When Elvis died, I was with my mother at a Drs appointment. She was with the Dr, and I was in the waiting room. They announced it over the speakers that Elvis had died. Everyone in the waiting room burst out crying. I was shocked. When we left, I asked my mother. "Who is Elvis Presley?" She said, "The best-looking man that ever lived." I read in a book about Elvis' life that he and James Brown, yes that James Brown became such close friends that when Elvis' funeral was set, James Brown arrived early and was the first guest. After the service was over and everyone had left, Mr. Brown sat down next to Elvis' casket and cried like a baby for so long security had to gently pick him up and escort him back to his car. That's how much James Brown loved Elvis. Very touching story.
His family was so poor his father wrote a bad check for food. He went to jail, and Elvis and his mom became homeless. They ended up in the projects. Growing up, he was mocked endlessly. The black clubs he snuck into to absorb the music and the soul and the pain and the hope and the friendship. He gave so much of himself and resources to strangers and charity or to be used by those he thought cared. Keep learning and let his music touch your heart
He was and will always be the GOAT, not just for his performances, but because of his personality. One of the many times he performed at the Astrodome in Houston, he was told his backup singers could not perform because they were black. He informed the management that if his singers could not perform, then he wouldn't be performing either, needless to say they changed their minds. He was way ahead of his time.

Young man I love your reaction to the greatest solo performer in the history of music ! Elvis changed everything with his passion his amazing voice and his love for mankind !! I was 13 in 1974 when seen him at the Nassau coliseum 5 rows from the stage !! My sister took me and my brother and her son my nephew who was only a year younger than me . I have to admit I got distracted by the women throwing there tops and bras on the stage ! Lol ….. But seriously it was an incredible experience that I will never forget !! Young man there’s a reason everyone calls him the king 🤴
Great reactions! Glad you are enjoying Elvis. Get ready for a lot of Elvis. He recorded about 700 songs. He was the best music has ever had. He was a true gift from God. He is the ultimate rags to riches story. A true American legend
coming out of London England, shon your the Don, I'm liking your genuine appreciation and sincere reaction, not many people know that elvis had a twin brother who sadly died at birth, imagine two elvis dueting, he grew up dirt poor in tupelo, his musical influence came from the blues and gospel, shon I wish you would do a reaction to blue moon and thats alright mama, hands across the ocean my man, RIP ELVIS.
Elvis is everything me. I love him and thank you for reacting to his music. I’ve heard he and all around him were so choked up and emotional, he didn’t even say his usually closing line. He loved and respected MLK, he was truly feeling ever word of this song as well as everyone in listening to him that day. Elvis was the real deal. Also, I’m very careful about where I get my info about Elvis, but all you hear even from Pricilla is true. His gospel backup singers knew him best, they knew his heart. I already consider the source and what they have to gain.
Great reaction! You mentioned earlier that Elvis did not forget his roots. Even after becoming popular he lived in Memphis Tennessee. That was his roots. Not exactly a place where wealthy popular stars live. Not only that but Martin Luther King was murdered 15 minutes from Graceland, Elvis’ home in Memphis. That added to the agony of Elvis Presley’s heartache of King’s assassination!
This was not only a tribute to MLK it was also a tribute to Robert Kennedy who was also assassinated that year, I don't know why no one ever mentions that! It was also in a way about the conflict in Vietnam, I have it from a good source that is why he chose the red tie, to represent the blood being spilled by our young men overseas! Just a little more history for you! Great reaction!
Elvis learned to sing in the choir of a predominately Black Church. I watched an old interview with the Pastor of that church - he said that after 6 weeks with Elvis singing they had to put speakers out in the front lawn.
He used to go down to Biloxi Mississippi all the time and we lived in Gulfport and my sister people didn't mess with them down there and he also had a twin brother that passed away I think he had died at Birth I'm not sure we do love him and we miss him so much❤❤❤❤❤ one of the most greatest musician there was most beautiful voice sing with all his heart and soul rest in peace Elvis and take care of your daughter Lisa Marie and your grandson
Elvis was tight with the black community and never a racist. He took a lot of heat for singing with so much soul. The police even threatened him for swiveling his hips, lol. He had a ton of soul. And yes, we all need to come together. God bless you.
The girls back up singers are called The Sweet Inspirations and they add so much to the music and the good thing is that they're always with him..he also has his band..an orchestra and others that are all amazing ! Enjoy your Elvis journey I love your excitement..Thanks for this great reaction ✌️
Actually for the 68 special The Blossoms were the female backup singers (including Darlene Love). Sweet Inspirations came in 1969 with Cissy Houston only there for the 69 season
Thank you for listening to Elvis. I grew up in the Elvis era and no one could come close to him as far as singing. It didn't hurt that he was so handsome. ❤
He does say thank you very much quite often but not every time! FABULOUS reaction! I was here a few weeks ago to watch this and I was so charmed by your reaction that I had to come back and watch it again!
The more our new generations get into music like Elvis the better. Top tier musical performance right there. Elvis was inducted into 5 different Halls of Fame: Rock&Roll, Country, Rockabilly, Gospel, and R&B. He also holds the record for the most platinum records for singles and albums (nationally, I don't know about globally) so you know nobody is gonna top him. Not everything is gonna hit, some of his movie songs are kinda lackluster, but the 68 Special is fire. His gospel music is powerful too, if you're inclined, listen to Bridge Over Troubled Water or Amazing Grace.
Elvis was the real deal. He was a beautiful man with a loving soul and he sincerely wanted to help people. Bless his heart, he just trusted the wrong people and it led him down a path he hated and I believe that is one of the things that caused his way too early death. He was a sweetheart and a voice that will never be forgotten!! Love Elvis!!
Just watch this and I'm laughing my ass off at the ending, you are funny man. But yeah I love how you are getting it. And I would also say, about 1 and 3 or 1 and four reactors cutoff that turns out to be historic mic drop moment at the end. He did not say thank you thank you very much but you can hear him say sometimes but once you hear him say it in a live performance you will realize that it is humble and not the bullshit that impersonators make it out to be. But at the end of this it's the last show of the thing and he is emotionally exhausted and it's a historic mic drop moment. Apparently after this he goes backstage curls up in a ball and cries for hours. The assassination of dr. King only happened in his hometown of Memphis it only happened a short distance from where he lived. And he was devastated. You've got to check out some of his fun stuff though, there is black-and-white footage from him a long time earlier because he got going at age 20 in like 1955 or really quite before that when he was 19. He just took off like a late freight as some of the black people said back then. And I know you will probably get a lot of requests for this, but check out is 1970 live in Las Vegas version with him in the big white jumpsuit doing Suspicious Minds which had been a huge radio hit for him shortly before. This is mindblowing. And you will see how diverse is band is and how well they get along.
Your reaction made me smile. His passion is contagious! This song always gives me goosebumps. Glad that you have discovered Elvis and how deep and passionate he is. :)
Elvis was versatile! He could sing a sweet ballad, then do something more gritty. He sang country, pop, blues and his favourite genre - gospel! Instead of being known as the king of rock n roll, I think he should be known as the king of “music”.
Elvis was an absolute legend. This song was performed in his 1968 comeback special. You think this powerful listen to his gospel music. Grew up listening to Elvis and at 60 I still listen to Elvis

A true king never says he is king but always raises others up. When asked about being the king, he repeatedly said he was not, and others deserved the title more... particularly Chuck Berry. That kind of humility is genuine and beautiful. I've also read that his long-time backup singers were watching him during the performance, and they cried because they knew him and knew he meant every word. I've also read that after the performance, after he walked off set, he collapsed, weeping, because it took everything out of him. He never performed the song again. Thank you for this. I subscribed.

This song was about the death of MLK. Elvis's people told him not to do it. It would be detrimental to his career. He told them to shove it and did it anyways. It's still relevant today. Absolute classic. Elvis at his best. Beautiful, talented, generous, caring, humanitarian, unashamed, unapologetic, unabashed, always did what he thought was right. He treated everyone the same. He didn't care who you were. Creed, color or race. None of that mattered. He deeply cared about everyone. He is what REAL Legend's are made of. There will Never be another Elvis. Ever!

Loved your reaction to him, this is why us oldies loved him then and still do ♥️
I'm so glad you are experiencing Elvis. Keep going. Get to know his experience of life. How he survived his childhood with the help of the black choir he was part of. The black clubs he snuck into to absorb the music and the soul and the pain and the hope and the friendship. He gave so much of himself and resources to strangers and charity or to be used by those he thought cared. Keep learning and let his music touch your heart
He was a great admirer of MLK.
Thanks for your reaction, i appreciate you👍 Elvis is the man the GOAT!!! LOVE HIM SINCE 1956. IM 82 old years.and im still a fan. Thanks again ❤
Thank you for a nice rections of you,we will never forget this man we love you Elvis we all miss you dearly😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😐
Your reaction is THE BEST!
Thanks for listening to Elvis and giving him a chance.
Now you know why he's the king! :)
… Elvis was the first and the best! ... A millennial singer for the ages ... John Lennon put it best ... "Before Elvis there was nothing." 🕺🏻✨💎✨🕯 Thank you
Young man I love your reaction to the greatest solo performer in the history of music !
Elvis put his heart and soul into his music.Pure talent.
He had a lot of soul! He sang with a lot of passion in his voice! He believed in equality for everyone.
Elvis was certainly a special kindred spirit whose candle will never die...he was raised right by his Mother.
I absolutely loved your reaction!
Elvis is truly underrated these days.
GOAT!
He's singing from his heart.
He put his heart and soul into his song's
This was not only a tribute to MLK it was also a tribute to Robert Kennedy who was also assassinated that year, I don't know why no one ever mentions that! It was also in a way about the conflict in Vietnam, I have it from a good source that is why he chose the red tie, to represent the blood being spilled by our young men overseas!
Just a little more history for you! Great reaction!
Elvis didn't need an award! He is the award ⚡️
Yes, he is the real deal.
It was recorded by Elvis Presley in June 1968, just two months after King's assassination.
The girls back up singers are called The Sweet Inspirations and they add so much to the music and the good thing is that they're always with him..he also has his band..an orchestra and others that are all amazing ! Enjoy your Elvis journey I love your excitement..Thanks for this great reaction ✌️
One of the Sweet Inspirations was Whitney Houston's aunt. She was lovely, and I think her name was Sissy.
Actually for the 68 special The Blossoms were the female backup singers (including Darlene Love). Sweet Inspirations came in 1969 with Cissy Houston only there for the 69 season
Whitney Houston’s mother sang with the sweet inspirations .
Great reaction. I hope you continue to delve into Elvis. You won’t regret it and help the world to understand kindness and love
Thank you for listening to Elvis. I grew up in the Elvis era and no one could come close to him as far as singing. It didn't hurt that he was so handsome. ❤
Shon, Your reaction to this was theee BEST reaction I've ever seen on any reaction channel. Great job bro!!!
this song gives me goosebumps every time. I could play it 100 times in a row and every single time my hair jumps off my skin. Elvis made me bald...
Elvis can definitely take you to church!
Elvis is always the best
BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE EVER.
Your reaction made me smile. His passion is contagious! This song always gives me goosebumps. Glad that you have discovered Elvis and how deep and passionate he is. :)
Love your reaction. This song has the same effect on me. ❤️
Hey great review!! LOVE it :) I'm glad Elvis makes you happy. I think that's the big thing about Elvis...he makes you happy...:)
Elvis was versatile! He could sing a sweet ballad, then do something more gritty. He sang country, pop, blues and his favourite genre - gospel! Instead of being known as the king of rock n roll, I think he should be known as the king of “music”.
So many years after his death his music is still helping us understand each other. God bless this man
From one King of Memphis to another
There will never be another to match this mans greatness. Oh my goodness how beautiful was he too. 💕💕
Elvis was an absolute legend. This song was performed in his 1968 comeback special. You think this powerful listen to his gospel music. Grew up listening to Elvis and at 60 I still listen to Elvis
Exceptional performance!
Did you know elvis used to sing in a black church before he got famous? Elvis was one of a kind. That's why he was and is still the king.
Love this I'm a huge Elvis fan thanks for helping keep his legacy alive
It’s why he was the King!
I appricate your passion about Elvis, he seen every one as one no color no problem, keep up the great reactions, I was luckly enough to see Elvis in concert in Chicago 1977
Go for it man!! Elvis is an awesome ride! Just wait for it! I'll be watching. For me its like experiencing it all over again!!
This was my favorite Elvis reaction of all time!❤️
Great to see another great reaction to Elvis Presley. There will never be another like Elvis. RIP:🎸💔🔥 Looking forward to following your musical journey 👍
He said there was only one king and that was Jesus
Great reaction on Elvis! Thank you for going down the Elvis rabbit hole You only have about 800 songs to go Elvis had everything Best Entertainer, Looks 🔥, Voice, Charisma, Dancing, Actor yes he made 32 movies
I suggest you react to *Elvis and the black community part 1&2 that echo will never die only-12 mins each) there’s alot of celebrities in this documentary You won’t regret it! You’ll learn alot of his background and on what he went through Also Please react to
* *1970 live in Las Vegas-white outfit (Suspicious Minds 6:22),( Polk Salad Annie 5:01 ) , ( You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling 4:15), ( Bridge Over Trouble Water 4:10) ( Love Me Tender 4:36) kissing all the girls 🥰 💋Elvis loved his fans and we loved him the girls wanted him and the men wanted to be him 💛🔥👑🔥😍🔥
Just to name some songs to get you started 😊 You’ll see his charisma and movement ( dance ) he never choreographed his moves he just moved with the music you’ll notice he looks to his drummer and smiles their always competing to see who can hit the beat harder and longer 🔥🥁🎤🕺🔥 Ty
Ever!
Let the dream come true RIGHT NOW he said. Not someday in the vague future. Elvis was a champion.
Greatest live performance ever
I love your reactions to Elvis. I get a real kick from you. And, love to listen to my favorite of all time singer, The King of Rock & Roll.😊😍🐰💕
Performance of a lifetime still gives me chills
My wife and I are big Elvis fans and this is my favorite Elvis song.
Second review I have watched of yours and as a white 62 year old man from England, it is my pleasure to say how much I appreciated your critique of Elvis Presley you gave to his performances of In The Ghetto and If I could Dream.
I can honestly say I laughed, cried and then jumped up and down (not easy for me as I'm v large) and prayed that you grow stronger and stronger in the RUclips world.
Keep safe you beautiful human and I am hooked for life X (X is a British kiss)
Isn't it a wonderful feeling to watch someone fall in love with EL☆IS. We know E would be humbled and honored by new fans. And the ones who appreciated his soulful songs/performances, the ones he had control over. His pride and joy. So very sad for everyone that he left us at 42.
Elvis was the man he was a great performer thank you for showing the video🔥🔥
Another great reaction to Elvis. I'm so glad you gave him a chance. And wasn't it worth it? YES IT WAS. ❤🎶
