This is based on the existing 3-series. I'm sure the facelifted 2021 or 2022 3-series will have a huge grill and so will the M3 based on that generation.

Well, BMW said they want to differenciate the 3 from the 4 so since the 4 series has that grill that is present on the leaked m4 photo its safe to say that they will keep the M3 looking closer to the 3series than the M4

Love my 2002 BMW Z3 M roadster with that monster S54. Built the monster with some upgrade which were not easy and a 6 speed SMGii swap. Has more power then stock 330rwhp/300tq all NA not turbo or supercharged and after 17 year like that it is not going away where. Love my BMW Z3M I could only dream of ripping it on the Nürburgring I know how awesome it is on back roads.
Wonder if there will be a 3 door version of this or will they just bring out a new M4 again and call that the new M3? Some engine details would've been nice as well...

Anyway, my current F80, I find MDM mode to be overly proactive and I intrusive when you’re cornering that it’s better to switch it off. Then you can truly appreciate the dynamics and engineering behind these awesome machines!

Looks like they are keeping the larger grilles. It honestly helps out for airflow but turns away diehard BMW enthusiasts due to the design veering further and further from its roots
Will the rwd option be without all the x drive components in the front or the same car with the feature disabled? Not that it's a bad system but a lighter more agile character with less weight in the front sounds like a lot more fun than a 0.2 faster 0-100 or track time.
