BMW M5 Competition (fuel consumption combined: 10.6 - 10.5 l/100 km [26.6 - 26.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 242 - 239 g/km
The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model. The values of the vehicles are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.] The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification. BMW M makes a fantastic product. I would now love to see this exact same vehicle be designed in a fully electric design to compete with the likes of the Tesla Model S P100D.

M5 E28 and E34 are the best looking BMW 5 series
For a non-expert it will be hard to tell if this is a 5 series or 3 series. I expected a M5 which is more distinguishable. BMW you failed. 👎

People dished on Bangle for that design, but honestly look at the 7 series and 5 series from the era; they still look pretty good and futuristic( that was their aim). On the other hand look at Mercedes from early 00s, its ugly af compared to newer models.
Chris Bangle designs despite the controversy at the time are pretty timeless and changed the industry's design language.

Nope. Previous model also has a carbon roof as standard (unless you specify sunroof) and power is exactly the same.
Well there is in fact a lot that is new within this iteration. Reworked suspension and new infotainment system aside, it looks like a completely different car from some angles IMO.
I think most people would struggle to agree that this car is ‘all new’

Best car ever made. Period. I have driven the new F90 M5 competition and still prefer the way the E39 drives.
The E39 is the perfect BMW. True love.
Would love to see an F91 M5 Touring come into production. Then I would for sure buy over RS6. Numbers and looks of the F90 are great but I miss the touring chassis on an M car.
Who the hell buys touring cars for sports performances? Even the touring looks are terrible, long ass back ruins the perfection of the car, so only reason to buy it is if you have a need for space, but in that case you dont go for a damn 120.000 $$$ machine lol. On the other hand comparing Audi to BMW is ridiculous, you dont compare funky volkswagens to king of kings. ✌️
@@EvilForces I have an E61 M5 Touring and I think it looks great but what's even better it's quite the sleeper and even though it's now 13 years old you still can annoy supercars with it ... and it sounds better than most of them.
The tourings and suvs are degrading the image of this car company. BMW is the most iconic sports car manufacturer and the sedan is the chasis to go.

Well the e60 m5 wasn’t the most reliable, in fact they are almost always broken

You live in a fantasy world where you have no idea what you're talking about from a practical POV. In reality the E60 was seriously flawed, the engine might have been glorious when it worked, but it was inefficient and unrealiable. The Bangle era design was also challenging to look at, the SMG gearbox was a liability. The E92 M3 was great, but again, the ngine doesn't fit with the modern era of emissions and efficiency standards. If you want an E60 or E92, go buy one, don;t expect a car manufacturer not to elvolve and modernise ain accordance with legislation and technology. In other words you can say it a million times all you like, but it's time to grow up.

The e60 is terrible and amazing all at once. SMG? trash! Engine ? knocks like a Jehovah whiteness every 15k miles. Sound? AMAZING. power? oh yes. Really the e39 was the best m5 made...

For me the e60 remains the most aggressive in design.

Exactly, as much as I like the new look it’s not characteristic for a bmw.
Started with the F30 lci headlights which I also loved.
The f10 really is a forgettable generation. What is special about it? Nothing. It's a very good car, but no better than it's premium rivals. The F90 is exquisite and better than it's rivals.
stubones The F10 is overlooked as hell. Everyone gets a hard on for the E60 but goes soft once they see those maintenance bills. The E39 is a GOAT understandably and the F90, albeit is the best obviously as it’s the newest, definitely doesn’t have the styling of the F10. To say it’s “forgettable” is a bit ignorant.

Anyone else feels like the F10 was the best at being an M5? The new one doesn’t have the same elegance, it shows that it is a performance car very easily. I don’t know , maybe I am biased because I own an F10
Im sorry man. E39 or e28 are best m5s....e60 is a close contender. F10 is fat and numb by comparison. Sounds like a muted trumpet too. F10 chassis is just a bad basis for an m car. Its only saving grace is that it was fast for the time. (0-60 in 4 secs) It still struggled to put power down. F90 is better than F10 simply because it offers more in performance metrics but is still numb compared to an e60 or e39. That being said, F90s ride way too stiffly. M lost its ability to make captivating cars when eps and efficiency became BMW's directive.

That E34 is perfection. Glorious straight six with individual throttle bodies, RWD, manual 'box and an LSD. You just don't need much more than that. Modern ///M cars are waay too "look at me" for my liking, though I respect the engineering. A wolf in a sheeps clothing is the coolest car.
Unfortunately, environment related laws killed off the ‘old school M cars’. If you have one, cherish it.
E34 M5 is still the best! those were the best days of BMW back then...

It remains unmatched. My father still has the e34 M5 1991 model, Love it, even the f10 and e60 remains my favourites amongst m5 production. The F90 is what I would like to call "The Godfather"😭😭🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

E60 M5 with that V10 will forever be a legend despite it's reliability issues...it's a 4 door supercar what high revving F1 derived V10 wouldn't have some maintenance needed when doing 60K, 100K or even 200K miles?? An icon, best sounding car BMW will EVER produce and the best super saloon of all time.

Same. The pre-facelift looks much more aggressive and sporty in my opinion. I do not like this more flat rear and front. And the air intakes look very tame compared to previous comp pack m5.

I personally agree with you because that V10 is an engine after my own heart and personally i can overlook its ling list of common faults and failures. BUT. E39 M5 bro, that 4.9 V8 sound. those timeless looks, manual tranny offered globally, its a serious match up of two M cars.

E60 M5 is my favorite BMW of all time.
The reality is that 99% of people watching this video don't NEED to know anything about this car because they simply cannot afford to buy one, even when they've depreciated massively. If I had the finances to purchase one I'd have done it already. It kind of grinds my gears when I see a video claiming I NEED to know about the features a certain luxury or premium car.
That Interlagos Blue E60 M5 is so timeless. Still the best looking M5 IMO.
It is timeless indeed. Such a shame that it was hated so much back then. People just didn't understand it yet, they weren't ready for it.
