I get goosebumps listening to this song on the album, but watching it live makes me emotional. Its like I anticipate the crowds reaction and wonder how it makes the band feel to hear it and I honestly get a little choked up, especially during the " I need your looooooove" peak.
It’s a spiritual experience how Matt evokes these feelings through his art and talent in others. It’s almost unavoidable to get the goosebumps, especially from a live version. His stage presence is so strong and glorious. His voice, guitar playing, piano playing, and poetry are from the soul.
I don't know how I came across this video, I gotta say I'm glad I did,. Very rare to see a song performed like that unless your there yourself, and I felt like I was.

Actual true energy of performing "Madness" live for the first (second?) time it seems, with bonus points given for giving it a go for a small audience, which meant they were truly nervous as to how it would be received or how it would go from a tech standpoint. that's nothing, when I saw Duran Duran a few years back, the lead guitarist forgot the riff to "Hungry like the Wolf", Simon LeBon had to sing it to him. bizarrely, it made it more enjoyable.
if you can compare the original aired version to this one, you can tell there were some "fixed" audio frequencies, such as when matt sings the "and its looooove" part towards the end. still, VERY awesome performance
