- We're back in Turkey to fish for bluefin tuna with @SuatYigit ! I've been suffering from a lung squeeze that has been negatively affecting my diving but it's not stopping me from trying to accomplish my goal of landing a bluefin tuna in the Aegean Sea! Spearfishing is the most sustainable and ethical form of fishing. Fish speared while freedive spearfishing using a speargun, polespear or Hawaiian sling are fish, lobsters and other oceanic delicacies that have already reached maturity and have had a chance to breed. When commercial fishing nets are stripping our ocean's fish supply, freedive spearfishing is sustainable fishing that allows for the renewal of fish populations. Spearfishing, while freediving or scuba diving to hunt for seafood, are some of the most dangerous lifestyles. Spearfishing and freediving are more than hobbies, they are a way of life for many.

Awesome video, bluefin tuna seems like the pinnacle of spear fishing. When I was in the US Navy, I visited Izmir, there was a small US military resort there, I really enjoyed the city very much. Thank you.

Thank you so much! Yeah a lung squeeze is no joke. I didn't show all of the awful coughing and spitting up blood but you can image how awful it felt. It wasn't the smartest choice to keep diving but luckily everything turned out ok. Love you ❤

Lauren how long do you hold your breath and how deep do you go when spearfishing tuna in Turkey?
This year we were diving from 60-90ft, but last year we only had to dive 30-40ft. I'll hold my breath anywhere from a minute to 2.5 minutes on dives.
