    I've had a few GoreTex jackets in the past but I find Beta LT from Arc'Teryx as my favourite one so far. I'm in love with that jacket. Breathability is just fabulous (even when I'm cycling very intensively I don't get sweaty), great cut, durable meterials and 100% protection from the elements. Highly recommended versatile jacket for multiple outdoor activities.

    I get so confused with the AR, LT and such lineage. So, would this be an appropriate outer layer over an atom LT because it has gore Tex? Or should one step up to the Beta AR with an Atom LT mid layer?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 года назад +5

      Hi Mike, the Beta LT would work perfectly over an Atom LT. The Beta is a hard shell jacket and works as the outer protective layer.
      To help with your confusion:
      SL = Super Light
      LT = Lightweight
      AR = All Round
      SV = Severe
      These suffixes apply to all Arcteryx garments and help to indicate their intended use.

  • @halfred8011
    @halfred8011 3 года назад

    I own leaf and regular arc. Im wondering how far your bucks per garment in the 2015s vs now can get you pre-china owned. As for me, I used my leaf alpha gen 2 for a few years on the field and camping/hiking from when it was made in Canada. So far no issues on my leaf gear but 2020-21 regular arc it does feel cheaper. My gore shell tore afster the first hike which my early germant didnt in the same exadt uses.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 года назад

      The Arcteryx LEAF range is designed for more arduous use and it's therefore a little unfair to compare it with the "regular" range, irrespective of its country of manufacture. Paul.

  • @Neonomide
    @Neonomide 3 года назад +5

    I was waiting for those pit zips! I have to ponder AR vs LT again.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 года назад +4

      The pit zips are a great addition, your choice should depend on your intended use . For general hill and mountain use the LT is brilliant and the new fabric is so much softer and quieter than Gore-Pro. So unless you’re going to give your jacket a good thrashing each time you go out, the LT will be perfect. Thanks for watching. Paul.

    Just picked up a Mens medium Beta LT. Fits almost perfect. The only complaint is the hem is a bit snug. I’m 5’8 & 180, 34” waist. Rest of jacket fits gr8. I can easily fit a base layer & atom lt underneath. Even got another mid layer. Wondering if the hem in a L might be a bit roomier? Concerned the rest will be to big. Expect to use this 3 seasons. Limited use in winter as I use another product. Any thoughts or comments? Luv the videos. Appreciate the insight

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  2 года назад

      The hem will be looser, but you may find there's a lot of excess fabric in the small of your back; or at least this is what I find. It won't affect the performance of the jacket but it may be a bit annoying. Harry

    Hi. I’ve been looking at reviews of this jacket and have seen a few negative comments about the changes from the previous model. To be honest, most of the changes are a positive, in my view, for the types of activities I will be using the jacket for. The only concern is the change in front zip from Vislon to a coil type zip. This type of zip seems to be a bit of a weak spot for Arc’teryx, from comments I’ve read online. As a retailer, I imagine you get to see a few returned Arc’terx jackets. Is failure of coil zips something you see regularly? Thanks.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 года назад +8

      Hi Lee, to be honest, we see very few Arcteryx returns, and even fewer due to faulty zips! The new Beta LT is a belter and having owned and used the previous version for many years, I’d be happy to swap over to the new one without fear of downgrading. Paul.

      Wind protection will be the same, durability will go to the AR, noise will be a negligible difference. I'd probably go for the AR, purely as it's a longer, slightly looser cut and it'll provide a bit more protection.

    • @anhatur
      @anhatur 2 года назад

      @@trekitt I believe you. And the traditional answer to that is flaps covering the zips. It adds some weight, and probably production cost as well, but as long as you carry it the right side up, that normally solves the problem. Not everyone stays out in extended rain however, but if you do you have to look at details like these. There even are rain coats with double or triple flaps, folding over each other to make a tight a seal as possible
      I see that Swedish brands often go by the old ways, so I guess I’ll keep to them.

    • @trekitt

    Hey! Can you make a video on their new Beta LT Jacket Hadron , please? If you have this jacket in store :) I don't know what happened to Arcterix, but starting middle of 2022 they introduced a gazillion of new jackets, etc, etc with weird names. If before it was difficult to decide what to buy, now I just don't see what's the difference between their jacked as description per each of them sounds similar. Is like they are talking about one jacket changing the wording what makes you feel they describe a different jacket. Moreover... None of the local shops in Canada have Arcterix anymore. All of them sell leftovers.
