On Tuesday - just under a week since the jury sided mostly with Depp and the court awarded him $10.35 million in damages and Heard $2 million after a six-week trial - Depp, 58, joined TikTok and thanked his "loyal" fans.

My mother was beaten by my ex-step-father for 17 years. She literally has dents in her skull from where he hit her with objects including a tennis racket. She was married to a monster in a time where men beating their wives was not even considered a crime! I remember police coming when she was black and blue and bleeding and them taking him for a walk to cool off. It was a living hell and he threatened to kill her if she ever left. And she believed him. She was finally able to escape when he was out of state one time. She was terrified that he would find her and carry out his threats. I had her watch Amber's testimony. Within a few minutes she said, "THAT BITCH IS LYING!" For one, my mother said she's sure there were probably good times with her ex, but she certainly doesn't remember them and would never talk about how wonderful it was in the beginning. She would be angry and fearful of sitting in front of him. And she said she definitely doesn't remember minute details of any one incident because they were all so horrible. She doesn't WANT to remember the details and would never, ever recount her experiences anywhere close to the way Amber Heard told her lies. Amber Heard is a disgrace to any abuse survivor!!

This is almost exactly what I said watching her. I can’t describe every little detail of the abuse I endured at the hands of my ex. I certainly don’t reminisce on how the relationship was prior to the abuse. No real victim would. She’s a terrible person and a terrible actress.
My mother went through it also and my father was a cop so even when he pulled a gun on her after beating her in front of the 7 of us the police did Nothing!
She can’t leave him alone it’s part of her DNA and with her militant, crazies supporting her gives her fuel for her craziness, dumpster fire of a life!
I'm a male survivor of horrific dv only fit for a horror movie or novel - used abused and falsely accused. His win is the closest I'll ever get to justice because of people like AH and her supporters. Pure unadulterated venomism/ narcissism.

Exactly, if she wanted evidence that proved anything, she would have at least taken pictures of each injury as they happened and after a few days to show the full extent of it. Not taken pictures of spilled wine and a bottle on the floor or of a sleeping man with icecream running down his leg. I have never been through dv and hopefully never will, but photo evidence is the very least I would do! Are my thoughts a reality or no way could this be a possibility?

Spot on Stef - that is exactly the entrenched bias that these "setback" comments reveal. This is indeed one of the biggest advances for actual survivors of DV, men and women.
She’s the only one that hurt women trying to move forward. REAL female DV and SV victims and people who have been scammed by people like her hate her!!! It was beyond obvious to everyone that actually watched that trial the person that she REALLY is and it’s an absolutely horrible human being!
I think Amber is capable of being a dangerous person. She’s intent on destroying him and I don’t know if a person like her will ever stop which is a bit scary.

I find it almost unfathomable that she is this delusional. She is the set back of women's rights, not the verdict. This verdict is a huge movement forward for DV victims in that it shows that liars and abusers will not get away with their lies and abuse!
I am a woman. My rights as a woman haven't moved backward an inch since your loss but has moved in leaps and bounds for men's rights too. As a mother to a boy, my son stands a chance to tell the truth if need be. I don't stand with liars.

I agree. At my company they changed our HR policies last week because of this trial. We used to all take women at their word when they asserted claims of 5exual harassment. But now management will no longer trust what anyone says. If someone claims anything like this happened they are now told they can go get an attorney at their own expense or they can call the cops because management will not be getting involved.
The only thing that's caused women's rights to move backward would be her lies & inability to move forward honestly.

There’s an audio out there where she actually admits to him she “never said he did hit her, she only said it was going to be his next move” … he didn’t buy it then either. She was only trying to get enough of a tantrum going to ensnare him in her drama all over again.

I’m a survivor and I would have NEVER talked to my abuser the way Amber talked to Johnny. I quite literally would have lost my head. Once I said something kind of snarky under my breath and I lost a chunk of hair and a windshield over it. It makes me so angry that she claims to be a victim for attention and claims this is a setback for woman’s rights. Steph is right, it’s not a club you want to be in. I was once told "when your abuser can no longer control you, they will try ticontrol how other people view you." That's exactly what i see her doing now. Thank god this was televised so there is no question.
I dealt with the narcissistic abuser for quite awhile- I am still dealing with this person working to control how people view me because I rejected him- 10 years later. It can be crippling, debilitating and send someone into a forward spiral of depression- I'm just taking about the after effects of getting away, not the actual abuse. She is foaming at the mouth because she no longer has her supply.

I was reading earlier that since the end of the trial, a counselor that works with DV victims noted the increase in the amount of men coming forward asking for help and sharing their stories and going as far as saying they gained courage because of Johnny. I think that is amazing!!!

This girl just doesn't get that her inability to take responsibility for her own actions, is killing her career. The girl does nothing but lie and blame everyone else. I think only one person showed up at the courthouse in Virginia to support her, that speaks volumes.
I am hopeful that her actions have given those that make false DV accusations cause to stop and think twice and allows the real victims of DV to be taken seriously as they should be.

I don't think a restraining order will stop slander. Isn't there some way to stop someone from doing this??? A legal avenue to take? So horrible I cannot imagine what he's actually been through. A hell of a lot more than any of us will ever really know. We just have seen and heard some of the highlights, but the full story only the two of them know.

This isn’t taking survivors of dv backwards, this is human rights. The right to not be abused in any relationship no matter the gender! Equality for all! Its about time because there are a growing number of abusive women now (I’m a woman so just facts no bias) Something needed to be done about women and men being treated differently when abuse is abuse, it goes across all genders, races and all backgrounds. DV is universal. I’m happy that if anything we got out of this, we got this, DV is real for everyone and maybe now everyone will be heard, equally.

I love how just because one man was finally found innocent against a woman who was actually committing domestic violence, that somehow that means that women are now all the sudden never going to be believed. This is ridiculous. She's insane.

Tried to stop me from finishing my Bachelors degree. Etc. Well, the judge appreciated my cat Leo being the only other besides my daughter joke and never forced me to give my address. I finished that degree and I'm earning my MBA right now. I control my own finances and my own life.

Omg me aswell I'm 25yrs myself my abuser has been dead four yrs and I still get freaked out over certain things I can't watch soaps when there highlighting DV I can't watch anything violent on TV to men or women my grown ass children from our marriage have been through hell because I'm so overprotected of them my abuser got away with attempted murder because I was way to scared to give evidence against him he was charged and found guilty of gbh just on the grounds of the police and doctors report of that night and it would have been attempted murder if I was strong enough to speak up against him but I couldn't and hear she was strutting her stuff in court like that scribbling things down handing them to lawyers laughing argumentive been disrespectful to the judge the jury she baffled me

As a man that lived through DV, I am disgusted with the lies of Amber Heard. I got out of that relationship and have tried to move on. That was 8 years ago. This trial brought back many horrible memories. I hope she gets everything she deserves.
Keep looking forward rather than backwards. Congratulations for finding the strength to get out. So many men “snap” and end up imprisoned or in financial trouble - it is an established fact that many men (not all, of course) who are convicted of domestic violence reacted to a situation rather than creating it.

Definitely, I was a victim of dv for 8 years. It was so bad this man almost killed me multiple times. Broke both my eye sockets three times each and I have the medical records for it. He punched me once and put my lip through my teeth I still have scars. And he didn’t have any rings on and it broke my face literally. So I don’t understand her not one but. She’s a lying sack of s*** & for her to say that is wrong and frustrating. Like you don’t know how the f it feels to actually be abused you only know how to abuse. I agree. At my company they changed our HR policies last week because of this trial. We used to all take women at their word when they asserted claims of 5exual harassment. But now management will no longer trust what anyone says. If someone claims anything like this happened they are now told they can go get an attorney at their own expense or they can call the cops because management will not be getting involved.

As a survivor, that is easier said than done. We tend to, to be more precise, HIDE from it. You are right we wouldnt want to talk about it but we live with it, sometimes, forever. It is a part of who we are. We actually need to STOP hiding from it and bring it to the light of day. The "Monster" inside of Johnny has nothing to do with drugs or alcohol, those are how he copes. All abused had a monster put inside of us that day. Mine was cultivated for 60 yrs.
This woman had the world as her oyster - ANYTHING she wanted materially, and a man with a sensitive, giving soul who loved her - and she threw it all down the toilet due to her greed, narcissism and twisted jealousy. I hope Johnny is able to find a woman who truly appreciates his giving heart and that he does not give up on finding a woman who will be a true and complete compliment to him.

I had a feeling something was fishy, but once she took the stand I instinctively knew with no doubt. I never prayed harder for that jury to see it and obviously she did too. TRULY abused women WALK ON EGGSHELLS, 24/7, and they rarely get the nerve to scream off the cuff like that and when they do, it's because they've been pushed to it and outsiders looking in CAN SEE AND HEAR that element without knowing a damn thing about a damn thing about a damn thing. She never winced or cowered or made a single submissive statement asking him to stop, "please no", "please, please, i love you dont hurt me please" .... NOTHING even remotely resembling the cries and terror of a woman being intimidated or desperately trying to avoid escalation or in true fear because she's physically in danger.
