Thank you for saving me! While working to finish 6 base costumes scheduled to go out in 2 days, my foot lifter stopped working on different model Brother server. Your video inspired me to tackle it myself... It is now fixed and clean! Fantastic!!!! Thanks again!
Thank you. Thank you. Not even a month old and I have to take my machine apart. If threading wasn't an act of patience, this will definitely test it. Thanks again!
Hey Nicole (down under?), this is Kathy in Chicago. I can't believe the identical problem that happened to me has also happened to you on the same machine, same week, other side of the planet!!! I got as far as you, except I couldn't quite figure out what the original position of the little white plastic bit was. Thank you so much and happy serging!!!
Bonjour from Canada. Nicole, you have saved my life. I wanted to clean out my serger before I brought it to a . Followed your video to a T. But, now Im ready to put it back together and can't find Part 2 that you made. Maybe Im too stressed out to slow down and its right there in front of me? Could you so kindly show me where it is. Thank you for making these videos. I have subscribed and see there is much more than I thought. OK now I have to concentrate on this before "I run off and do something else"!!!!
Thank you. Brother coverstich 2340cv. Same set up. Got it all open, hopefully the little white bit will go back on easily. Same problem the white bit came off and disabled foot lever
Victoria Martinez ooh I can’t quite remember what that piece was but it may have been the blade that you need to unclog and pull forwards. It’s the grey plastic flat handled thing, attached to the hook shaped cutting blade. Or the other thing it could have been is the blue arm that you slide across when you’re threading. Try both. Hope you find it.
Sorry I actually still haven’t replaced that piece. I found that if I just keep the foot lever down, then I don’t have any issues. So I be been lazy and not ordered the broken piece.
It sounds like an engaging mechanism that makes the wheel turn. either a cog or a level. They are usually plastic so the get brittle over time. Try manually moving some of the elements around the wheel to try and figure out how that area works and at which point the process sops working. Hopefully you find the part!
Maybe that is due to oiling. I bought a used serger, Brother 760DE and it's wheel is pretty hard to turn. I have tried to oil it and now I put also WD-40 (waiting if it has an effect). You can see my process here: ruclips.net/video/uLfJLh-vI6o/видео.html
I’m not sure if the part name but if you take a photo of the part and the position It’s in, then email it to Brother sewing support, they should be able to tell your the name and sell you the part. Sorry I actually never ended up replacing the part on mine and just keep the foot down at all times and feed the fabric through.
Good morning, I brought my 4 year ago and only it 1 times.. I try to use it... and everything was seized in it... my brother attempted to fix it I'm broke two of the gear in it ...how can I replace it
You can call Brother and ask if you can buy a replacement of the gears. With any machine, if you haven’t used it in 4 years, it may need to be started slowly. There is a hand winding knob on the side that you can use to manually turn all the gears and parts and get them to re-grease themselves before turning it on fully.
This video is a relief. HOWEVER mine came with a black plastic lever (same white little thing in the video) and it happens to be snapped in half. Anybody know where to purchase that tiny little lever bullet? 8:25
da naughty virgo you should be able to email some suppliers in your country and send them a photo of the part and the location it’s in along with your machine info and they can post it to you. I’m in Australia I can offer some advice on where to find parts here but other countries, just google sewing machine parts suppliers.
Leann Blunt oh awesome! I still haven’t replaced mine as I just decided to keep the foot down all the time. But I’ll order it now that I know the name. Thank you!
Kimberly Stewart when you say server, what do you mean? The wheel? Is the needle jammed? If so, try taking all the threads out of the machine, open the front section and clean out any dust. Move your wheel back and forth gently to see if you can figure out what’s jamming it.

That’s so awesome! So glad it helped.
Thank you! You gave me the confidence to fix my foot lever and I did!

KATHY CARBONELL hey there, I know this video is a few years old but wondering what you did to get your problem fixed. I’m having the same issue. TIA

Thank you for posting this. I had to replace the foot lever on my machine after the plastic piece broke inside, so your video was helpful.
where did you find a replacement??
I have the same issue
I would love to know where you found the part as well
Thanks for the video. Can you send me a link for part 2? I am having trouble finding it. Thanks

Glad I was able to help. If it doesn’t stay on, it may be the plastic inside that price being too rounded off. Just order a new one.
Thank you for this video! I’m having trouble taking the front plastic piece off. I can’t find what was that you clicked and it came right off. Thanks!

Thanks so much I’ve just fixed my cover stitch foot lever sooooooo happy 👍
can you go into more detail and pictures of you actually putting piece on the rod?

Thank you, I learned a lot. My wheel won't turn at all so I can't move the needles up and down to thread it either. any advice on this problem ?

How do you trouble shoot then?

Just bought this today. The presser foot lift handle on the right is a little loose, is it supposed to be?
Yes I think mine has always been as well. I’ve had it since new. They don’t make them as sturdy as they used to.
However there might be a screw on it that you can double check if it needs I tighten. But I remember it being pretty flimsy.
@@NicoleHerrickDIY I checked that and it was tight. My lever is kind of bouncy but it serges perfectly. Thanks

@@leannblunt6349 wow thank you. Bless your heartz!
on my brother 3034d serger the left needle always breaks when I stitch no matter what I do , do you know what the problem could be ?
LifeWithArielle you can take the plate off and see what it’s hitting. roll the needles slowly down using the hand winder.

When making these kind of videos, make sure your sound level is set correctly. While I enjoyed the video, it was more than hard to hear.
Petra Honneff yes I was just learning how to shoot then. Appreciated though.
