I agree. I hate the cold modern boring open floor plans.
I just picture him coming home, opening his door and smiling with a sigh of relief. He is finally be in his sanctuary of beloved things arranged just the he likes. This is a feast for the eyes for any visitor fortunate enough to visit.
At long last!! People who decorate with color, warmth and personality and fun. The philosophy of more is more is alive and well, and in this apartment it shines brightly. What a gorgeous place!
Please don’t interrupt the homeowner. Your enthusiasm can be overwhelming.
I love Susanna's enthusiasm and expertise, but these are interviews and we are very interested in the opinions and stories of the homeowners. As the videos are so short I would love to hear more about the actual topic.
I love the clutteriness of these places. And I love how the designers all say that the space should bear the stamp of your journey.
7.10.20 ~ I notice in most (if NOT all) these visits to e homes of others, Salk continually interrupts the home owners, as if what they wish to share about their own dwelling is of no importance. As much as that choice of Salk's annoys me, I am sure that the annoyance is multiplied a hundred-fold for the homeowners. In other words Salk needs to learn to listen instead of interrupting!
Love the idea of putting a main picture in the middle and then working around that. This totally removes my picture hanging headache! Thank you. 💖

Love this NY apt done so well: interesting with so much creativity. A talented man. As a firmer New Yorker i can appreciate all the art that ny museums inspire. I live in Puerto Rico now (parents were PR) but miss that life i led. Thank u
The series has held me captive and I have loved seeing so much drama and creativity. Could I live this way. No. I know I would suffer from over stimulation.

Such a wonderful home!! And so many great ideas for any size home - especially all of the artworks! The fabric mix - especially the chintz slipcovers is so warm and welcoming! And the covered console table in the dining room to hide all of the office files is another great idea! Another video that was way too short - I could have listened to this charming man telling stories about all of their travels and treasures all day! Many thanks for this Sunday morning treat!

What is a home other than the ultimate expression of ourselves, our esthetics. Yet how often do we see the same-old, same-old repetitious 'safe' and odious interiors that have a formula style, rubber stamped to neither attract nor offend would be visitors! Thank you for this post as just perhaps some viewer will allow themselves to unlock their soul and style and put it on display for others to admire! (And you, yourself, will be the happier for it!)

It is so refreshing to see someone not afraid to use color on the walls and ceilings of a small apartment. And the large plants! How fabulous. So much better that those barren, stark white and grey minimalist apartments that only manage to look like the interior of a refrigerator.

This is everything I could ever want a home to be 😍❤️. This truly is a home and not a house. My problem with minimalism is that it lacks personal touch and gives such a office look to the house, the feeling of home is lost and it's just another building and therefore there is little to no attachment with the house.
This home was truly inspiring, it has so much characteristics, loved every bit of it.

Yes I adore her, unconventional and staying true to her character. You can't please everyone, but at least she is authentic, and that sets her apart from the usual ID presenters. It is like watching 2 friends having a visit.

Such a lovely place for a small space. I'm impressed with the amount of seating in each room. It's a little busy for my taste but it's nicely displayed. My favorite room in this space was the library love this idea....
My new space has a long countertop but I don't want to rip it out for blah cabinets. I like the quilted straight cover, I am a quilter, it is a perfect idea for me. Thank you.

I suspect it doesn't have that many subscribers because she isn't going to the homes of current celebrities in the film, tv, sports and music worlds. Just professional people who aren't famous, but who have made and/or inherited their money and enjoy home decor. I truly enjoy what's here on this channel and find myself staying up way too late because I want to watch every darn video in one sitting! :)

That library is terrific! Library, office, dining room. I especially like how the work area can be covered so you can enjoy the books or dinner without having to see the business part of life. I noticed that the height of the book shelves can be adjusted just by sliding shelves in and out; so simple and convenient. I'd like to spend some time in the library to see what books are on the shelves.

I've never been to NYC but I would think a visit to this apartment would be like transporting to another time and place. You would experience cultural shock once you left and got back on the street.

I love the bamboo blinds in the master bedroom. Oh we just sewed vintage saris and ribbon on them. So beautifully clever.

I love it, more is less.. I’ve collected beautiful bergere chairs 10 of which they’ve all been reupholstered some in silk..Couldn’t help but notice his staffordshire, porcelain of which I collect as well. I love it when people throw in something that doesn’t match, it gives the rooms personality..

These designers just can't minimize because they like stuff so much. The result is multi layers upon layers of chochkis, pictures, furniture, books, etc., etc. Because the designers do this it's considered avant garde and wonderful unlike us ordinary folk who are just considered tacky.
At first the apt decor struck me as too much, too busy but slowly after looking at the detail, it is soothing and comfortable. Nicely done!
We could do with less of the woman's voice. The place is really beautiful. Her voice is overwhelming.
