Gave my first bfk to my lad after he had been obsessing about it from the moment i got it. Even though i have a seamaster, an orange samurai, a pepsi padi prospex amongst others i really missed that bfk so i ended up buying another for myself. His is the same as this one but mine is a very dark blue pepsi with red and its gorgeous. I simply do not wear my other watches. Even the omega is gathering dust. These bfk divers are great. Both ours keep really accurate time. And they are really handsome beasts, a lot of heft on the wrist. We both wear ours loose. They hang just right and we love them. So much watch for the money. Yes i rate it over my omega.
Ahh a kindred spirit! I'm with you. I have a lot of watches. This one is such a beast of a watch it makes my samurai feel like a dress watch 😂. There is a definite feeling when wearing it I absolutely love it. Its it's own thing and not trying to be a sub or anything else.. That smooth rounded edge case is the opposite of my much loved samurai.
I was really lucky to find mine in a shop selling used goods (as they are now discontinued) and it was like brand new. I love mine. I've currently got it on a very nice premium leather strap from Bob's watch straps.
Fantastic review..I have owned this watch ( It was my rabbit hole into horology really) Still wear it and yes it's like the Top Gear truck indestructible good gateway watch
I got my Seiko Kinetic Sport 150 in London back in 1995. I have had the capacitor replaced 3 times since new. The last one replaced by Seiko in Nov 2020. Should be good for at least another 8 years. It`s the only watch on my wrist over that time ( 28 years ) and looks today as good as when new. New cyrstal replaced at last service because of minor scratches. Quality product that cost £250 new but is probably the greatest bang for buck i ever invested in my life!
100% i gave mine to my son as i got an Omega Seamaster. I missed it so much i offered him another of my Seiko diver watches. He declined. So i had to buy another. 😂😂😂
Worn mine for many 130m trimix dives for years maybe a decade later a motorbike accident grazed the glass badly i had it replaced with the bezel insert . My daughter proudly wears it now , i had it for over a decade well over ,, it was washed at 40° on a long wash cycle . I climbed a good few mountains . It was my most abused watch of the time , absolutely 20/10 did not expect it to be half as tough as it was , there are imperfections but , i had friends taking rolexs off for deep mixed gas dives and using these after seeing mine soldiering on , thats the truth ,
I've owned one since 2008. I wore it at my job offshore on oil rigs for 9 years--just could not stop it! Easily handled salt water, heat, shocks, vibration and pressure.
Great watches. I love it more than my Omega Seamaster or Tag chrono. It keeps great time even when i have not worn it for months it keeps its charge. Great lume, nice and heavy on my wrist. A lot of watch for the money.
Great review. Good to see Kinetic technology still getting some attention on RUclips. With the amount of watches Seiko is making, it wouldn’t have hurt if they kept the Kinetic line. I have the pvd version of this. No battery change and still accurate after more than 6 years. It’s a keeper.
Nice review👍. I have JDM model of that BFK, great feeling on wrist, I love such heavy watch. Once maybe in 2 years I remove the bezel, clean it properly, apply some tiny amoun of lubricant and push it back to enjoy crispy clicks. But never done it with bezel of my skx007, cos it never sticks.
Your right the bezel is very tight on the BFK , I do the same sometimes I just spray a little oil to get the get the bezel to loosen up and the wash it out
@@curbyourshi1056 Hi, just search in google or youtube with “how to remove bezel on seiko skx”. There are plenty options of videos. Same principle works for skx and bfk, doesn’t matter what you have. I already used same way for skx as well just to see “structure inside”, with skx it is little bit harder to remove. I just use broken kitchen knife, what i have grinded on the edge as flat as possible which easily gets under bezel enabling me to pop it out easily. Then I use alcohol to clean all scrab out, put some tiny amount of oil and get all fixed back. It keeps turning well for 2 years at least.
I've had this watch 10 years, along with 22 others. All I can say is - at least on mine - the angst concerning capacitors, power reserves, and unrecoverable depletions are unfounded. Certainly it does not remain at full power as long as it did new - since I don't wear it anywhere near every day. But I recently lost this watch, when it had been at only 1/3 charge status, it was gone for 3 months until my brother found it inside his couch. It was then indicating only "5 minutes" of charge, but not stopped. I picked it up, shook it around a little, wore it for a couple days and it was back to full charge status. So maybe individual watches differ... or maybe Seiko's charge handling recommendations are just super conservative. But as for me... I'm not worrying about it any more.
I've got the Gen 2 (ProSpex) 371; those came on the rubber strap. It's a great watch; the look, build quality. I've got another kinetic, so I bought the Seiko charger (which costs as much as the watch). That's really the only way to keep these fully charged. I wear mine on a Bond NATO - it looks a lot like the SPECTRE Omega.
Got mine from Hong Kong about 10 - 15 years ago. Was just looking up how to repair the bezel, as mine is shot and I need a new insert too as I wear it at all times. Love this watch and want one of those Orange Monsters next. I use Wahl clipper oil on my bezel when it gets tight. Think it's rusted out a bit now though. I should take better care of my watch, but I love wearing it too much.

Have one with the pepsi bezel. Have used it every day since i bought it more than 10 years ago. It is indestructible!! Best watch I have ever had. And I worked in a watch shop at the time, so I got it really cheap. 🙂 Normally wear it with the original rubber strap but sometimes put the metal bracelet on. It just will not charge back up. I really don’t like kinetic because of this. Expensive watch but it’s supposed to last 6 months from full charge and they simply don’t live up to that at all.
