What TOOL song should I react to next ??
TOOL - Invincible
Maybe "Vicarious"
7empest, Eulogy, Jambi, Invincible or Vicarious, all these songs are Masterpieces by the one and only TOOL.
TOOL is FOREVER.
To appreciate the percussion in this band watch the drum cam of danny Carey playing pnuema. The 8 arm octopus. Also, tool lyrics are very deep and cryptic so figuring them out on the first pass probably will not happen. Enjoy
Forty Six & 2
The live version of this is exceedingly powerful. Maynard's theatric performance is unforgettable. Loved the reaction.
This is the one. The song that began my journey with the TOOL Army- it seems like a lifetime ago. Thank you so much for playing this and your heartfelt reaction.
Please do the live version of this at the 'Reading Festival'!! Its my favourite performance of all time!!
Please do their ENTIRE DISCOGRAPHY. They honestly don't have a bad TRACK. 🤞✌️
Facts!!!
Not one bad song by tool
For future reference, those chaotic instrumentals are a part of Tool’s style. It’s done like that on purpose.
Other songs to check out are Stinkfist, H., Eulogy, Forty Six & 2, Enema, Schism, Parabola, Lateralus to name a few.
The beginning instrumental sounds like the perfect soundtrack for a heroin junkie in withdrawl. Long, piercing chords.
Aaaand the uploader just mentioned this exact same thing. Subbing lmao
Fantastic picks.
I'd add to this list: Third Eye, Prison Sex, Bottom, Jimmy, Tick & Leeches.....
F**k it. ANYTHING by Tool is life-changing.
Do the whole damned discography and you'll never regret it.
I've read a lot that this song is about a friend of the band (possibly Bill Manspeaker) that felt he could only be creative when under the influence. You should watch the live remastered version of this song which Maynard really brings out the emotion in the song. Also this was with Tool's original bassist Paul D'Amour who left the group between the Undertow and Aenima albums.
i have read the same
This was written about a musician friend of the band who felt that his musical talents were best when he wasn’t sober.
Gotta react too songs 46 & 2 (think chromosomes and evolution) and Schism, also the Grudge!!
Amazing reaction lilly. Tool is one of the greatest bands of all time. This is my favorite song by them. As someone who has been a recovering addict for six years now, this song has always helped me through difficult times. 💙🙏
Right on. You can make it, brother. 🙏🤘
Tool guitarist Adam Jones explained in an interview wtih Guitar School: "The song and video are based on a guy we know who is at his artistic best when he's loaded. A lot of people give him s--t for that. I don't tell people to do or not do drugs. You can do what you want, but you have to take responsibility for what happens. If you become addicted and a junkie, well, that's your fault."
This song every morning for 14 months while I did my morning lines trying to get sober and not be deathly ill with withdrawals, now I’m FINALLY 6 months off daily use actually haven’t taken anything waiting for the right moment and can save it for the special occasions they are made for loveeeee TOOL
The live version of think is the single greatest performance I have ever seen.
Love that you are reacting to Tool! It's a very cerebral journey.
Favorite band of all time. Hands down, no one else comes close. Maynard is the sh*t. First heard Undertow and Opiate at the same time as the first came out in 93. Fan since and never will not be.
Great to see you enjoying Tool! There isn't a bad Tool song! 46&2, Right in Two, Eulogy, some others worth checking out!
Slayer - Angel of Death?
🤘
The whole album!
Another great reaction and review, Lilly Jane! This song hit like a freight train back in the day, because nobody was doing anything like that.
My favourite tool song. He's a genius ❤
Great song! amazingly I think I have this as there 11th best song and thats nuts its no knock just they've consistently gotten better every album
When he screams,” WHYYYyyy can’t we…”
Damn, I feel that 😞💔
Swamp song (off this same album) is my favorite song off of undertow! I think you'd really dig it!
You should do a reaction to The Maynard's mom trilogy. Which are 3 songs that Mynard( the lead singer of Tool & a another band called a perfect circle ) wrote about and for his mother. But their is a certain order to these songs. Start with
1.) Judith by a perfect Circle
2) Wings for Marie by Tool
3.) 10,000 Days by Tool.
That’s the first time anyone ever called me an earthling. Great reaction!🤘🏻
Right in two is another great Tool song
Love you! You always make my day better
New here, been watching for about 2 hours and so far best reaction content, since not only you FEEL the music but you’re honest, passionate and surrender to it all. With that being said, please don’t not overlook Forty Six & 2 by this band. Like every tool song is a journey, this one in particular is an one of the inner kind. ✨🤘🏾❤️🔥
as an addict this song means a lot to me. been clean for a while now and trying to get out is hard
Great band pick! There's practically an endless supply of Tool songs to react to! Even their new stuff is epic!
You gotta see the music video with this song. It's great!
The hardest thing you could imagine.
Always makes me cry. Listen to live version 93
Going to see them in May at Welcome to Rockville...can't wait
Ouch..
This song has a place in the hole, that is in my own
Heart ...its a beautiful song, that hits a cord with me, and I'm sure others... I wish i could be different ..but it's true, i wish, i could sleep all day 😔 "trust me, TRUST ME"
your a g fr. thank u for making life way easier . best reactor fsss
Love love love this song
watch the video for vicarious!! it is fantastic and so is the song!!!
Really should watch the live version of this
One of "those" Tool fans here. Good choice and great reaction! I enjoyed this very much. Thank you! The comment section has already done a good job of explaining the song, so I won't do it here. What next, you ask? Pushit, The Grudge, Lateralus, Pneuma, & Right in Two are some of my favorites, but this is not an exhaustive list by far.
Vicarious, Parabola, and Schism are all also some of Tools top songs and def worth checking out imo.
Damn girl, I have listened to far to many Tool reviews and you have such a different view of where they are coming from than others. I watched your reviews on Schism and The Pot and I have to say...Awesome work. As far as the next Tool song Eulogy will blow you away.
I appreciate your perspective on this song. It's a good one. Tools music is so much about interpretation and so intelligent. That's what makes them so different in my opinion.
Nice TAKE! MAYNARD'S lyrics have help me so many times to get through shit. ✌️
Have a great year 23! Go strong!
I love ❤ this song 🎵 so much because it's so deep and I can definitely relate to it real talk 100
Hands down, best TOOL ALBUM
I used to troll my local dive bar every night playing this in the jukebox. Now I just play it at home.
This is why I like watching your videos because your astute commentaries are always so spot on. I haven't heard this song is a really long time. When I was listening to it I was pretty young in fact and more or less just got caught up in the music and the general ambiance of the song but never really paid much attention to the lyrics. Until now I didn't realize just how deep this song really is. Excellent commentary as always.
ETA: Would love to see you react and hear your thoughts on Schism; another great song of theirs.
All of them
You should watch the this song Live in 1993 Tool concert and see Maynard act it out
Welcome to the Tool-box
U Gotta Do ‘Sober’ Live Version…W/Maynard In His Pink PJ’s Underwear..1993 Festival
Good Lord!..Maynard Dives Deep Into Character Of The Lyrics That’s About A Friend That Couldn’t Perform Or Create Music Unless He Was Chemically Enhanced…By Far My Top 3
Live Vocal Performances I’ve Seen In My 40Yr Journey Of Music!!
This was my Introduction to Tool in my early teens, very impactful and while they probably have better songs overall, this is still my personal favorite tool track.
As a side note this song comes with a really great music video
Disposition/Reflection/Triad. It's a threefer!
TOOL IS FOREVER!!
Super dope track Lily!
"Stinkfist"! 👊 GREAT reaction! You should also check out A Perfect Circle(Maynard on vocals), I would recommend the song "Judith" to start with. 🙂
Fear Inoculum, one of my favorites..
Please Please PLEASE Find the live video of this. What Manerd can do with his body to tell the story is just insane. I think for an empathetic person like you it will mean so much more.
Nice review. There is a double meaning. He is speaking as the addict, as well as personifying the addictive substance.
The entire Undertow album (Sober is on it) is about abuse, addiction, and the battle against it. I definitely recommend listening to it from beginning to end. Or at least the songs, Bottom, Undertow, Swamp Song, and Flood. The next album, Aenima, seems to be about facing reality and dealing with it. And the album after that, Lateralus, is about rising above and finding peace. There are songs that are better than others but they’re all good in my opinion.
The Grudge! Or Schism! Or 46&2! Or Parabol and Parabola! Or Lateralus! Or.... well, their entire discography?
Def should have done the live version
Tool being deep as usual
Other Tool songs to check out soon:
StinkFist, Eulogy, Schism
A lot of people don't get that he's saying... Why can not we NOT be sober? Living in a state of intoxication indefinitely. He wants to live that way, but he doesn't. It's an internal struggle with himself.
getting sober is not easy!
Hello there, please listen to: Blind Guardian - Valhalla (live), Suicidal Tendencies - You can´t bring me down, Over Kill - Hello from the gutter, Nuclear Assault - When freedom dies and (jepp another one and something totally different) The Edgar Broughton Band - Death of an electric citizen. I mean I have even more...but 😁. Greetings from Germany.✌
Great to see you react to Schism by TOOL
Check out A Perfect Circle "Judith". I'm bettin you dig that one😉
"WHY CANT I BE SOBER!!!"
The next Tool song you should check out is prison sex don't worry it's not what you think or schism. Not even a longtime Feud with their record company can't slow this band down. As a 60 year old black male I love tool. And check-out Godsmack to their cool band as well.
Sorry I love that hair. The song is amazing also.
Metall is the best Music 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️👌👌👌
Try some of Maynard's wine.... truly awesome 😊👍🤘🤘🤘
Yo yo yooooooooooo Lilly Jane! You should react to 2 recent Rae Sremmurd songs:
1. Denial (they dropped that song back in June summer ‘22)
2. Torpedo (they just released it so it’s new)
🔥🔥🔥
I don't care what anyone says, that's best guitar lead (5:58) in human history. Straight to the point.
Also, I beat addiction. As in I totally defeated it. Never looked back, never fell, don't even think about it unless the topic comes up. I win.
Finally someone not reacting to the live version. Studio audio OP lol
Do the 'Live version. It will completely boost the experience you have with the song, in good or bad.
Tanks for the review :)
Whether Maynard meant it or not, the last line: I WANT WHAT I WANT...? Well, that's the actual down to the nitty-gritty problem with humanity as a whole.
Think about it.
Or don't.
I don't care.
Id think you would appreciate reacting to Pneuma live. Its just speechless.
Schism and Pneuma are my fav right now tho.
H. or Floods, OPATE
ALL AMAZING TOOL 🤘🤘
Never clicked on anything so quick 🥰🤘
TOOL ARMY approves your reaction.
🤘🏻🌀
Highly suggest doing Pneuma, but be sure to do the Danny Carey drum cam version. You won’t be disappointed
You really should do the video to sober it’s cool
Wait till she hits Lateralis and Parabol-Prabola
Third Eye
Since you seem to resonate with the meaning behind Maynard's words, you may want to try out one of his other bands, A Perfect Circle. I recommend "Judith". It's about his very religious mom's lost battle to cancer. Maynard is not a fan of Christianity after that, to say the least.
46 & 2 next
Patient.
Tool was dominant in the 90s. Maynard’s voice is distinguishable from most
You have to watch the live version😢
You should listen to Lateralus - it’s got the Fibonacci sequence embedded into it. True musical genius
46 and 2
The lyrc is why can't we drink forever.
#LIlyJaneGang
Please do reaction to this song Live at 1993
"H" and "3rd Eye"...Maybe even "Merkaba"
You really can't go wrong with most Tool songs you select. But I would like to see you go off the beaten path and maybe hit some tracks that aren't covered by most reaction channels. Like "Eulogy" or "undertow", "Opiate" or "Third Eye".
