deutlich breiter, als bei normalen Betten. Das fängt wahrscheinlich einiges ab.

How has the wood slats held up...I see some people reinforce the middle...I'm a bigger guy and was thinking If I use 2×4's for the slats it should be strong enough
Is this a bed for two adults? I have no doubt that she will withstand a child. But will it withstand two adults? The load will be about 200 kg.
And how are you going to get things underneath the bed? There are no easy access that I can see. Unless you have to move the mattress and the slats everytime you need something you kept there.
Xav Acid yea you would have to move the mattress, but you would not store there things you would need everyday anyways; like suitcases
Xav Acid , That IDEA is not for the lazy people who is never think about how to get the things look tidy. Like the suitcase will not going to use in everyday routine. Summer clothes, summer shoes. That's only for people who have no space in their place to make life easier and keep every room tidy in one place and not look a mess.

You keep saying lazy as if it's the only reason why someone wouldn't want to move the bedding, the pillows, the mattress to get access underneath the bed.

Wie ist das denn mit Staub unter dem Bett? Sammelt sich da viel? Kann man gut saugen und wischen?
Ja, ist gar kein Problem. Die Kommoden stehen ja fest auf dem Boden, da kommt kaum Staub innen an.
How has it held up thus far ? I am looking to remake this as well but I I’m concerned about the integrity of IKEAs dressers being that they aren’t solid wood.
Its still in perfect condition. The dressers are very heavy so I thinks it shouldn't be a problem to use them.

Für uns stellt sich aber die Frage ob da eine ausreichende Belüftung der Matratze gegeben ist?? 🤔 Was habt ihr denn für Erfahrungen gemacht?
Bisher stellt es keine Probleme dar. Im Grunde ist die Matratze ja von unten ähnlich gut belüftet, wie bei konventionellen Betten, außerdem wird sie bei mir immer mal wieder angehoben, wenn ich etwas unter dem Bett verstauen oder herausholen möchte, was für eine Matratze ja auch nur positiv ist. Viel Erfolg beim Bettbau!

It is not clear to me the sizes you used to make the base of the bed. What size did you use for the foot of the bed, and what size did you use for the side of the bed? Also, did you use the modular pieces?

Why dosent ikea do this type of bed in thefrist place but a little lower. For easyiet in and out of bed.
Ich glaube diese Rast Tische gibt es nicht mehr, wäre es schlimm wenn eine Alternative 4 cm in Höhe abweicht
Ja, Rast ist leider nicht mehr im Sortiment. Es wäre schon wichtig, dass alle kombinierten Möbel die gleiche Höhe haben. Rast war aber nur ein sehr simples Gerüst, das man theoretisch aus vier Brettern selbst bauen könnte.

In Germany it is possible to order online from Ikea.

Why do people on these tutorials, and landlords for that matter, always put beds so close to radiators?
Because of space? But we rarely use this radiator, its not really necessary.
I always think of heat/ warmth circulating the rooms. Beds getting cooked, just my little dig at UK landlords. Nice design, well done.
@@Slupel In North of China, we have a heated bed that is builded on top of a stove. In the bottom part of the bed can put fire woods in and generated heat and last overnight. I guess this video is showing the similar idea. haha :p
Built mine at a distance from the radiator. Works just as well. Maybe its just preference to build it soo close.

It seems like all DIY beds are made with slats, and my Tempurpedic mattress requires a more solid base, otherwise the foam sinks in the slats.
then you can just use a plywood wooden plate instead of a slatted base

If you have the cupboards, it's cheaper. If you don't have the cupboards, it's more expensive. But it is definitely unique.

Also bei mir hält es jetzt weit über ein Jahr und ich weiß auch nicht so wirklich, wie das Bett kaputt gehen soll. Die Regale als Untergestell sind ja sehr stabil.

Cooles Video,ich hätte gerne auch so ein Bett und Plane schon länger dafür dass hauptbroblem ist aber dass mein Bett am besten 1m Höhe haben soll und ich nicht die richtigen Schränke finde,da alle Schränke dieser Höhe Schubladen haben und ich gerne welche mit Türen hätte und diese wiederum kosten meist über 100€.könnte mir vielleicht jemand Schränke empfehlen?(suche seit ca.½ Jahren nach diesen doofen schränken)
Küchenschränke ggf. mit Füssen? Ich weiß nicht genau, was jedes Stück kosten soll, ist aber ein interessanter Bereich zu gucken. Die Füsse kannst du mit einer ganz einfachen Platte verkleiden😉
