Bad ass truck bro, love your process. I seen a dude running a 4000 stall and a stage 1 tick performance cam, man that thing ran amazing. Kept up there in the rpms keeping it in the power band.
Just watch your other video of it getting tuned idk if its the tuner or what but my 5.3 with stage 1 summit cam did 315 to the wheels no other mods. Just did stage 4 btr dual spring kit tbss intake and 92mm throttle body and it did 357 but truck was starving for fuel at 5krpm need bigger pump and cam sensor went bad lol so need to swap and go back. Bad ass build tho bro
So just a cam? Because mine is similar just a cam no heads, no headers, nothing everything else is stock on mine. The intake and e85 dont make much power gains on NA builds. I wasn’t too worried tho just wanted it to drive well i plan ln boosting it later! Thank you tho!
Great video... i broke my pcv connector on the intake how would you go about replaceing it.. do i tap it out and put a treaded nipple or is there a replacment part?
Appreciate the support brother, if you’re talking about the nipple in back of the intake manifold in just snaps in and out you just need to push the release tab in to switch it out.
I think the one on back is connected to brake booster... the one on top towards the back was connected to my pcv but since its been broken i dont have it connected at all..
What do u think the best I take would be for my 5.3 about to rebuild the tranny sense it went out gonna put a shift kit in there and a 2300/2500 convert with lockup. And I’m gonna also throw a stage 2 summit racing cam with ls6 valve springs and ls7 lifters. What u think with that set up the best intake man would be ?
Yes it did that’s pretty common with them, that’s one thing I didn’t like either and another reason why it just did the tbss. You can also try putting sound deadening on it to remove some noise but it ruins the look of it.
fuel economy, terrible but thats because mine runs purely on e85 if i had to guess maybe 10-12mpg, also doesn’t pass smog and havent done an official 0-60 but definitely around 5- 5.5 seconds
Dope video man! Can you add videos of you doing rolling pulls of from a dig? Was there a difference from each other ? Another question bro, where did you connect your vacuum if you regulator
Yessir I plan on doing full throttle rolls and digs soon! I just didn’t in this video because i need to roll my fenders first they chew up my rear tires when i push it. The first initial difference I get is mainly the sound other than that im sure performance is similar but i’ll see once i push it. The Vacuum from the regulator I put onto the top left of the manifold, I believe the tbss has two areas to put it but I put it on a plastic covered entry that has to be broken off to use.
I have the exact same set up bro just no cam. My regulator I have it vented to atmosphere but was wondering if it would make a difference with vacuum to it.
There are products to adapt some the sensors the map sensor was put in the original spot in the tbss manifold just had to use a bigger o ring or some method so it fit in the bigger hole and some things were deleted and tuned out like evap and evap solenoid sensor And capped off. As for the return line with our setup we have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and the bottom port of the regulator goes back the the factory return and the feed goes into the regulator and the other outlet goes to the rails feeding both. Hope this helps with anything.
Nah you should be good you can tune it afterwards, unless you do bigger injectors and throttle body then you might want to get a base tune in there before you drive it.

Yupp you can add it to a stock 5.3 but there are a few changes you need to do, like running the tbss fuel rail which is also return less so you would need to either run a regulator or do something else. Also if you have the earlier system with egr and emission stuff you will need to delete it. And I got rid of the old system already sorry.
So glad you ditched that sheet metal intake, it would have made more power with the stock intake and TB than that thing. The TBSS was the right choice for future mods. Did you ever get it retuned?
@@ErikRose_ not in a 4000+ lb truck with a 5.3L. They kill a ton of power under 5000 RPM. The TBSS is the best intake for the money for 99% of the time. Stall converter, yes - even with a completely stock truck they make a big difference. Not a baby 2600-2800, at least a 3500. For the money, not much else even comes close to the gains. It's not uncommon to pick up .5 - .7 from a good converter.
@@ErikRose_. TSP is currently having a 20% discount on headers! LT’s and a tune are always a great bang for the buck move. $499 for A team fanned intake manifold kit with rails and throttle body just needs injectors or find a used complete TBSS intake manifold for $350-$750 plus the $270 X link adapter for the throttle body from what i gathered online is A team gaskets sucks(according to video) loses torque down low but gains can be seen after 5500RPM and TBSS is as good as it gets unless you spring for the FAST lsxr intake and throttle body and fuel rails and injectors 🤦🏽♂️
