Quintessence is a haven for people who hate sterile warehouses of bland gray. I love the profiles of character and personalized homes. This channel inspires me so much.
@Bradford C, I couldn't possibly agree with you more. It has reached the point that if you have subscribed to one decor channel, you have subscribed to them all. The white, gray and some black has every kitchen looking exactly the same, and modern furniture has little differentiation. No personality, no personal effects, and no color. It sends me screaming into the hills. Except, that is, for Quintessence, who is our strength and refuge from the bleak and the blah. I am not saying the white and gray doesn't have its own beauty, I'm saying that it leaves me cold, uncomfortable, and wanting color, art, photographs and so much more.
@@twistoffate4791 I like both color and the neutral minimalist aesthetic. I enjoy watching these videos of homes with colour but I prefer that my home is neutral, calm and not have the extra stimulation that color gives a space.

Okay, 4 minutes in, and must say, it's so good to see people not shying away from glorious color. Color is a gift. Let's unwrap it and use it! The English country home aesthetic is so warm, comforting and inviting. It makes you want to curl up on one of those lovely sofas with a book or a friend, a coffee (or tea!), and enjoy some time out. I am so inspired! As she meanders through chapters of life she just picks up textile designing and starts the business!🏆 Thank you for the tour! This is the maximalist comfort that is timeless! 💗
I like how Schuyler manages to keep her maximalist interiors fresh and modern - nothing dowdy, at all, which is a feature of her delightful textile range. By scaling up and down vintage motifs and using complimentary colourways in her textile range, she has developed a range of products perfectly suited for classic, gracious living. Lovely lady!
I like to see so many beautiful and traditional patterns that “play so well with each other”! I love a coordinated, custom look where upholstery, wallpaper and accents can be thoughtfully and beautifully planned! It reminds me of my childhood homes my parents either custom built or just custom decorated. Having an entire line that compliments each other affords so many wonderful possibilities and certainly makes life aesthetically pleasing and decorating much easier. Brava, Schuyler! However, I have to say, the little nod to dogs in every room completely stole my heart! 💗
My husband and I are on the hunt for a '2nd home', actually a cottage on a lake and this is exactly how I have planned the decor. Lot's of textiles, painted wood & warmth. We live in a very large Victorian and have tried very hard to honor her roots. A cottage style home will be such a fun contrast. This tour is wonderful and this woman is a delight.

Dreamy with all of the fabrics and patterns and what a beauty of a home in Litchfield. The barn the garden and the porch! Want to see more or visit or both!
Don’t know who this lady is (I am not plugged into what’s happening these days) but what gorgeous textiles she designs and what a pretty home! I love how she has things from her parents and also paintings of her former beloved dogs. The bed 😂 I love the fact she was determined to get the bed upstairs 👍 Now that is passion 🥰 I truly wish some of your episodes were longer 😢 Yes, I am being selfish 😅
I’m always envious of someone who feels a design style in their soul instead of just flipping through social media, magazines, whatever and coming up with something that half suits them half suits the trends. To see someone stay true to themselves in their design choices and not think twice about trends, even over decades, is rare and a key factor to consider when evaluating our own design journeys.
I LOVE her gorgeous home! While I would not decorate the way she, and some other homeowners would decorate (if I had the money!), I think there's plenty of room to consider everyone's style, and we can derive pleasure and inspiration from all the ideas! The dialogue is very descriptive.
I grew up in Connecticut closer to New York but I went to summer camp in Litchfield. It’s really beautiful there. What a lovely home and I’m glad to see somebody who ended up in Los Angeles came back to the Northeast. ♥️
Love opening my computer to find a video! Schuyler's fabric line in amazing from what was shown! Need more deets so I can purchase some! Love her tablecloths! All that fabulous she inherited from her "minimalist" parents! She is darling of course!

Everything is not for everybody, but the mix of patterns and textures is exciting for me. I love the old furniture and use of unfinished projects. The clean white paint on the crooked boards of the barn was the perfect backdrop for the elegant table setting for the expected guest. 🍷🍷🍷
This was a beautiful home and she is so creative. Loved all the colour and new and old furniture. Just fantastic. I live in muted colours, but just love to see when others decorate in colour and it looked amazing. Wonderful tour for us.
It sounds like she is not 'done' decorating (though are we ever really done, lol?), but the family pieces and favorite items she's chosen as anchors have a lot of impact. Having significance to the person is more important in my mind than labels or how upscale the store is where something was purchased. You can tell she is a dog person, and loves life. Creativity is a gift to share with others. It would be so fun to wander the house and grounds.
LOVE your comment!! We always try to choose homes that are personal and hosts get bonus points for being dog lovers ;-) And of course we agree - creativity is a gift to share - what we try and do!! Thank you!!
