I am in the UK and now the XL bully has been banned I am seeing more Am bulldogs or people are trying to pass their bully mutts off as them which is a shame as we don't want Am bulldogs being the next banned breed. My friend has a proper Johnson bulldog and she's a cracking dog, very dog aggression but so sweet to people and children.
The yard is impressive. Exceptional looking stock! Great living conditions. Not sure sure about the bite work. They are sometimes better left to instinct. Hog and bear work on the other hand. They would probably mix well with kerr dogs.
Kool interview. Didn't get to see the dogs moving and interacting..didn't hear much about the breed or how he came to admire them or a bit of history on if he shows or competes with them...
Why these AB all shave an undershot bite? I’ve seen working AB with a correct bite, similar to APBT. I don’t think having an undershot jaw is functional
Most of those working American bulldogs are standard type. Meaning they are built more lean and athletic with a normal bite. Classic type or bully, or some call Johnson type, will always have an underbite. It’s a breed standard and not unusual. They bite and work just fine with that jaw type.
Ok, so these in the videos are not standard AB, they are bully. Still the undershot bite is not ideal to catch and hold as it interferes with correct breathing. A similar issue is found in some lines of modern cane corso. It’s becoming more similar to a boxer, which is more of a dog for shows rather than a real working dog.
@@rexkurt I see what your saying, but you haven’t seen enough American bulldogs that are capable of what your saying doesn’t happen, it can and very much so have a strong grip and hold. Of course standards probably have a better outcome but some bully/classics are up there too. There are also hybrids….the mix of the two and they will still do the job. I’m sure In the future we will see more bully’s and hybrids performing up there with the top of the line standard American bulldogs. DAKKs bulldogs perform well in the ring and I’m 100% sure his projection towards working will do great as well. But again, the underbite from a classic can do the same job, I’ve also seen a mother of a female I own that is from Dakks own bloodline that hog hunts and with doggos, bandogges, and other breeds that the specific hunter runs with
Also the breathing is exceptionally clean from that line he has, I’m speaking from firsthand experience as well as owning offspring and producing my own mostly off of DAKKs line
He looked confident to me , wasn’t worried at all until the camera got down in his space ,then he was wary of the cameraman ,I was surprised how relaxed they all were with the cameraman. Nice dogs
@@huhSHUAso if the dog didn’t back up and barked with the same tone as you called it, is he still nervy as you called it? @@brettchattaway5242 if the dog didn’t bark that’s a different story. That’s more confidence. Stand-off ish isn’t a confident behavior. That means the dog isn’t sure and nervous. But the way he backed up says it all. That dog basically was unsure of the guy. And said back up who are you. But also didn’t want any problems. Your dog is different. Those are mastiffs. @@huhSHUAlike I said, the bulldog was wary of the cameraman , American bulldogs are wary of strangers , I don’t need you telling me what my dog is doing,my dog doesn’t need fixing she guards well and turns it up or down to suit the situation , like any good dog , so when a dog hunting a large mature boar takes a step or 2 back or sideways seconds before grabbing a ear is that dog not confident? If you’re going to interview someone about the American Bulldog, make sure you check their paperwork, first. This kid is fairly new to the breed and but an experienced finesse god. There are WAY more deserving people to interview than him and who actually know the breed and are respected.
@@DogumentaryTV of course I agree with your statement about being solution based. Again you could have definitely done better research by asking the right questions prior to the interview, especially since your channel is used as a resource. This is a disgraceful.

This is how serious dog people keep serious dogs in check, a dog just needs physical and mental stimulation to match the breed daily ,good food clean water , good shelter and they are content, they don’t need to be on the lounge or with a human all the time
The old Zeke is back. More yard tours plz irrespective of the breed. Lovely dogs.
Dak and Zeke could of had a Super Bowl

I have an American Bullsky and he is incredible 😊 I feel a lot of these crosses should be standardized. They are a huge improvement.

I don't think his dogs are up to that task honestly. Those bully ones don't have the drive for it.
I sure do wish you'd extend the courtesy of enabling CC to the viewers. Great doggos!
Beautiful dogs bro 🤙
I have a Scott Ambull Heidi. She's a trim sweet athletic girl. She's really quiet until she senses danger, then she gets loud and physical
Nice pups do you hunt hogs with your Dogs ?
I’m gonna look into this breed for sure. 💪🏾

Hybrid type. Probably had MGK in there somewhere but with out paperwork it can also be an outside cross.
One of the scariest looking breeds out there. If I was living in the hood, this is the dog that I would get lol
